Consider a strong Markov process $X^0$ that has continuous sample paths in the closed cone $\bar{G}$ in $R^d(d \geq 3)$ such that the process behaves like a ordinary Brownian motion in the interior of the cone, reflects instantaneously from the boundary of the cone and is absorbed at the vertex of the cone. It is shown that $X^0(t)$ has a representation $R(t) \ominus (t)$ where $R(t) \in [0, \infty)$ and $\ominus(t) \in S^{d-1}$, the surface of the unit ball.

In this paper, the characteristics of a defective elliptical aluminum plate are analyzed by three different eddy current testing probes; T/R, T/T, and Impedance probes. The analysis was done by 3D finite element method, and the impedance change of real and imaginary voltage values were analyzed.

The growth of total length(TL), total weight(TW) and somatic weight(SW) of rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss alevin at yolk absorption period was expressed by the Gompertz growth model as $TLt=2.7e^{-1.24{\cdot}e^{-0.11t}}(r^{2}=0.66)$, $TWt=1.8e^{-2.03{\cdot}e^{-0.11t}}(r^{2}=0.66)$ and $SWt=1.8e^{-5.41{\cdot}e^{-0.13t}}(r^{2}=0.83)$ respectively. Yolk length, yolk height and yolk volume of rainbow trout decreased linearly. The relative growth of total weight-total length, somatic weight-total length, yolk length-total length, yolk height-total length, yolk volume-total length, yolk weight-total length, yolk weight-total weight, yolk weight-yolk height and yolk weight-yolk length at yolk absorption period revealed the pattern of yolk absorption in rainbow trout.

In this short note we study the torsion theories over a commutative ring R and discuss a relative dimension related to such theories for R-modules. Let ${\sigma}$ be a torsion functor and (T, F) be its corresponding partition of Spec(R). The concept of ${\sigma}$-Cohen Macaulay (abbr. ${\sigma}$-CM) module is defined and some of the main points concerning the usual Cohen-Macaulay modules are extended. In particular it is shown that if M is a non-zero ${\sigma}$-CM module over R and S is a multiplicatively closed subset of R such that, for all minimal element of T, $S{\cap}p={\emptyset}$, then $S^{-1}M$ is a $S^{-1}{\sigma}$-CM module over $S^{-1}$R, where $S^{-1}{\sigma}$ is the direct image of ${\sigma}$ under the natural ring homomorphism $R{\longrightarrow}S^{-1}R$.

Let (R, m) be a commutative Noetherian local ring and I be an ideal of R. In this paper it is shown that if cd(I, R) = t > 0 and the R-module $Hom_R(R/I,H^t_I(R))$ is finitely generated, then $$t={\sup}\{{\dim}{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}/Q:p{\in}V(I{\hat{R}}),\;Q{\in}mAss{_{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}}{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}\;and\;p{\widehat{\hat{R}_p}}=Rad(I{\wideha{\hat{R}_p}}=Q)\}$$. Moreover, some other results concerning the cohomological dimension of ideals with respect to the rings extension $R{\subset}R[X]$ will be included.

Let T be an integral domain, M a nonzero maximal ideal of T, K = T/M, $\psi$: T \longrightarrow K the canonical map, D a proper subring of K, and R = $\psi^{-1}$(D) the pullback domain. Assume that for each $x \; \in T$, there is a $u \; \in T$ such that u is a unit in T and $ux \; \in R$, . In this paper, we show that R is a weakly Krull domain (resp., GWFD, AWFD, WFD) if and only if htM = 1, D is a field, and T is a weakly Krull domain (resp., GWFD, AWFD, WFD).

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a multifactorial, polygenic, and metabolically complicated disease. A large number of genes are responsible for the biogenesis of T2DM and calpain10 (CAPN10) is one of them. The association of numerous CAPN10 genetic polymorphisms in the development of T2DM has been widely studied in different populations and noticed inconclusive results. The present study is an attempt to evaluate the plausible association of CAPN10 polymorphism SNP-19 (rs3842570) with T2DM and T2DM-related anthropometric and metabolic traits in the Noakhali region of Bangladesh. This case-control study included 202 T2DM patients and 75 healthy individuals from different places in Noakhali. A significant association (p < 0.05) of SNP-19 with T2DM in co-dominant 2R/3R vs. 3R/3R (odds ratio [OR], 2.7; p=0.0014) and dominant (2R/3R) + (2R/2R) vs. 3R/3R (OR, 2.47; p=0.0011) genetic models was observed. High-risk allele 2R also showed a significant association with T2DM in the allelic model (OR, 1.67; p=0.0109). The genotypic frequency of SNP-19 variants showed consistency with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (p > 0.05). Additionally, SNP-19 genetic variants showed potential associations with the anthropometric and metabolic traits of T2DM patients in terms of body mass index, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, and triglycerides. Our approach identifies the 2R/3R genotype of SNP-19 as a significant risk factor for biogenesis of T2DM in the Noakhali population. Furthermore, a large-scale study could be instrumental to correlate this finding in overall Bangladeshi population.

Shear buckling stresses of steel pipes due to the lateral forces have been analyzed via parametric analysis. Detailed FEM models are prepared, and steel types, thickness, radii and length of steel pipes are selected as parameters. STK400, STK490 and SM570 are used and the thickness of pipe is 2mm and 40mm. The radii(R) and lengths(L) are determined based on the values satisfying the following relationship as R/t=20~400 and L/R=1~3. The shear buckling stresses decrease for all types of considered steels as R/t increase from 20 to 200. High strength steels are more sensitive to R/t, and also have an bigger effect on shear buckling stresses than low strength steels. It is found that shear buckling stresses decrease as L/R increases, showing that the steel pipes become weak as the length of the steel pipe increases.

In order to investigate the effects of GA3 on RNA biosynthesis, the amounts of rRNA and tRNA in germinating maize seeds were measured. The amount of rRNA in the endospermless seedlings was remarkably increased by GA3 tretment after 48 h of germination, but no effect was observed after 12 h of germination. While the amout of rRNA in 0.5 cm shoots in length was decreased by GA3 treatment, both of the amounts of rRNA and tRNA were increased in 1~1.5 cm shoots. According to the above mentioned results, it may be suggested that RNA biosynthesis is affected by GA3 treatment, and that GA3 participates in the biosynthesis of rRNA rather than tRNA in germinating maize seeds.
