  • This study aimed to analyze the changes in the physics curriculum of elementary schools over the past years and to discuss the issues faced by the science curriculum for elementary education prior to the next curriculum revision. We analyzed changes in the elements of the contents from the 7th curriculum to the 2015 revised curriculum and reviewed studies conducted after the revision in 2015. Additionally, three professors majoring in physics education discussed the results of the curriculum analysis. The result indicates that content of the physics curriculum for elementary education was generally reduced after the 7th curriculum. Specifically, difficult concepts were omitted or designated to a higher school level. Concerns related to the science curriculum pertain to the content adequacy and difficulty of the current curriculum, its relationship with mathematics, connection between the Nuri curriculum and the integrated curriculum for the 1st and 2nd grades, and the achievement standard predicate problem.

  • This study was to conducted to explore predictors of emotional labor of clinical practice and resilience on professional identity in nursing students. The data were collected from September to December, 2021, for 142 nursing students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Satisfaction of major showed statistically significant differences in professional identity (F=19.97, p<.001). Professional identity was positively associated with resilience (r=.30, p<.001) and negatively associated with emotional labor (r=-.35, p<.001). Multiple regression analyses showed that satisfaction of major and emotional labor were statistically significant (𝛽=-.268, p<.001) in predicting professional identity with the explanatory power of 29.3%. To enhance professional identity in nursing students, it is necessary to develop strategies to improve their satisfaction of major and to provide educational programs for coping skill in managing their emotional labor in clinical practice.

  • With the importance for teachers of understanding students' strategies and providing appropriate feedback to their students, the purpose of this study is to analyze how prospective elementary teachers interpret and respond students' strategies for fraction tasks with number lines. The findings from analysis of 64 prospective teachers' responses were as follow. First, the prospective teachers in general could identify the students' understanding and errors based on their strategies, however, some prospective teachers overgeneralized students' mathematical thinking at a superficial level. Second, the prospective teachers could pose diverse tasks or activities for revising the students' errors, while some prospective teachers tried to correct students' errors by using only the area models. Based on these results, this study suggests for prospective teachers to have opportunities to understand elementary students' diverse problem strategies and to consider teaching methods with different fraction models.
