The Study on Relationship of Amblyopia and Astigmatism (약시와 난시와의 관계 연구)

  • For the prevention of amblyopia, early discover and treatment is very important. Therefore we evaluated the type and the degree of refractive errors of 39 children with anisometropic and refractive amblyopia aged 3 to 12 years, and studied the relationship of astigmatism and amblyopia. Astigmatism was found in 35 of 39 eyes. Of these 35 eyes, with the rule astigmatism was found in 30 eyes. The cylinderical power was distributed mostly from 0.50D to 6.50D and astigmatism did not appear to influence on the initial and final corrected visual acuity.

  • CISG article 74 establishes the general formula applicable in all cases where an aggrieved party is entitled to recover damages. It provides that damages for breach of contract comprise all losses, including loss of profits, caused by the breach, to the extent that these losses were foreseeable by the breaching party at the time the contract was concluded. An aggrieved party may claim under article 74 even if entitled to claim under article 75 or 76. The latter articles explicitly provide that an aggrieved party may recover additional damages under article 74. Articles 75 and 76 apply only in cases where the contract has been avoided. Article 75 measures damages concretely by reference to the price in a substitute transactions, while article 76 measures damages abstractly by reference to the current market price. Article 76 (1) provides that an aggrieved party may not calculate damages under article 76 if it has concluded a substitute transaction under article 75. If however, an aggrieved party concludes a substitute transaction for less than the contract quantity, both articles 75 and 76 may apply. Pursuant to article 77, damages recoverable under articles 74, 75 or 76 are reduced if it is established that the aggrieved party failed to mitigate losses. The reduction is the amount by which the loss should have been mitigated. Article 78 entitles a party to interest on the price and any other sum that is in arrears.

Goodness of Fit and Independence Tests for Major 8 Companies of Korean Stock Market (한국 주식시장 상위 8개사에 대한 적합도 검정 및 독립성 검정)

  • In this paper, we investigated the major 8 companies of Korean stock market, and carried out the goodness of fit and independence tests. We found out the distributions of absolute returns are closed to compressed exponential distribution. The parameters are dominant that 1 < ${\beta}$ < 2, followed by ${\beta}=1$(exponential distribution) and ${\beta}=2$(normal distribution). Meanwhile, we assured that most of the absolute returns for major 8 companies have relevance to each other by chi-square independence test.

  • 직접메탄올형 연료전지(Direct Methanol Fuel Cell)는 휴대용으로 사용할 수 있는 소형 전원용으로 주로 개발되고 있으며, 다양한 용도로 사용이 가능하다. 하지만 직접메탄올연료전지에서 전해질로 많이 쓰이는 Nafion막은 이를 통한 메탄올 크로스오버(Crossover) 때문에 연료전지의 성능을 제한시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Nafion 117를 사용하여 전극 면적 100cm2 의 DFMC용 MEA를 제작하고, 공기 유량을 3ml/mim으로 고정하고, 메탄올 유량을 2,3 ml/min로 각각 공기극와 연료극에 공급하여 온도변화(50, 60, 70, $80^{\circ}C$)에 따른 성능을 확인하였다. DMFC의 적당 반응 온도는 $70^{\circ}C$로 생각되고, 유량은 메탄올 2ml/min, 공기 3ml/min유량 공급시가 성능이 높게 나오는 결과를 얻으나 일정시간 지나면 성능이 메탄올 3ml/min, 공기 3ml/min유량 공급시 보다 성능이 떨어지는 현상이 일어나기 때문에 $70^{\circ}C$ 반응온도에 메탄올 3ml/min, 공기 3ml/min의 유량 공급이 본 논문에서 최적화된 성능을 내는 조건으로 사료된다.

The Studies for Forest Fire Danger Characteristic of Facilities in Wild Land Urban Interface (산림 인접시설의 산불 위험특성에 관한 연구)

  • 도시의 확대와 산림의 개발을 통해 산불은 산지의 피해뿐만 아니라, 인접지에도 피해를 입히고 있다. 이는 일반적인 사례가 되어, 이에 대한 연구는 반드시 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 경상북도의 울진군, 봉화군, 경주시를 대상으로 산림에 인접한 시설물의 빈도와 거리를 분석하여, 산불 발생 시 대피 및 진화 기준을 제시하고자 하였다. 조사 결과, 도시형으로 선정한 경주시가 전체 시설빈도가 가장 높았으며, 산악형으로 분류한 봉화군이 가장 빈도가 낮았다. 가옥의 빈도가 가장 높은 것으로 조사되었으며, 봉화군이 축사의 빈도가 특히 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 산림인접시설물의 산림과의 평균거리분석결과 산악형의 시설물의 평균 산림 인접 거리가 가장 가까우며, 도시형인 경주시의 인접거리가 가장 먼 것으로 조사되었다. 특히, 산악형(봉화 군)은 인접 시설의 산림과의 평균 거리가 100m이내인 것으로 조사되었으며, 산불 발생시 큰 피해가 예상되는 가옥, 의료/복지시설, 주유소, 축사 등 전 시설물의 산림인접 100m 이내 비율도 가장 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서, 산불 발생 시 인접지의 피해가능성이 높은 산림 이격 거리를 100m 이내로 가정할 경우, 봉화군의 경우 산불발생 시 피해가 클 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 연구를 보다 확대하여 향후 산불 발생에 대비한 지역단위 진화와 대피교범과 기준 제작으로 발전시키며, 인접지역 시설물에 대한 산림 위험 시설에 대한 정책수립의 근거로 삼아야 할 것으로 사료된다.

  • The flood damage due to heavy rainfall caused by not only geographical factor, but also social factors. In this paper we derived the flooding potential factors, and analyzed resident's understanding of flooding through the Tokai disaster of Japan, occurred in september 2000. Furthermore, the urban rate obtained by the data comparison between 1975 and 1985 using GIS is evaluated to estimate the effect of rainfall-runoff mechanism due to the urbanization. These efforts could be served as the information of flood damage for the communication with the residents and it would be helped the minimization of flood damage.

  • A prototype ultrasound sector B-scanner has been developed where the front-end hardware refers to all the necessary circuits for transmitting the ultrasound pulses into the human body and receiving the reflected echo signals from it. The front-end hardware can generally be divided into three parts, i.e., a pulse generator for insonification, a receiver which is responsible for processing of low-level analog signals, and a steering controller for driving the mechanical sector probe whose functions and design concepts are described in this paper. The front-end hardware is implemented which incorporates the following features: improvement of the axial resolution using a circuit which reduces the ring-down time, flexibility of generating time-gain compensation curve, and adoption of a one-chip microcomputer for generating the rate pulses based on the sensor output waveforms.

  • The histogram equalization algorithm is the most crucial algorithm for image enhancement. Since its direct hardware implementation always requires a divider or multiplier, its implementation cost tends to increas as the image resolution is increased or diverse image resolutions are handled. In this paper, we propose a divider-free reconstruction of histogram equalization algorithm and the corresponding hardware architecture. The logic synthesis results show that the proposed scheme can reduce the logic gate count by 84.2% compared to the conventional implementation example when the UXGA resolution is considered.

  • We studied field observation and countermeasure about the effluent of sediment and nutrient materials on the Okinawa Ishigaki Coast according rainy season. though this observation, we found out the analysis of outflow topography, intensity of rainfall and effects on the tide, the property of effluent materials etc. The sediment and nutrient concentration of the Okinawa Ishigaki coast are different on the regional sites according to vary with time variation of intensity of rainfall and the ebb and flow. We could confirm to vary with utilized waterways land area and distribution of surrounding vegetation.
