A Parametric Analysis of Performance of Gas Turbine Combined, Split Cylinder, Constant Volume, Pressure, Temperature, Mixed Cycle Engine (가스터빈 결합, 분리실린더, 등적.등압.등온 혼합사이클 엔진성능의 변수 분석)

  • Analyzed Parametrically was an internal combustion engine combined with gas turbine the cycle of which is splitted into compression side cylinder and expansion side one, and heat adding of which is during constant volume pressure, temperature process. The advantages of each measures were analyzed by means of thermal cycle diagram. The thermal efficiency of partial load cutting off firstly isothermal heat adding and secondly isobaric heat adding also was analyzed The authors suggested some potentials about the performance as for thermal efficiency, mean effective pressure and reducing emissions and noise supposed were the operating parameter of the engine set to some values and were some problems solved.

Numerical Optimization of the Coolant Flow Rates through Cylinder Head Gasket Holes by applying CFD Techniques (CFD 기법을 이용한 실린더헤드 가스켓홀 통과 유량의 최적화)

  • Simple design methods were developed to control the coolant flow rates through cylinder head gasket holes. Applying the concept of flow through an obstruction the ratio of intake to exhaust side flow rates could be easily controlled while maintaining the flow rates per cylinder of the original model. Flow distribution in the coolant passage of the original model was calculated by CFD and the flow rates at the gasket holes were modified based on the calculation results. The calculated flow rated of the modified gasket holes were reasonably close to target values. For more accurate control of the flow rate distribution, a design method with iterative CFD calculations was also suggested. The final size of gasket holes for the target flow rates were obtained just after a few optimization iterations. These methods can be very useful for the optimization of heat transfer characteristics in engine cylinder head and block.

  • An experimental study of the air flow through inlet pipe of reciprocating two-cycle engine was investigated under motored condition. Measurements of the two components of velocity, velocity fluctuation, and the other behavior of inlet flow have been obtained by laser Doppler anemometer system. The research engine comprised the cylinder head of a two-cycle engine which mounted on optical spacer with measuring window and glass inlet entry for laser anemometer measurement. A dual beam laser Doppler anemometer was used with conventional forward scattered method and comprised argon-ion laser, frequency shifter with Bragg cell module, and the signal processor. Measurements of mean velocity fluctuation of inlet flow for different engine speeds, measuring positions, and the changes in cylinder volume are investigated. The results presented show that the changes in engine speed is shown to be strongly influenced on the mean velocity of inlet air. The effect of measuring position and cylinder volume on the inlet velocity was also investigated for the inlet port entry and is shown to be small compared to the engine speed.

  • Finite element analysis of cylinder heat/block compound under assembly, thermal and firing condition were performed. FE model including two cylinders with gasket, head bolts, liners and valve seats was used. FE modeling method and boundary conditions were introduced. Stress distribution and deformation of cylinder head and block under each loading condition were presented. Gasket pressure distribution and bore distortion level were predicted. Measured data of bore distortion was compared with the analysis results. The analysis result showed similar trends with the experimental data. High cycle fatigue analysis on the basis of this result has been performed in order to find the critical areas of the engine assembly.

  • 디이젤 엔진은 피스톤이 실린더 내를 왕복 운동하면서 압축행정에서 연료의 연소에 의해 발생된 고열을 받아 고온에서 작동되기 때문에 피스톤 헤드에서 받은 열은 속히 아래부분으로 전달시 키고 동시에 실린더 벽으로 전달되게 하여야 한다. 여기서 열이 문제가 되는 요소를 생각해 보면, (1) 고압 : 연소 최고폭발압력이 높기 때문에 압력상승률도 커져 격렬한 연소상태가 된다. (2) 고온 : 격심한 가스 유동과 실린더 직경이 크기 때문에 피스톤 헤드부의 온도가 높아진다. (3) 연소생성물 중에 엔진 및 윤활유에 악 영향을 주는 성분이 많다. (4) 경량, 저가격 구조 때문에 열적 및 역학적 변형이 일어나기 쉽다. (5) 사용조건이 가혹해 연료가 이상 현상을 가져온다. 위의 요소들을 가지고 온도의 분포, 열의 전달과정, 피스톤 냉각 등에 대해서 알아본다.

Development of 10 μmol/mol Hydrogen Sulfide Primary Standard Gas for Odor Measurements (악취측정용 10 μmol/mol 황화수소 표준가스 개발)

  • Hydrogen sulfide from landfill and sewage treatment plant is a major odor component and causes many civil petitions. Rapidly developing industries release hydrogen sulfide, an odorous gas, to the atmosphere. This study aims to develop a $10{\mu}mol/mol$ concentration level hydrogen sulfide primary standard gas for odor measurement. The hydrogen sulfide gas was prepared at a nominal concentration of $10{\mu}mol/mol$ in nitrogen using the gravimetric method described in ISO 6142. Replicate standard gases were produced in 4 aluminium cylinders, and their concentrations were verified by GC-AED. The uncertainty of production was less than 0.50 %, and the variation of the 4 replicates was 0.22 %. The wall adsorption of hydrogen sulfide in cylinders was 0.10 % at 1500 psi, and the concentration was estimated to be long-term stable for one year. The relative expanded uncertainty of the preparation consistency, adsorption and long-term stability of this hydrogen sulfide standard gas was less than 1.05 % (95 % of confidence level, k=2).

  • 21C 정보화시대를 맞이하여 반도체 산업이 급속하게 발전함에 따라 컴퓨터를 활용만 효율성이 높은 유틸리티 관리 시스템(New Utility Management System) 기술이 중요시 되는 추세이다. 본 연구에서는 반도체 공정의 가스 케비넷 또는 BSGS(Bulk Specity Gases System) 등에 사용되는 실린더 등의 교체 후 Tubing 등에 남아있는 잔여가스를 효과적으로 제거하기 위한 잔여가스제거 지적결정시스템을 구현하였다. 이를 통하여 각 공정에 필요한 독성가스의 종류에 따른 퍼지가스의 종류 및 횟수를 결정하였으며, 이 결과는 운전 및 관리의 효율성 증대와 에너지 절감을 위하여 매우 유익하게 활용될 것이다.

  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas is divided into liquefied gases containing propane (C3H8) and butane (C4H10). The quality of LPG varies greatly depending on the composition of the mixture, so it is important to measure the composition accurately. It is difficult to determine the composition of the mixture because liquid and gas coexist at room temperature. Therefore, the uncertainty in determining the concentration of hydrocarbons by component is high, and there are many problems that differ from the actual content standard. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a mixed liquid propane standard gas for the composition and accurate concentration of hydrocarbon substances. Mixed liquid propane standard gas is manufactured into bellows-type constant-pressure cylinders by ISO-6142 (2015). The homogeneity of the four standard gases manufactured was confirmed to be GC-FID. The manufacturer's uncertainty of expansion was 0.01 % to 0.30 % and homogeneity was 0.03 % to 0.25 %. In this mixed liquid propane standard gas, the relative expansion uncertainty of weight method, manufacturing consistency, cylinder adsorption and long-term stability was developed within 0.26 %-1.3 9% (95% of confidence level, k=2).

  • 반도체의 생산공정은 생산제품의 특성상 많은 종류의 위험물과 가스를 이용하는 것이 보통이지만, 자동화가 이루어진 대부분의 작업공정과는 달리, 작업자에 의해 직접 이루어지는 것이 보통이다. 이때 작업자의 사소한 실수나 과오로 인해 일단 누출등의 사고가 발생하면, 취급물질 자체의 위험성으로 인해 인명 피해, 화재 및 폭발 둥의 2차 대형재해를 초래할 수 있기 때문에, 반도체공장의 어느 누구도 그 위험성에 대해 과소평가하지 않는 것이 현실이다. (중략)
