An Adaptive Pruning Threshold Algorithm for the Korean Address Speech Recognition (한국어 주소 음성인식의 고속화를 위한 적응 프루닝 문턱치 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a new adaptative pruning algorithm which effectively reduces the search space during the recognition process. As maximum probabilities between neighbor frames are highly interrelated, an efficient pruning threshold value can be obtained from the maximum probabilities of previous frames. The main idea is to update threshold at the present frame by a combination of previous maximum probability and hypotheses probabilities. As present threshold is obtained in on-going recognition process, the algorithm does not need any pre-experiments to find threshold values even when recognition tasks are changed. In addition, the adaptively selected threshold allows an improvement of recognition speed under different environments. The proposed algorithm has been applied to a Korean Address recognition system. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm reduces the search space of average 14.4% and 9.14% respectively while preserving the recognition accuracy, compared to the previous method of using fixed pruning threshold values and variable pruning threshold values.

Development of Turbine Mass Flow Rate Model for Variable Geometry Turbocharger Using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 가변 기구 터보차저의 터빈 질량유량 모델링)

  • In this paper, we propose a turbine mass flow rate model for a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) using an artificial neural network (ANN). The model predicts the turbine mass flow rate using the VGT vane position, engine rotational speed, exhaust manifold pressure, exhaust manifold temperature, and turbine outlet pressure. The ANN is used for the estimation of the effective flow area. In order to validate the results estimated by the proposed model, we have compared estimation results with engine experimental results. The results, in addition, represent improved estimation accuracy when compared with the performance using the turbine map.

  • Recently, due to the rapid development of Power Electronics, the usage of Non Linear Load variable frequency drivers (VFDs) is increasing in the electric propulsion vessels and offshore plants. And harmonics which is generated by the variable frequency drives is an important issue should be solved. Ac line reactors and dc link reactors are widely used in variable frequency drives to improve the drive performance such as reducing input current harmonics, elevating input power factor, and protecting the drives from surges, etc. The effectiveness of both types of reactors in reducing input harmonics is affected by the loading of the drives and the system source impedance. And it considered that inductance of DC link reactors should be about 1.7 times of AC line reactors for same effect. The rules to evaluate the needs and effectiveness using ac line or dc link reactors are proposed for practical appications. In this paper, a simulation is performed to investigate of such factors using software PSIM.

Power Amplifier Module for Envelope Tracking WCDMA Base-Station Applications (포락선 추적 WCDMA 기지국 응용을 위한 전력증폭기 모듈)

  • In this paper, a power amplifier module for WCDMA base-station applications is designed and implemented using GaN field-effect transistors (FETs), which uses an envelope tracking bias system. The designed module consists of an high gain MMIC amplifier, a driver amplifier, a power amplifier, and bias circuits for envelope tracking applications. Especially, a FET bias sequencing circuit and two isolators are integrated for stable RF operations. All circuits are assembled within a single housing, so its dimension is just $17.8{\times}9.8{\times}2.0\;cm3$. Measured results show that the developed power amplifier module has good envelope tracking capability: the power-added efficiency of 35% at the output power range from 30dBm to 40dBm over a wide range of drain bias.

  • We design a CMOS front-end with wide variable gain and low power consumption for 5.25 GHz band. To obtain wide variable gain range, a p-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (PMOS FET) in the low noise amplifier (LNA) section is connected in parallel. For a mixer, single balanced and folded structure is employed for low power consumption. Using this structure, the bias currents of the transconductance and switching stages in the mixer can be separated without using current bleeding path. The proposed front-end has a maximum gain of 33.2 dB with a variable gain range of 17 dB. The noise figure and third-order input intercept point (IIP3) are 4.8 dB and -8.5 dBm, respectively. For this operation, the proposed front-end consumes 7.1 mW at high gain mode, and 2.6 mW at low gain mode. The simulation results are performed using Cadence RF spectre with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CMOS technology.)

  • Many image and video compression algorithms work by splitting the input image into blocks and producing variable-length coded bits for each block data. If variable-length coded data are transmitted consecutively, then the resulting coder is highly sensitive to channel errors. Therefore, most image and video techniques for providing some protection to the stream against channel errors usually involve adding a controlled amount of redundancy back into the stream. Such redundancy might take the form of resynchronization markers, which enable the decoder to restart the decoding process from the known state, in the event of transmission errors. The Error Resilient Entropy Code (EREC) is a well known method which can regain synchronization without any redundant information to convert from variable-length code to fixed-length code. This paper proposes an enhancement to EREC, which greatly improves its transmission ability for the compressed image quality without any redundant bits in the event of errors. The simulation result shows that the both objective and subjective quality of transmitted image is enhanced compared with the existing EREC at the same BER(Bit Error Rate).

  • With the increasing supply of vehicles, construction of new roads and expansion of existing roads are growing and this is leading to a proportional rise in diverse hazards on a road. These hazards are classified into fixed hazards and variable hazards. Currently, drivers receive information of fixed hazards, such as overspeed, frequent accidents, and rock fall through navigations. However, variable hazards are more hazardous than fixed hazards. Map companies frequently enter information of variable hazards manually, but it is less real-time and hard to deal with unforseen hazards. This paper is intended to implement a road hazard warning system for making a contribution to pubic interests by improving this problem and delivering real-time information of hazards to drivers, and suggest a direction for using information of hazards on a road.

  • SONY corporation preoccupies $80\%$ of a market of the CCD used in a CCTV system. The CCD of SONY have high duality which can not follow the progress of capability. But there are some problems which differ the clock frequency used in CCD from the frequency used in common video encoder. To get the result by using common video encoder, the system needs a scaler that could adjust image size and PLL that synchronizes CCD's with encoder's clock So, this paper proposes the video encoder that is activated at equal clock used in CCD without scaler and PLL. The encoder converts ITU-R BT.601 4:2:2 or ITU-R BT.656 inputs from various video sources into NTSC or PAL signals in CVBS. Due to variable clock, property of filters used in the encoder is automatically changed by clock and filters adopt multiplier-free structures to reduce hardware complexity. The hardware bit width of programmable digital filters for luminance and chrominance signals, along with other operating blocks, are carefully determined to produce hish-quality digital video signals of ${\pm}1$ LSB error or less. The proposed encoder is experimentally demonstrated by using the Altera Stratix EP1S80B953C6ES device.

Design of 0.5V Electro-cardiography (전원전압 0.5V에서 동작하는 심전도계)

  • In this paper, electrocardiogram (ECG) analog front end with supply voltage of 0.5V has been designed and verified by measurements of fabricated chip. ECG is composed of instrument amplifier, 6th order gm-C low pass filter and variable gain amplifier. The instrument amplifier is designed to have gain of 34.8dB and the 6th order gm-C low pass filter is designed to obtain the cutoff frequency of 400Hz. The operational transconductance amplifier of the low pass filter utilizes body-driven differential input stage for low voltage operation. The variable gain amplifier is designed to have gain of 6.1~26.4dB. The electrocardiogram analog front end are fabricated in TSMC $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process with chip size of $858{\mu}m{\times}580{\mu}m$. Measurements of the fabricated chip is done not to saturate the gain of ECG by changing the external resistor and measured gain of 28.7dB and cutoff frequency of 0.5 - 630Hz are obtained using the supply voltage of 0.5V.

Improvement of Recognition Speed for Real-time Address Speech Recognition (실시간 주소 음성인식을 위한 인식 시스템의 인식속도 개선)

  • 본 논문에서는 본 연구실에서 개발한 주소 음성인식 시스템의 인식 속도를 개선시키기 위하예 새로운 가변 프루닝 문턱치를 적용하는 방법을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 그 유효성을 확인하였다. 기존의 가변 프루닝 문턱치는 일정 프레임이 경과하면 일정 값을 가진 문턱치를 계속하여 감소시켜나가는 방법을 반복하기 때문에, 불필요한 탐색공간을 탐색하게 된다. 본 논문에서 새로이 제안하는 가변 프루닝 문턱치를 채용하는 방법은 처음 일정 구간이 경과되면 일정 문턱치를 감소시키나, 다음 일정 프레임에서는 탐색되어야할 후보에 따라서 문턱치를 변화시켜 프루닝시키기 때문에 탐색공간을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다. 제안된 방법의 유효성을 확인하기 위하여, 본 연구실에서 개발한 한국어 주소 입력 시스템에 적용하였다. 이 시스템은 48개의 연속 HMM 유사음소단위(Phoneme Like Units; PLUs)를 인식의 기본단위로 하고, .사용환경 변화에 의한 인식성능의 저하를 최소화하기 위해 최대사후 확률추정법(Maximum A Posteriori Probability Estimation; MAP)을 사용하며, 인식알고리즘으로는OPDP(One Pass Dynamic Programming)법을 이용하고 있다. 남성화자 3인에 의한 75개의 연결주소명을 이용하여 인식 실험을 수행한 결과 고정 프루닝 문턱치를 적용한 경우 인식률은 평균 $96.0\%$, 인식 시간은 5.26초였고, 기존의 가변 프루닝 문턱치의 경우 인식률은 평균 $96.0\%$, 인식 시간은 5.1초인 데 비하여, 새로운 가변 프루닝 문턱치를 적용찬 경우에는 인식률 저하없이 인식 시간이 4.34초로, 기존에 비해 각각 0.92초, 0.76초 인식 시간이 감소되어 제안한 방법의 유효성을 확인할 수 있었다.는 달리 각 산란 영역에서 그 지수는 1씩 작은 값을 갖는다.향에 따라 음장변화가 크게 다를 것이 예상되므로 이를 규명하기 위해서는 궁극적으로 3차원적인 음장분포 연구가 필요하다. 음향센서를 해저면에 매설할 경우 수충의 수온변화와 센서 주변의 수온변화 사이에는 어느 정도의 시간지연이 존재하게 되므로 이에 대한 영향을 규명하는 것도 센서의 성능예측을 위해서 필요하리라 사료된다.가지는 심부 가스의 개발 성공률을 증가시키기 위하여 심부 가스가 존재하는 지역의 지질학적 부존 환경 및 조성상의 특성과 생산시 소요되는 생산비용을 심도에 따라 분석하고 생산에 수반되는 기술적 문제점들을 정리하였으며 마지막으로 향후 요구되는 연구 분야들을 제시하였다. 또한 참고로 현재 심부 가스의 경우 미국이 연구 개발 측면에서 가장 활발한 활동을 전개하고 있으며 그 결과 다수의 신뢰성 있는 자료들을 확보하고 있으므로 본 논문은 USGS와 Gas Research Institute(GRI)에서 제시한 자료에 근거하였다.ऀĀ耀Ā삱?⨀؀Ā Ā?⨀ጀĀ耀Ā?돀ꢘ?⨀硩?⨀ႎ?⨀?⨀넆돐쁖잖⨀쁖잖⨀/ࠐ?⨀焆덐瀆倆Āⶇ퍟ⶇ퍟ĀĀĀĀ磀鲕좗?⨀肤?⨀⁅Ⴅ?⨀쀃잖⨀䣙熸ጁ↏?⨀
