The data analysis was done with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and contents analysis. Result: The mobile bathing services were performed for 67 days during the evaluation period and it was 88.2% of the number of expected activity days. The volunteers participated in the activities were 293 and they provided the service for 124 people. The expense per service provision was 97,771 won. Both recipients and volunteers were highly satisfied with this service. Also, the broadcasting on the activities and awards enhanced volunteers' pride. Conclusion: The mobile bathing services linked with the service program as a part of major course. The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a Web-based Nursing Education & Instruction Program to help the clinical nurses improving their knowledge and skills of ostomy care. This program was developed in three different steps: analysis. design. and development. The results of the study were as follows: The analysis step was designed to select the study contents for effective and easy educationthrough the analyses of specialized books. This surveyed and analyzed study contents were categorized into five different sections. Introduction. ostomy classification. ostomy management. elimination management. and life style. After that each section describes necessary information of each category. In the design step. the image files used in this program were created using Adobe Photoshop 6.0. and HTML files were designed and developed using Namo Editor 5.0. In the development step. the developed program was published into Web using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and then finalized after trial operation for testing of real users. In addition. this Web-based Nursing Education & Instruction Program will be used as excellentand effective tool for continuous and lifelong education in nursingfield. In this study. computer-aided education program was developed for ostomy management and managed at the Web-Server (http://hshong.knu.ac.kr/ostomy) in order to help nurses real-time education in clinical field by this program.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a delirium education program for nurses and assess its effects on knowledge of delirium, the importance of nursing intervention, and nursing practice. Method: Participants comprised 60 nurses in a university hospital. The experimental group participated in a 3-hour delirium education program. Data were collected using structured questionnaires. Chi square and independent t-tests were conducted to examine similarities in demographic and dependent variables, and an independent t-test was used to test the hypothesis. Results: The experimental group obtained significantly higher scores than the control group in knowledge of delirium(t=14.52, p<.001), importance of nursing intervention(t=13.76, p<.001), and nursing practice (t=13.71, p<.001). Conclusion: Results suggest that delirium education is an effective tool to improve knowledge of delirium, importance of nursing intervention, and nursing practice. Therefore, delirium education would be beneficial for general ward and recently graduated nurses as well as ICU and experienced nurses.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the job performance and educational needs, and recognition of professionalism among care workers, and to organize educational programs according to the priorities of care workers. Methods: The participants were 119 care workers who were working in long-term care facilities. Data were collected from May 31 to June 7, 2019 using self-report questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA, and Spearman's Correlation Coefficients. Results: The performance aspects of the job were as follows: care for safety and infection-related, communication and leisure support, and excretion. The most demanded educational needs were in first-aid. Care workers had more than average professional recognition. Job performance and educational needs, and recognition of professionalism differed significantly according to several general characteristics. Conclusions: The educational needs of the areas with low frequency of job performance were high. First-aid is low in frequency, but it is important to cope with emergencies, so it is necessary to continue education. Also, there is a difference in recognition of professionalism according to the career. It will be necessary to develop individualized education programs to meet the needs of care workers.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with stress related to home mechanical ventilator (HMV) care in general ward nurses. Methods: The study participants were 110 general ward nurses. Data on participant characteristics, level of knowledge, education needs, coping ability in emergency situations, confidence, and stress were collected from August 1 to 30, 2018 using a structured questionnaire by web-based surveys. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 20.0 for descriptive statistics and independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Significant factors associated with stress related to HMV care were ward career, intensive care unit (ICU) career, intensive care room (ICR) career, education experience, and satisfaction level of HMV education. Stress had negative correlations with confidence and positive correlations with education needs. The determining factors affecting stress related to HMV care in the general ward were confidence (${\beta}=-.31$, p=.004), ICR career (${\beta}=-.27$, p<.001), education needs (${\beta}=.24$, p=.005), education frequency (${\beta}=-.18$, p=.040), and ICU career (${\beta}=-.18$, p=.025); their explanation power was about 41.8%. Conclusions: It is necessary to develop HMV care training manuals and guidelines and consider ICU or ICR careers for patient safety.
