SPQUSAR : A Large-Scale Qualitative Spatial Reasoner Using Apache Spark (SPQUSAR : Apache Spark를 이용한 대용량의 정성적 공간 추론기)

  • In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a large-scale qualitative spatial reasoner using Apache Spark, an in-memory high speed cluster computing environment, which is effective for sequencing and iterating component reasoning jobs. The proposed reasoner can not only check the integrity of a large-scale spatial knowledge base representing topological and directional relationships between spatial objects, but also expand the given knowledge base by deriving new facts in highly efficient ways. In general, qualitative reasoning on topological and directional relationships between spatial objects includes a number of composition operations on every possible pair of disjunctive relations. The proposed reasoner enhances computational efficiency by determining the minimal set of disjunctive relations for spatial reasoning and then reducing the size of the composition table to include only that set. Additionally, in order to improve performance, the proposed reasoner is designed to minimize disk I/Os during distributed reasoning jobs, which are performed on a Hadoop cluster system. In experiments with both artificial and real spatial knowledge bases, the proposed Spark-based spatial reasoner showed higher performance than the existing MapReduce-based one.

  • This paper presents a prototype for virtual reality operating system (VR OS) concept with head mount display (HMD) and hand gesture recognition technology based on game engine (Unity3D). We have designed and implemented simple multitasking thread mechanism constructed on the realtime environment provided by Unity3D game engine. Our virtual reality operating system receives user input from the hand gesture recognition device (Leap Motion) to simulate mouse and keyboard and provides output via head mount display (Oculus Rift DK2). As a result, our system provides users with more broad and immersive work environment by implementing 360 degree work space.

  • 최근 많이 활용되고 있는 라즈베리파이에 기반한 임베디드 시스템을 구축함에 있어서 사용자는 회로에 대한 이해와 하드웨어 비용이라는 측면에서 어려움을 갖게 되는 경우가 많다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시스템을 가상으로 테스트할 수 있는 솔루션을 제안하고자 한다. 개발된 프로그램은 사용자가 실제 회로를 구성하는 것과 같이 가상의 공간에서 모듈을 배치하고 모듈 간에 선을 연결하는 것으로 회로를 구성하고 동작을 테스트할 수 있다 프로그램은 회로편집기, 인터프리터, 시뮬레이터의 세 가지 요소로 구성되어 있으며 전체 9개의 모듈을 제공하고 있다. 각각의 모듈은 제조사에서 제공하는 데이터 시트와 제원을 바탕으로 실제 회로 테스트를 거쳐 추상화하는 작업을 수행하였다. 개발된 프로그램의 품질수준을 한층 끌어올린다면 비용절감과 학습, 교육 측면에서 유용하게 이용될 수 있으며, 전기물리엔진의 구현, 실제 보드로 포팅이 가능한 수준의 인터프리터, 시뮬레이션 로직의 일반화가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • IStorage is a technology, which can use resources of server PC by using Android Phone supporting wireless internet access. IStorage utilizes resources of server PC through WebDAV protocol. And with GUI interface, Users upload their resources to the server PC and They can perform various kinds of works like Opening, Searching, Deleting and Downloading files. Since it is possible for them to use resources of server PC as if they are originally stored in their mobile devices, there is no limit on using the functions such as watching movies, listening musics and opening document files in real time. We expect this study can to overcome the limitation of storage space and also be a useful technology in the smart phone market.

  • As the advancement of technologies on indoor positioning systems and measuring devices such as LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) and cameras, the demands on analyzing and searching indoor spaces and visualization services via virtual and augmented reality have rapidly increasing. To this end, it is necessary to model 3D objects from measured data from real-world structures. In addition, it is important to store these structured data in standardized formats to improve the applicability and interoperability. In this paper, we propose a method to construct IndoorGML data, which is an international standard for indoor modeling, from point cloud data acquired from LiDAR sensors. After examining considerations that should be addressed in IndoorGML data, we present a construction method, which consists of free space extraction and connectivity detection processes. With experimental results, we demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively reconstruct the 3D model from point cloud.

  • A marketing platform based on the legal deposit system was designed. It is an e-book distribution platform that systematically binds library networks nationwide by linking with the National Library's deposit system to complete the existing paper that the library should become a publishing platform. The purpose is to bundle e-books into a distribution space and naturally assemble readers to serve as virtual platforms for domestic publishers, authors, bookstores, and platforms running various publishing / subscribing services. The premise is not a sale of e-books, but a rental concept, but the platform is valid regardless. In addition, the platform takes the form of social cooperatives to represent the interests of all members involved in publishing services. The lead-based distribution platform is the most ideal business model to compromise with reality. Conceptually, the service of the publishing content-related industry is a model in which all content is supplied from the lead-bone system, which is a collaborative space, and technically, the central e-book database controls the flow of all content, but the publishing content-related industry takes the form of controlling its flow through virtual.

  • According to the dictionary definition Augmented Reality Technology is "an enhanced version of reality where live direct or indirect views of physical real-world environments are augmented with superimposed computer-generated images over a user's view of the real-world, thus enhancing one's current perception of reality". Since civilian property damages, noise and accidents during the field exercise by military or drills so that AR technology are indispensible with small units drills in Army. However because AR technology which Army has adopted are usually use for special units or need separate spaces which costs lots of budgets, those are not fit for small unit drills or tactics in regular Army. In this regards this paper suggests the AR technology which can apply small unit drill field and the efficiency and legal concerns thereof as well.

  • As internet users swiftly increased in number, both collaborations and communications on the Internet gradually increased. Accordingly, the importance of individualized service has been raised as user-centered service has been activated. As of now, there are many systems supporting collaboration based on the Web. Unfortunately, since the existing Web-based collaborative systems do not support individualized service, they do not provide effective collaboration for various kinds of users. In this paper, we describe the development of a collaboration portlet for the CoSlide collaborative system. The collaboration portlet provides various methods which control the resources of each workspace on the CoSlide server. As a component of a portal, the developed portlet provides effective collaborative environment satisfying various user requirements. Users can collaborate through the individualized interfaces which are composed by portlets on a portal for their own working environment.

  • Virtual Instrument는 컴퓨터를 Main controller로 두어 사용자가 필요로 하는 요소들을 연결하여 컴퓨터 속의 가상 공간에 사용자가 정의한 instrument를 구현하는 것을 그 기본 개념으로 한다. Virtual Instrument를 통하여 사용자는 여러 기능 및 함수를 소프트웨어적으로 추가할 수 있어 기존 방식에 비하여 보다 효율적으로 시스템 업그레이드 및 최적화를 수행할 수 있다. 또한 컴퓨터의 성능이 향상됨에 따라 Virtual Instrument의 성능도 증가하게 되는 기술적 이점을 얻을 수 있고 사용환경이 누구에게나 익숙하기 때문에 작업의 효율을 극대화시킬 수 있다 이러한 여러 효율성에 근거하여 나온 개념이 컴퓨터 기반의 제어 및 모니터링으로써 향후 네트워크 기술을 수용하여 더욱 발전될 것으로 전망되고 있다.
