It is a family event, but is also seen as an opportunity to enhance relationships with relatives, colleagues, and friends. A banquet hall is chosen as preferred first birthday rite location, and participants are served a meal and receive gifts. Method : The subjects of this study were 71 general teachers from 8 elementary schools. Data were collected by the questionnaire during the period from March 19 to April 13, 2007. The data were analyzed through frequency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Independent Two samples t-test, paired T-test, One Way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation by SPSS win 12.0. Result : 1. It showed that 47.9%(34 persons) of general teachers answerd that they experienced emergencies in elementary school setting. Experienced emergencies were wounds(cut, laceration, abrasion etc.) 79.4%(27 persons), bleeding(including epistaxis) 64.7%(22 person), fracture(including dislocation, sprain) 44.1%(15 person), sting or bite 29.4%(10 persons). 2. • This study surveyed 171 police officers working in Jeollabuk-do to investigate their first aid knowledge and the need for education. The results showed that the correct answer rate for first aid knowledge among police officers was 75.61 points out of a possible 100 points. Additionally, 98.8% of respondents indicated a need for first aid training, expressing a preference for 2-hour sessions integrated with their work education. There was a statistically significant difference in the correct answer rate for first aid knowledge based on education level and experience in emergency situations, but no significant difference in the need for education was observed across respondents. The significance of this research lies in its provision of foundational data for first aid education among police officers, which can be instrumental in developing training programs and policies aimed at enhancing their first aid capabilities. Specifically, the study contributes to improving the effectiveness of police officers' responses in emergency situations by offering concrete suggestions on the content, method, and duration of first aid training. These findings underscore the necessity and importance of providing comprehensive and effective first aid training not only to police officers but to all first responders, emphasizing that such training is crucial for ensuring public safety.

  • Since the establishment of Security Business Act in 1976, the Korean private security industry has rapidly grown in the qualitative and quantitative aspects. In the circumstance, various roles of private security guards have been demanded. A private security guard as the first contactor of the users of multi-use facilities should first find an accident field situation and make a response when an accident occurs, and should give first aid as most as possible until emergency medical workers arrive. However, there is a lack of first-aid education for the private security guards who are responsible for the safety of facility users. Therefore, the purpose of this study is first to find how many times private security guards have job and first-aid education, and analyze how the education count influences their first-aid ability; secondly to analyze how private security guards' satisfaction with first-aid education influences their first-aid ability. To achieve the purpose, this researcher conducted a questionnaire survey on first-aid ability of the private security guards working in the metropolitan areas. For data analysis, Stata se/ 14.0ver was applied. For the analysis on validity and reliability, exploratory factor analysis was conducted and a Cronbach's a value was drawn. To find the actual conditions of first-aid education, frequency analysis, inter-group difference analysis, and multi-regression analysis were conducted. According to the data analysis, there were not enough times of job education and first-aid education for private security guards, and their satisfaction with first-aid education and first-aid ability were difference depending on the job and first-aid education counts. • Vehicle emissions from highway landuse include different pollutants such as heavy metals, oil and grease and particulates from fuels, brake pad wear and tire wear. Since highways are impervious and have high pollutant mass emissions from vehicular activity, it is considered as stormwater intensive landuses. Therefore this research was performed to understand the magnitude of first flush and to suggest the criteria of first flush for storm runoff management in highways. The fractions of washed-off mass are very high in first 30% of runoff volume, which suggests a definition of first flush. The washed-off mass stabilizes after 30% of the runoff volume and it is apparent that treatment capacity in the early part of a storm is more valuable than treatment capacity in the later part of the storm. Using the criteria of "high" first flush and "medium" first flush, as 50% of the mass in the first 30% of the volume, and 30 to 50% in the first 30% volume, respectively, more than 30% of the storms showed high first flush. A "first flush friendly" best management practice(BMP), meaning a BMP that can treat a high percentage or all of the initial flow, would be advantageous up to 80% of the events.
