Nayak(1994) suggested a combined randomized response model that combined the Warner's model and greenberg et al.'s model. In this paper we extend Nayak's model to two sample case of including unknown unrelated character also propose some combined models such W-M model and G-M model that modify the Nayak's model. We suggest the efficiency conditions of our models for Nayak's model, also find the efficiency condition of G-M model for the W-M model.
Study objectives are: 1) to investigate the difference in consumer perceptions of the model's image and physical attractiveness according to advertising model types; 2) to explore the effect of the difference between the model's image and the consumer's self image, the difference between the model's image and the brand's image, and the physical attractiveness of the model on attitude toward the advertising model; and 3) to explore the effect of attitude toward the advertising model on attitude toward the advertisement. A total of 306 female consumers over the age of 45 participated in experiments with advertisement stimuli for a senior apparel brand. Results showed a significant difference in the model's images and physical attractiveness according to each model type. The consumer's attitude toward the advertising model was determined by physical attractiveness of the model, not by the difference between model's image and the consumers' self-image, nor by the difference between the model's image and brand image. Attitude toward advertisements was determined by attitude toward the advertising model. The findings imply that advertising models of a senior apparel brand can be selected based on the physical attractiveness of the model. Consumers do not consider whether the model's image fits well with their self-images or the brand's image when building an attitude toward the advertising model, and this precedes the consumer's attitude toward the advertisement. These results can be used as guidelines to select appropriate models for advertisements of senior apparel brands.
The modern era of water quality modeling in the United States began in the 1960s. Pushed by advances in computer technology as well as environmental sciences, water quality modeling evolved through five broad periods: (1) initial model development with mainframe computers (1960s - mid 1970s), (2) model refinement and generalization with minicomputers (mid 1970s - mid 1980s), (3) model standardization and support with microcomputers (mid 1980s - mid 1990s), (4) better model access and performance with faster desktop computers running Windows and local area networks linked to the Internet (mid 1990s - early 2000s), and (5) model integration and widespread use of the Internet (early 2000s - present). Improved computer technology continues to drive improvements in water quality models, including more detailed environmental analysis (spatially and temporally), better user interfaces and GIS software, more accessibility to environmental data from on-line repositories, and more robust modeling frameworks linking hydrodynamics, water quality, watershed and atmospheric models. Driven by regulatory needs and advancing technology, water quality modeling will continue to improve to better address more complicated water bodies and pollutant types, and more complicated management questions. This manuscript describes historical trends in water quality model development in the United States, reviews current efforts, and projects promising future directions.

In this paper, we propose a fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model so as to model the nonlinear characteristics of controlling the traffic light. It use a degree of the traffic congestion of the preceding roads as an input so that it can cope with traffic congestion appropriately, which causes the loss of fuel and our discomfort. First, in order to construct fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model, we model the control process of the traffic light by using Mamdani`s fuzzy model, which has the uniform membership functions of the same size and shape. Second, we make Mamdani`s fuzzy model with the non-uniform membership functions so that it can exactly reflect the knowledge of experts and operators. Last, we construct the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model by learning from the input/output data, which is retrieved from Mamdani`s fuzzy model with the non-uniform membership functions. We compared and analyzed the fixed traffic light controller, the fuzzy traffic controller of Mamdani`s fuzzy model and the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model by using the delay time and the proportion of the entered vehicles to the occurred vehicles. As a result of comparison, the fuzzy traffic controller of Sugeno`s fuzzy model showed the best performance.
Traffic flow characteristics is analysed on eight multi-lane roads which are unsignalized in urban areas. Data of traffic flow rates by classification and average speed were gathered every ten minutes interval for twenty-four hours. Machine (NC-90A) was used to acquire the field data. The major purpose of this study is to build up speed-density models on urban arterial roads. Five different kinds of models were tested. Those models are Greenshields' model, Greenberg's model, modified Greenberg's model, Underwood's model and Drake's model. The modified Greenberg's model fits best at six points and the Greenshield's model fits best two points out of eight points. The breakpoint(Kb) of modified Greenberg's model is between 10 and 32 pcphpl. Capacity drawn from speed-volume relationships were appeared to be arround 2,000 and 2,200 pcphpl at the Hannam Bridge and the Hannam Overpass and 1,100 and 1,700 pcphpl at Namsan Tunnel(No1) and the beginning point of Gyeong-Bu Expressway.
Inactivation kinetic data of Escherichia coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Salmonella Enteritidis via treatment with aqueous chlorine dioxide treatment at a specific concentration were evaluated using the first-order kinetic and Weibull models. The Weibull model showed a better fit with the kinetic data than the first-order kinetic model. The survival curves after the aqueous chlorine dioxide treatment showed $t_R$ values(time required to reduce microbial populations by 90%) of 2.49 min for E. coli O157:H7 at 5 ppm, 1.47 min for L. monocytogenes at 5 ppm, 0.94 min for S. aureus at 5 ppm, 0.87 min for S. Typhimurium at 1 ppm, and 0.08 min for S. Enteritidis at 1 ppm, according to the Weibull model.
In this study, the earthquake response of building structures with foundation uplift was investigated. The Winkler foundation model and two-spring model are widely used to represent the interaction between foundation mat and soil. While the analysis using the Winkler foundation model results in more accurate prediction, it requires a complex procedure and longer computation time. In this study, an equivalent two-spring model(S model) is proposed. The S model can represent the Winkler foundation model more accurately and the analysis using the S model is simpler and more effective. The S model is derived by simplifying the nonlinear moment-rotation relationship of foundation mat. The dynamic responses predicted by the S model gave a good agreement to those of the Winkler foundation model.
The national ground survey database (GeoInfo) distributes numerous ground survey data nationwide. Many standard penetration test results exist in this database; however, the number of shear wave velocity (VS) data is small. Hence, to use abundant standard penetration test-N values to predict VS, this study proposed a new empirical N-VS relationship model using GeoInfo data. The proposed N-VS model is a single equation regardless of geological layer types; the layer type only specifies the upper limit of VS. To validate the proposed model, residual analysis was performed using a test dataset that was not used for the model development. Therefore, this study's proposed model performed better than N-VS models from previous studies. Since the N-VS model in this study was developed using sufficient data from GeoInfo, we expect that it is the most applicable to GeoInfo dataset for VS prediction.

EG/AD/S type model ice was originally selected as the primary model ice material for the MOERI ice tank in Korea. The existence of a sugar component in the EG/AD/S mixture may cause a serious maintenance problem. In order to understand the influence of sugar in the original model ice, a series of tests with EG/AD/S and EG/AD model ices were performed, and their material properties compared. Because the target strength of model ice in the full-scale MOERI ice tank is expensive and difficult to control, tests were performed under cold room conditions using a miniature ice tank. This paper describes the material properties of EG/AD/S and EG/AD model ices, such as flexural strength, compressive strength and elastic modulus. In order to obtain the desired strength and stiffness levels for the model ice, a warm-up process was introduced.
