The present study investigated the relationship among the level of family differentiation, quality of family relationship, and intimacy with their partners in 381 adult children. First, this study examined the relationship between the level of family differentiation and quality of family relationship. The result showed that the level of family differentiation was positively and significantly correlated to quality of family relationship. This finding indicated that family differentiation may be used for an objective and useful index to measure the dynamics of emotional system and the level of family-of-origin emotional health. Second, the influence of the family of origin was studied through exploring the relationship between the level of differentiation of family of origin, and adult children's intimacy with their partners. It was found that the family differentiation level was positively and significantly related to adult children's intimacy with their partners at each subsystem, but family differentiation levels of parents more influenced on adult male's intimacy than on adult female's intimacy with their partners.
The purpose of this study was to examine whether self-differentiation mediates the relationship between adolescents' family functioning and self-esteem and to examine whether peer support and family conflicts had moderated mediating effects. For this purpose, 522 students from four high schools in Gyeonggi province were surveyed about their family functioning, self-differentiation, self-esteem, and peer support. The results were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and PROCESS. The mediating, modulating, and moderated mediating effects were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. First, correlation analysis showed that family functioning, self-differentiation, self-esteem, and peer support were significantly positively correlated. Second, the moderated mediating effects of peer support were as follows. First, self-differentiation had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between family functioning and self-esteem such that family functioning and self-differentiation were positively correlated and self-differentiation and self-esteem were positively correlated. Second, peer support had a moderating effect in the relationship between family functioning and self-differentiation that promoted self-differentiation. Thus, peer support affected family functioning and self-differentiation. Third, verifying the moderated mediating model of peer support by combining the mediation model of self-differentiation and the moderation model of peer support identified above showed that self-differentiation mediated the relationship between family functioning and self-esteem. Thus, family support affected self-differentiation and self-differentiation affected self-esteem. The significance of this study was as follows. First, it showed that self-differentiation significantly mediated the relationship between family functioning and self-esteem, clarifying the relationship between family functioning and self-esteem. Second, it showed that peer support moderated the relationship between family functioning and self-differentiation, identifying a mechanism that promotes self-differentiation. Third, it showed the mediation of self-differentiation of the relationship between family functioning and self-esteem depended on peer support.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the Family Functioning, Smartphone Addiction and Self-differentiation of college students and investigate whether Self-differentiation mediated the relationship between Family Functioning and Smartphone Addiction. The subjects of this study were 176 college students from 3 colleges located in S-si and M-si and the data were collected over the period of 20 days from December 1 through December 20, 2016. As their Family Functioning increased, their Self-differentiation increased (${\beta}=667$, p<.001); as their Self-differentiation increased, their Smartphone Addiction decreased (${\beta}=-.361$, p<.001); moreover, their Self-differentiation fully mediated the relationship between their Family Functioning and Smartphone Addiction (Z=-2.336, p<.001). To alleviate the Smartphone Addiction of college students, their Family Functioning and Self-differentiation need to be improved.

The aim of this study was to validate the influence from academic stress caused by the achievement pressure of their parents and the adjustment effect of self-differentiation. The data was collected from 257 students from the 19th of May, 2014 to the 30th of May, 2014 for freshmen and sophomores of a college in the Kyoungbook region to validate the study. The SPSS/PC 18.0 program was used for the statistical analysis. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed more less influence of academic stress caused by the achievement pressure((${\beta}=.111$, p<0.05) of their parents but there was no reasonable value in validating the adjustment effect to reduce the academic stress by self-differentiation, i.e., it should be a non-linear and complex effect rather than a simple linear relationship for self-differentiation.
The objective of this study was to investigate the degree of interpersonal relationship in nursing students according to their characteristics. This descriptive correlation study conducted visit-surveys with organized questionnaires and sampled 306 nursing students. Data was analyzed by t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis using SPSS/WIN 14.0. Findings revealed that; 1) the degree of interpersonal relationship in nursing students according to their characteristics were significantly different in age and grade; 2) Pearson's correlation revealed a significant association among interpersonal relationship, family function and self-differentiation; 3) multiple regression analysis showed self-differentiation and family function significantly influenced interpersonal relationship in nursing students. Based on the findings of this study, nursing professionals should provide proper program of interpersonal relationship related to self-differentiation and family function.
The purpose of this study was to explore clusters of married woman based on family differentiation and family rules originating from their family of origin, and to examine family strength according to clusters. The research instrument comprised of a questionnaire completed by 269 married women that investigated family differentiation and family rules based on family origins, and the comparative strength of their nuclear family. Analysis of subgroups was based on four representative categories differentiating family rule patterns. Cluster analysis demonstrated that the higher family differentiation level and lower-mid family rules level were related to greater family strength. As a subgroup, lowest levels of family strength were associated with lower family differentiation and lower family rules in all clusters. Findings supported the efficacy of a typological approach for investigation of experiences of married women based on family origin.

To achieve this, we chose these research questions. To verify these research questions, data were collected by distributing 470 questionnaires to Social Service Agent serving in service organizations located in Seoul. Second, when the effects of sociodemographic characteristics, self-differentiation and ego-resilience on service maladjustment behavior were studied, all values of sociodemographic characteristics, self-differentiation and ego-resilience affected all lower factors of service maladjustment behavior with significance. For social withdrawal, the effectiveness of interpersonal relations, optimistic attitude, and the degree of family regression had a negative correlation, and emotional divorce, education level, and term of service had a positive correlation. The degree of family regression, anger management, and cognitive function vs. emotional function had a negative correlation with hyperactivity while self unity had a positive one. Family regression, cognitive function vs. emotional function, anger management, and family's economic level negatively correlated with aggression. Family regression, optimistic attitude, cognitive function vs. emotional function, family's economic level and term of service had a negative correlation with obsession and compulsion.

Both parents completed the Differentiation of Self Inventory(DSI : Skowron & Friedlander, 1998). Children completed the DSI, the Personal Authority in the Family System Questionnaire (Bray et al., 1984), and the Youth Self-Report (Archenbach, 1991). These measures were translated into Korean and adapted for children and parents; their validity was established through a preliminary survey of content validity and reliability.
