This study focused on issues of relative importance to the work and family life of married men. The work was carried out to determine, when men are in any category, how to increase their satisfaction with their work and family life. Data from 896 married men with their youngest children under 18 years of age was collected and analyzed. Cluster analysis was performed to classify the categories depending on the relative importance of work as compared to family life. I obtained four types relating to the relative importance of work compared to family life. The results are as follows. First, the score of subjective balance which was perceived by the men was slightly higher than the normal range, at 3.27 points. Second, work-family negative spillover is bigger than family-work negative spillover. On the other hand, family-work positive spillover is bigger than work-family positive spillover. Third, in the category in which the difference is largest between the relative importance of work and family life, the men crave the value of nonwork. It seems that in order to bring a particular gravity to work, there is a possibility that the areas outside of work will be suppressed. Also, in this category, both the satisfaction of family life and job satisfaction were low; this will be a point to consider when discussing the problem of the balance of work and family.

The purpose of this study is to propose measure for the effects of perceived parenting attitudes and emotional problems on life satisfaction among adolescents in single parent families with the parent resource perspective. The study consisted of 230 first grade middle school students from single parent (living with either mother or father only) families in the 4th year panel (2013) of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS), National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI). All statistical data analyses were performed using SPSS version 21.0. The findings of this study are as follows. First, lower levels of depression and aggression were found among adolescents who perceived parenting attitude as more affectionate. On the contrary, higher levels of depression and aggression were detected among adolescents who perceived parenting attitude as more intrusiveness. The more the inconsistent parenting practices perceived by adolescents, the higher the degree of depression. Second, a higher level of life satisfaction was found among adolescent who were more likely to perceive positive parenting attitudes including monitoring, affection and reasoning. However, there was no significant correlation between negative parenting behavior and life satisfaction. Third, a lower level of life satisfaction was observed among adolescent who were more likely to perceive emotional problems such as depression, aggression and social withdrawal. Fourth, according to the analysis on the effects of parenting attitudes and emotional problems on life satisfaction, affection parenting of all positive parenting styles and depression among emotional problems had an impact on life satisfaction. The more affectionate a parent is with his/her children in parenting, the lower the degree of depression in adolescents, and the lower degree of depression in adolescents, the higher degree of life satisfaction was found among adolescents from single parent households.

The programs were based on a review of family ecological theories of family volunteering activities. A focus group interview was conducted about satisfaction of the program with five volunteers who were experiencing the same family life cycle. In the study of married couples, there has been a great lack of analysis of the factors affecting the marital satisfaction of spouses until now. In this study, the subjects were couples living in Seoul or Gyeonggi Province. The data collection period was November 20 to December 20, 2009, and data ond 184 couples were collected and used for the analysis. The SPSS 17.0 program was used for the analysis. The main findings of this study are as follows: First, the husbands' marital satisfaction was higher than that of the wives. And the variables of spousal support, alternative comparison level and marital dissolution disability were also found to be statistically significant according to gender. Second, it was confirmed that the self-variables had a greater effect than partner variables on couples' marital satisfaction. Third, the influential factors of the marital satisfaction of husbands and wives depended on the individual resource variables (self-esteem, health of origin of family, parenting efficacy), the couple relationship variables (spousal support, spousal similarity, recovery attempts), and the level of marital alternatives.

The purpose of this study is to provide background information to help develop family-friendly policies which aid in the ability for employees to balance family and work, and to increase the effectiveness and feasibility of these policies at work sites. We surveyed the performance and usage of work-family balance policies among working mothers with young children. We also examined the factors influencing the job satisfaction of working mothers. The study sample consisted of 237 working mothers with young children. We found that family economic status, working mother's experience of family leave or maternity leave, and easiness of policy use are important factors in a working mother's job satisfaction. Especially when individual and job characteristics are controlled, the most influential factor on working mothers' job satisfaction was the experience of family leave or maternity leave. In addition, the easiness of family-friendly policy use was a significant factor in working mothers' job-satisfaction.

The demand and supply of programs of parenthood programs for fathers are increasing with changes in the image of male parents. Under this backdrop, a necessary requirement is to analyze the current status of father programs that are spearheaded by governments and the satisfaction with them to determine if they actually meet the needs of fathers. This study conducted such an examination for the fatherhood programs that were provided as a mandatory public service by the Healthy Family & Multicultural Family Support Center in 2017. To this end, the research analyzed performance and satisfaction data on 776 projects, including 1293 programs that were required for provision in 101 integrated centers nationwide. The results showed that satisfaction with fatherhood programs differed according to the project area, the location of a center, the period of implementation, the methods of proceeding, the participation unit (whether an entire family or an individual family member), the number of participants, and the number of sessions. Overall, the level of satisfaction was higher in "fathers meetings" (under the community domain) than "support for the father role" (under the family relationship domain). In relation to implementation period, satisfaction with the programs was high in the 4th quarter of implementation. Satisfaction with the programs was also higher for culturally based initiatives than education-oriented programs. Satisfaction was higher when the participation unit was the family than when such unit was the individual. The smaller the number of participants, the higher the satisfaction level. Finally, the number of sessions was deemed satisfactory when it was completed in more than four sessions. This study is meaningful in that it provides the basis of effective use of the government budget by analyzing the status and satisfaction of the fatherhood programs, which have been implemented since the integration of the Healthy Families & Multicultural Family Support Center.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of human capital and social capital on the life satisfaction of middle-aged single persons by comparing one-person and multi-person households, respectively. Major results were as follows: First, the level of human capital of one-person households of middle aged males was lower than their counterparts in multi-person households. Second, the level of social capital in the group of divorced or widowed, nonhouseholder middle-aged males in multi-person households was lower than their counterparts in one-person households.
