융제 및 고분자 첨가 용액으로부터 분무 열분해 공정에 의해 합성한 Y2O3:Eu 형광체 (Y2O3:Eu Phosphor Particles Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis from Solution Containing Flux and Polymeric Precursor)

  • 초음파 분무 열분해 공정에 의해 나노 크기의 $Y_2O_3:Eu$ 형광체 분말들을 합성하였다. 고분자 전구체와 융제로 사용되어진 리튬 탄산염이 나노 크기의 $Y_2O_3:Eu$ 형광체의 형태 및 발광 특성에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 고분자 전구체와 융제를 동시에 사용했을 때 분무 열분해 공정에 의해 제조된 구형의 마이크론 크기의 분말들은 고온의 후열처리 과정에서 나노 크기의 분말로 전환되었다. $Y_2O_3:Eu$ 형광체의 평균 크기는 분무용액에 첨가되어지는 고분자 전구체와 융제인 리튬 탄산염의 첨가량 및 분무 열분해 공정의 반응기 온도에 많은 영향을 받았다. 고농도의 고분자 전구체를 함유한 분무용액으로부터 고온의 반응기에서 합성되고, $1,000^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 후열처리한 나노크기 $Y_2O_3:Eu$ 분말들은 진공자외선 하에서 좋은 발광 특성을 나타내었으며, 고상 공정에 의해 합성된 상용의 $Y_2O_3:Eu$ 형광체와 비슷한 발광 세기를 가졌다.

  • In this work, the dispersion behavior of $Y_2O_3$ particles in binary aluminum (Al)-copper (Cu) cast alloy was investigated with respect to Cu contents of 20 (hypoeutertic), 33 (eutectic) and 40 (hypereutectic) wt.%. In cases of hypo and hypereutectic compositions, SEM images revealed that the primary Al and ${\theta}$ phases were grown up at the beginning, respectively, and thereafter the eutectic phase was solidified. In addition, it was found that some of $Y_2O_3$ particles can be dispersed into the primary Al phase, but none of them are is observed inside the primary 6 phase. This different dispersion behavior of $Y_2O_3$ particles is probably due to the difference in the val- ues of specific gravity between $Y_2O_3$ particles and primary phases. At eutectic composition, $Y_2O_3$ particles were well dispersed in the matrix since there is few primary phases acting as an impediment site for particle dispersion during solidification. Based on the experimental results, it is concluded that $Y_2O_3$ particles are mostly dispersed into the eutectic phase in binary Al-Cu alloy system.

분무열분해 공정에 의해 합성되어진 나노 크기 Gd2O3:Eu형광체 (Nano-sized Gd2O3:Eu Phosphor Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis)

  • $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles with nano-sized and non-aggregation characteristics were prepared by spray pyrolysis using the spray solution containing polymeric precursor and $Li_2$$CO_3$ flux material. Nano-sized $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles had higher brightness than the commercial $Y_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles. The $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles had nano-size and non-aggregation characteristics after heat-treatment at $1000^{\circ}C$ when the addition amount of $Li_2$$CO_3$ flux was 1 wt.% and 3 wt.%. The mean size of particles were 200 nm and 400 nm when the amount of flux was 1 wt.% and 3 wt.%, respectively. The prepared phosphor particles had higher photoluminescence intensity than that of the commercial product regardless of the content of$ Li_2$$CO_3$ flux and had the maximum brightness when the content of flux was 5 wt %. The photoluminescence intensity of the nano-sized $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles containing 3 wt.% $Li_2$$CO_3$ flux was 125% in comparison with that of the micron-sized $Y_2$$O_3$:Eu commercial product.

Frit에서의 나노사이즈 α-Fe2O3 입자의 결정 성장 (Crystal growth of nanosized α-Fe2O3 particles in frit)

  • $100^{\circ}C$에서 0.03 M $FeCl_3$ 용액을 이용하여 수열법으로 제조한 80~90 nm의 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 나노크기 입자의 결정 성장이 유연 frit 및 무연 frit에서 조사되었다. 두 종류의 frit 내에 있는 나노사이즈 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 입자를 $800^{\circ}C$로 가열하였고 frit 내의 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 입자의 평균 입경이 각각 200~210 nm과 150~160로 증가했다. 또한 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$의 응집과 소결로 인해 결정 성장이 촉진된다는 사실도 확인되었다. 직경이 100 nm를 초과하는 큰 입자의 형성 비는 무연 frit에서 54 %, Pb가 함유된 유연 frit에서는 85 %였다. $800^{\circ}C$에서 frits 내에 있는 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 입자를 가열함으로써, 평균 직경 7~9 nm의 기공이 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 입자 내에 형성되었다. 이들 기공은 원래의 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 입자 내의 한층 더 미세한 기공들로 구성된 다공성 구조에서 유래되었고, 소결 중 이들 미세 기공들은 입자에 갇혀있는 상태에서 서로 결합하여 7~9 nm의 기공 크기로 성장하였다.

  • The ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ nano particles in the size range of $5{\sim}30$ nm were prepared by a chemical coprecipitation method. The nano particles were coated with 2nd surfactants for obtaining the water-based. The size effect of ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ nano particles for the ultraviolet protection was investigated. The variation of the UV-Vis transmittance spectra as a function of wavelength for a ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ nano particles were showed red-shifted increase with the particle size. The protective effects of UVA onset at near 469, 494, 591 nm for a particle size of 8.7, 9.1 and 12 nm. It is shown that the ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ nano particles was good materials for protect of UV.

Nano-sized $Gd_{2}O_{3}:Eu$ phosphor particles of high brightness

  • To synthesize $Gd_{2}O_{3}:Eu$ phosphor powder of nano size and high luminescence efficiency under UV (ultraviolet) and VUV (vacuum ultraviolet) light, organic additives such as citric acid and ethylene glycol and $Na_{2}CO_{3}$ flux were introduced in large-scale spray pyrolysis and critical conditions for forming nano-sized particles were investigated. The $Gd_{2}O_{3}:Eu$ phosphor particles prepared from solutions with organic additives such as citric acid and ethylene glycol had micron size and spherical shape. However, the particles prepared from polymeric precursor solution with $Na_{2}CO_{3}$ flux had nano size and non-aggregation characteristics. The as-prepared spherical particles with micron size turned into nano-sized particles during post-treatment by recrystallization process. The nano-sized $Gd_{2}O_{3}:Eu$ phosphor particles showed higher brightness than the commercial $Y_2O_3:Eu$ phosphor product under both UV light of 254nm and VUV light of 147 nm.

Synthesis and Compaction Behavior of Monodispersed 3Y-ZrO2 Spherical Agglomerates

  • Monodispersed 3Y-$ZrO_2$ spherical agglomerates were synthesized by thermal hydrolysis process followed by crystallization processes (hydrothermal treatment and calcination). The crystallization process affected the properties of the final particles, such as the primary particle size, the agglomeration state, and the fraction of $ZrO_2$ monoclinic phase. The hydrothermal treated spherical particles were porous microstructures (weak agglomerates) composed of small primary particles with a size of 14 nm, but the calcined spherical particles had a dense microstructure due to the hard aggregation between primary particles. While the calcined particles had a low green density due to the hard aggregation, hydrothermal treated ones were soft agglomerates and had a deflection point at 50 MPa due to the rearrangement of secondary spherical particles and the filling of the interstices with the primary particles. Finally, the green density of hydrothermally treated $ZrO_2$ particles was 58% at 200 MPa.

  • The fabrication of Al2O3/Al composite by pressureless infiltration was investigated by the change of Mg and Si content in Al alloy infiltration process and infiltration atmosphere. The effect of alloying elements infiltration atmosphere and interfacial reactants between Al alloy matrix and Al2O3 particles were in-vestigated in terms of bendingstrength and harness test,. The fabrication of Al2O3/Al composite by the vestigated in terms of bending strength and hardness test. The fabrication of Al2O3/Al composite by the pressureless infiltration was done in nitrogen atmosphere with Mg in Al alloy. It was successfully fabricated at $700^{\circ}C$ according to Mg contents in Al alloy and infiltration condition. Because Mg in the Al alloy and ni-trogen atmosphere of infiltratio condition produced Mg-N compound(Mg3N2) it decreased the wetting an-gle between molten Al alloy and Al2O3 particles by coating on surface of Al2O3 particles. The fracture strength of Al2O3/Al-Mg composite was 800MPa and Al2O3/Al-Si-Mg composite was 400MPa. Si in Al alloy decreased the interfacial strength between Al alloy matrix and Al2O3 particles.

Microstructure Control and Upconversion Emission Improvement of Y2O3:Ho3+/Yb3+ Particles Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis

  • Upconversion (UC) properties of Y2O3:Ho3+/Yb3+ spherical particles synthesized by spray pyrolysis were investigated by changing the dopant concentration and calcination temperature. Citric acid (CA), ethylene glycol (EG) and N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) were used to control the microstructure of Y2O3:Ho3+/Yb3+ particles. In terms of achieving the highest UC green emission intensity, the optimal concentrations of Ho3+ and Yb3+ were found to be 0.3% and 3.0%, respectively. In addition, the UC intensity of Y2O3:Ho3+/Yb3+ showed a linear relationship with the crystallite size. The use of organic additives allows Y2O3:Ho3+/Yb3+ particles to have a spherical and dense structure, resulting in significantly reducing the surface area while maintaining high crystallinity. As a result, the UC emission intensity of Y2O3:Ho3+/Yb3+ particles having a dense structure showed the UC emission intensity about 3.8 times higher than that of hollow particles prepared without organic additives. From those results, when Y2O3:Ho3+/Yb3+ particles are prepared by the spray pyrolysis process, the use of the CA/EG/DMF mixtures as organic additives has been suggested as an effective way to substantially increase the UC emission intensity.

평탄면을 갖는 $SiO_2$미립자의 제조와 이를 이용한 $SiO_2/TiO_2$복합입자의 제조 (Preparation Of Composite particles with planarized $SiO_2$ Particles)

  • 분체 특성으로 매끄러운 사용감과 피부 부착력이 우수하며 판상의 체질안료보다 유동성이 큰 실리카 미립자를 제조하기 위해 실리카 조대입자의 제조와 이의 다단계 분쇄 공정을 이용하여 여러 층의 terrace를 가지고 있는 판상 체질안료의 표면과 다른 평골한 표면 상태의 평탄면을 가지는 실리카 미립자를 제조하였다 여기에서 제조된 실리카 단일 입자를 모입자로 사용함으로써 이산화티탄의 균일침전반응법에 의해 제조된 복합입자는 평탄면을 가지게 되어 유동성의 조절과 부착력의 조절에 의해 도포 층이 균일하게 형성되는 분체 특성을 가지고 있다 본 실험에서 가장 적합한 침전 반응의 조건은 요소농도가 0.2~0.3mol/$\ell$이고 황산농도가 0.3~O.4mol/$\ell$이고 황산티타닐의 농도가 0.007~0.015mol/$\ell$며, 반응온도는 60~8$0^{\circ}C$였다 이와 같은 균일 침전 반응의 조건에 따라 초미립자상 이산화티탄의 피복량과 피복된 초미립자의 입경을 제어함으로써 분체의 광학적 특성을 조절하였고, 그 결과 피부 도포 시 피부색에서 600nm이상의 장파장 영역에서 반사율을 증가시켜 강한 피부색 tone을 표현할 수 있도록 하였다.
