First, it is necessary to narrow the psychological distance between the parents and the adolescents, to make efforts in each family to be more harmonious within the family, and to reduce consciously the physical and verbal violence which is sometimes unintentionally applied between the parents. Second, when adolescents attempt suicide, counseling agencies in schools, educational institutions, and local communities should be able to respond effectively to adolescent crisis situations, and follow-up measures such as suicide prevention education and suicide attitude education must be conducted Efforts should be made to reduce juvenile delinquent suicide and impulsive suicidal thoughts. Third, when developing adolescent suicide prevention and related programs, differentiated programs and suicide prevention education should be tried. Fourth, I think that it is necessary to prevent the suicidal thoughts of adolescents by early detection and intervention of high - depression adolescents by establishing a system that can be applied to adolescents out of school.

  • School absenteeism, one of the early warning signs of behavioral problems, has been known to be a complex and heterogeneous problem. However, much of the research assumes that school absentee adolescents comprise a homogeneous group. This study explored the heterogeneity of school absentee adolescents, based on school adaptation, to provide a more nuanced understanding of school absenteeism and examined predictive and risk factors associated with each typology of school absentee adolescents. Latent profile analysis was conducted using sample 477 middle school students who were reported absent in the previous year from the 3rd wave of Korean Children and Youth Panel Study. Multinomial logistic regression and ANOVA was also employed to examine the effects of predictive variables. As a result, three profiles were identified: low, middle, and high adaptive group. Group membership was found to be associated deferentially with gender, mental health, parenting neglect, delinquent friends, and delinquent behaviors. These findings propose more specific and targeted interventions designed to meet the needs and risk factors associated with the different typologies of school absentee adolescents.

The researchers utilized the data from "Analysis of the Effectiveness of Intimate Partner Violence Offenders Correction and Treatment Program" funded by Ministry of Gender Equality, and thereby, sampled 124 battered women for interview over phone. The results of applying the WHO's standard for hazardous drinking based on frequency and quantity calculations showed that 15.7% of survey participants were classified as hazardous drinkers, either currently experiencing or having the risk of experiencing problems related to drinking. The result of carrying out a logistic regression analysis to identify the factors that influence hazardous drinking showed that household income and self-blame were factors that exerted statistically significant influence. Based on these results, clinical and practical intervention plans for helping battered women who drink hazardously were discussed.

  • Although the number of adolescents with complicated problems and needs has increased, there has been a limited service for this population. In addition, a traditional social service could not alleviate the problems. In order to provide an alternative to a traditional social service to this population, the wraparound model is reviewed and explored. The study presents a review of literature on wraparound and social work via EBSOCO. By reviewing 12 articles on the subject, the study discovers 3 topics, such as (1) youth with various problems, (2) general characteristics of wraparound, and (3) evidence-based practice and wraparound. Based on 3 topics, the study also discusses the feasibility of wraparound service in Korea.
