An Analysis Locational Value of the Commercial Facilities by the Internalization of Street (가로의 내부화에 따른 상가 입지가치 분석)

  • Large scale composition facility gives in commerce and space structure effect. therefore, this study will estimating locational value of the commercial facilities by separating space analyze to the topological property, predict a pattern and distribution of passenger's routes through the space syntax on the basis of analysis about the topological property which quantitatively using a estimating tool. Moreover, this study should suggest some of present issues at the aspects of inside city plan and design fitting the internalization of street for propelling efficient the locational strategy.

  • The purpose of this study is to define U-Eco City services and to analyze the possibility and easiness of application in urban space. The most significant meaning of this study is that these results could be used as the design and planning guidelines for integrated U-Eco City. This study progress as follows; First, U-Eco City concept and their services were defined and the spatial units of U-Eco City were distinguished through literature review. Second, U-Eco City spaces are classified into four levels such as building, street, facility and district. Finally, the application of U-Eco city services was analyzed together by the statistical technique of cross-tabulation. 35.7% of U-city services was serviced in urban district and 38.8% of Eco City services was applied to Building. U-City and/or Eco city services were adapted differently according to the urban spatial hierarchy. Those services should be applied in terms of the characteristics of urban space in designing and planning U-Eco City.

  • 작년 7월, 강병근 건국대 건축공학과 명예교수가 제4대 서울시 총괄건축가로 위촉돼 활동 중(임기 2년)이다. 서울시 총괄건축가는 도시와 건축관련 정책, 디자인 등 시의 건축사업 전관을 총괄 기획·조정한다. 강병근 서울시 총괄건축가는 지난 5월 18일 본지와의 인터뷰에서 100년 후 도시가 나아갈 방향을 담은 마스터플랜을 계획하는 것이 급선무라 밝히며 관련 계획을 수립 중이라고 밝혔다. 또한 체계적 시스템의 부재로 인한 아쉬움을 지적하고, 서울건축기본계획 등의 시스템 구축과 공공의 도시공간을 위한 실현 방안 등을 계획·정리 중이라고 밝혔다. 아울러 단순한 행정기획이 아닌 선제계획의 중요성을 강조하며 중앙·지방정부부터 기초단체까지 시티아키텍트, 즉 시티플래너가 있어야 한다고 언급했다.

  • Fast developing digital technology is Having an enormous societal influence, creating a porous new world without boundaries. This phenomenon applies to a whole range of fields, including culture, politics and even our daily lives. Urban Street cannot be excluded from this world-transforming change. Digital technology is changing the physical structure, growing patterns, function and role of the Urban Street. As a result, Urban Street should now be freeing themselves from the old-world functionalism, which has been pursued uniformly under the names of rationality and efficiency. We have, then, to think about the culture of the Digital Urban Street,'that is, the digital life style, which is tangibly generated in the concrete city space, and which must be prepared for further digitalization. This paper argues that the street must be understood as a communications centre, because digital technology has created a new communications style. Also, this paper focuses on how the physical environment of Urban Street will evolve with regard to both function and appearance. In conclusion, studying the ubiquitous space, it also looks at how existing urban planning and space design should lead to the further development of Urban Street using digital technology, as well as to the role this technology will have in the future.

The Study of BIFF Street Renovation Plan (부산 영화의 거리 조성계획)

  • This study is the renovation plan for BIFF(Busan International Film Festival) street themed movies, which is an internationally known film festival. The aim of this is the regional economic vitalization. The first step of the plan sets up position through the case study of the Theme Street. The theme for each road space is related with movies and realizes the unificative images for each road. Images between the Busan Cinema Center and BUSAN MARINA are introduction of the road and the subject of this road is greeting with movies. The history of movies are printed on the pavement, some sections are made with red blocks for recollecting the red carpet. The next section from the BUSAN MARINA to MARINE CITY is set up being close with movies. In this section, sculptures of filmmaking and theme benches are installed for indirect experiences. The theme from MARINE CITY to DONGBAEK ISLANDS is playing and enjoying with movies. It is made more fun with the installation of super graphic and trick art. The theme from DONGBAEK ISLANDS to HAEUNDAE is farewell with movies. It is expressed by music on pavement and musical fountain. The last section in the theme road from HAEUNDAE to MOONTAN ROAD shows the concept memories after farewell. It is a half way to Moonten Road. The Milky Way pavement and Milky Way square are made by installing the optical fibers.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the character of concerned local area through using roadside space that is space for daily experience of citizen as target, extracting symbolic image reconsidering the historical and cultural character and clarifying the local identity on the basis of it. Through applying image of local symbolism and future-oriented roadside to street furniture, I tried to express local symbolism and through composing symbolic roadside of local that can be newly recognized as unique street, I tried to give a local symbolism and compose active roadside environment. Through providing basic material and actual design example, this paper tried to activate characterized local culture. As the method to approach design of symbolic roadside, the researcher divided local symbolic image into present local image and future-oriented image through selecting the roadside that historical element is lost and urbanization is achieved as target. The researcher characterized local roadside, using street furniture as symbolic tool of future-oriented roadside on the basis of symbolic image extracted from image evaluation testing. This paper has the meaning to suggest one direction for extracting symbolism when organizing distinguished roadside through applying symbolic image to roadside environmental facility, helping for of local resident's sense of place, his self-esteem and love for his hometown and public authority's establishing and promoting the policy concerned to the context of this paper.

The Effect of Street Gardens on Psychological Restoration (도심 가로정원의 심리적 회복효과에 관한 연구)

  • Street gardens, a series of streetscape improvement projects led by Seoul City Government, are initiated for the purpose of providing aesthetic satisfaction and mental refreshment to pedestrians. In order to investigate whether street gardens indeed promote the psychological health of the users, questionnaire surveys were conducted on three selected street gardens - at Gangnam-daero, Digital-ro, and Teheranro - and their comparison sites located on the same streets, which have a similar physical environment but without a street garden. The survey questionnaires, based on Attention Restoration Theory, were composed of Perceived Restorativeness Scale-11 with the eleven individual questions grouped into four categories: 'Fascination', 'Being away', 'Coherence', and 'Scope'. The survey questionnaires also ask about physical components that promote psychological improvement in the aforementioned categories. The collected data was analyzed with factor analysis, reliability analysis, and independent t-test. The results suggested that street gardens had a relatively positive effect on the psychological restorativeness of the users. In particular, they gave fascination and interest to the users. However, they did not offer a feeling of being away to the users, which revealed the limitation in the psychological improvement effect of street gardens. The physical components of the street garden that have led the psychological restorativeness effect were wooden bench, tree, and flower. This result corresponds to an extant theory that natural factors have a positive effect on the psychological restorativeness within a hardscape. This research will shed light on the planning and design guidelines for the street garden project.

  • Display in commercial space is one of the most important fields in modem advanced industrial sectors as means of promoting the volume of sales. Additionally, consummers' preferences are more complicated and various than before because of improvement of quality of life. In order to satisfy the various comsumer's desire, the role of display must be an important factor in commercial space. On the other hand, the facade of commercial buildings in the concept of visual merchandising has important effect on the commercial space such as layout of a shop, setting up presentation space, and visual expression. The structure of the facade of the store provides not only an advertising function but also an important position to the composition of external space. Besides, enterance space is a part of a store, and it is closely related to outdoor space. Therefore, the relationship between a store and outdoor space should be carefully considered in terms of functional and expressional problems.This study introduces all sort of characteristics of the facade of enterance speac in the commercial buildings. It also investigates the relationship among the characteristics. Moreover, it analyzes the effect of facade style on shop environment such as zonning, inducement plan, and allocation plan. For the purpose of this study, 57 fashion stores, located in Myung-Dong(Seoul), are investigated. Based on the sample, this study analyzes the relationship between the facade style and visual presentation. Finally, it suggests the desirable direction of space composition based upon the concept of visual merchandising.

Change of Seoul's Downtown Planning: Focusing on Urban Conservation from the 1960s to the 1990s (서울시 도심 계획 방식의 변화: 1960년대부터 1990년대의 도시보전을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand changes in Seoul's downtown planning from the 1960s to 1990s. The approach was examined by classifying its formation process though urban conservation. The effects of modernization and urbanization on Seoul's downtown planning were as follows. In the 1960s, Seoul attempted to decentralize urban functions due to excessive population. In the 1970s, a policy to diversify urban functions according to Gangnam development was enacted. In the 1980s, the existing downtown declined, and the sub-downtown grew with changing urban functions. In the 1990s, the identity of the existing downtown was recognized through the Seoul Memorial Project. This study also analyzed downtown planning efforts concerned with urban conservation. First, the physical aspects of existing buildings and street facilities were maintained. Second, the spatial aspects for the maintenance of surrounding areas were proposed. Fourth, the social aspects for accessibility by Seoul citizens was improved. This analysis demonstrates the concept of urban conservation based on physical-spatial-social aspects.

Evaluation for the application of WRF meteorological data on grid-based soil moisture model in upland (WRF 기상자료의 밭 토양 물수지 모형 적용 및 효과 분석)

  • 밭에서의 점적 관개를 이용한 노지 재배의 경우 적정 관개 계획 수립을 위해서는 작물 및 토양의 수분 정보에 대한 정확한 파악이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 밭 토양을 GIS(Geographic Information System)를 통해 격자 형태로 분할하여 작물의 증발산량 및 토양의 수분함량을 모의할 수 있는 격자 기반 토양 물수지 모형을 개발하였다. 본 모형을 통해 작물의 소비수량 및 필요 수량을 파악함으로써 작부기간 중 필요한 관개수량을 제시하는 것이 가능하다. 고도화 기상자료로는 국가농림기상센터에서 운영 중인 고해상도 WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting) 모형에서 생산된 격자 형태의 복사, 온도, 바람, 강수 자료를 사용하였고 고도화 기상자료의 격자 해상도 별로 모의되는 작물 및 토양의 수분 정보 간 비교 및 분석을 실시하였다. 토양 물수지 모형에 입력되는 격자형태의 자료로는 기상, 토성 및 토지이용 자료가 있으며 기상자료의 경우 가로 및 세로의 크기가 각 270, 810, 2430m로 동일한 3가지 경우로 나누어 적용했으며 토성 및 토지이용 자료의 경우 기상 격자의 최소 크기에 맞춰 가로 및 세로의 크기가 각 270m인 격자로 분할하였다. 이와 같은 과정에 의한 모의 결과 각 격자별 작물 증발산량, 토양수분함량 및 관개수량의 일 연별 시계열 자료를 얻을 수 있으며 동시간대 격자별 수문인자 값을 산정하고 위치에 따른 공간적 상호 상관성을 분석하였다. 결과적으로, 고도화 기상자료의 격자 크기에 따른 밭 토양 물수지 분석 결과를 통해 고도화 기상 격자의 규모별 밭 토양 물수지 분석 효용성을 파악하고자 하였다. 더불어, 시험 지역(Test Bed) 선정을 통해 토양수분 및 증발산량을 실측하고 본 모형의 모의 결과와 비교함으로써 검정하는 것을 향후 연구 계획으로 한다.
