  • We introduce the concepts of fuzzy $s$-open functions, and $s$-closed functions. And we investigate several properties of such functions. In particular, we study the relation between fuzzy $s$-continuous maps and fuzzy $s$-open maps( $s$-closed maps).

  • The present research studied the relationship between children's social competence and popularity and examined popularity variables for the prediction of children's social competence. The subjects of this study were 80 children, 40 boys and 40 girls at age 5. Children's social competence was measured by the children's teachers with the use of the Social Competence Scale (Kohn & Rossman, 1972). Children's popularity and unpopularity were obtained from the subjects with the use of Moore's (1973) Sociometric Status Test. Teacher's estimate of the popularity of children was obtained with the use of Connolly & Doyle's (1981) Teacher Rankings of Popularity. The analysis of the data was by Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, and Stepwise Multiple Regression. There were significant relationships between children's social competence and popularity (children's popularity, children's unpopularity, teacher's popularity). Teacher's estimate of child's popularity was the best variable with which to predict children's social competence, the second best variable was children's popularity as measured by Moore's Sociometric Test.

  • This study examined the effects of mother's parenting and children's reflection on the development of self-control in the resistance to temptation situation. Subjects were 85 3-, 4- and 5- year old children attending educational preschool and their mothers. Each subject's activities were videotaped for 10 minutes in the experimental settings. Children's reflection was evaluated by Kagan's Matching Familiar Figures Test(MFF). Mothers completed a parenting questionnaire. Results showed no age or sex difference in resistance to temptation. Task patience increased with age, and girls had more task patience than boys. Children's resistance to temptation and task patience correlated with children's reflection and mother's parenting. Children's MFF latency and mother's permissiveness-nonintervention predicted children's resistance to temptation. Children's MFF errors, sex, age and mother's warmth-acceptance predicted children's task patience.

  • The present study investigated causal relationship between child's temperament, mother's parental satisfaction, mother's marital satisfaction and mother's child-rearing behavior according to child's sex. The subjects for this study were 473 children and their's mothers of first-second grade selected from elementary schools in Busan. Han's questionnaires(1996) on child's temperament, Hyun's questionnaires(1994) on parental satisfaction, Choi's questionnaires(1994) on marital satisfaction and Hong's questionnaires(1996) on mother's child-rearing behavior were used. Data were analyzed with Manova, Pearson's correlation, Lisrel 8.5. The results were as follows : (1) According to sex, there were significant differences in mother's marital satisfaction and child-rearing behavior. The mothers of girls showed higher marital satisfaction. And boys perceived higher limit-setting and higher responsiveness. (2) For boys, mother's parental satisfaction and marital satisfaction revealed direct effect on mother's child rearing behavior. For girls, tempeament and parental satisfaction revealed direct effect on mother's child rearing behavior.

  • (PbS)$_{1-x}$ -(CuS)$_{x}$ thin films(x=0, 0.5, 1) were grown on glass substrates by using a chemical bath deposition method. The molecular ratio of Pb to Cu for the PbS-CuS thin films(x=0.5) was measured about 7:3 by using EDX and XRF. The resistivity of non-annealed (PbS)$_{1-x}$ -(CuS)$_{x}$ thin films was about 10 $\Omega$ . cm. However, after annealing, the resistivity of PbS showed a little change, while PbS-CuS and CuS significantly decreased in the range of 0.002 to 0.005$\Omega$.cm. PbS was p-type and CuS was n-type.-type.

  • This paper investigates algebraic semantics for sKD and its extensions $sKD_\triangle$, $sKD\forall$, and $sKD\forall{_\triangle}$: sKD is a variant of the infinite -valued Kleene- Diense logic KD; $sKD_\triangle$ is the sKD with the Baaz's projection A; and $sKD\forall$ and $sKD\forall{_\triangle}$: are the first order extensions of sKD and $sKD_\triangle$, respectively. I first provide algebraic completeness for each of sKD and $sKD_\triangle$. Next I show that each $sKD\forall$ and $sKD\forall{_\triangle}$: is algebraically complete.

  • We give the necessary condition for an operator defined on a cartesian product of $c_0(\mathcal{X})$ spaces to be summing or dominated and we show that for the multiplication operators this condition is also sufficient. By using these results, we show that ${\Pi}_s(c_0,{\ldots},c_0;c_0)$ contains a copy of $l_s(l^m_2{\mid}m{\in}\mathbb{N})$ for s > 2 or a copy of $1_s(l^m_1{\mid}{\in}\mathbb{N})$, for any $l{\leq}S$ < ${\infty}$. Also ${\Delta}_{s_1,{\ldots},s_n}(c_0,{\ldots},c_0;c_0)$ contains a copy of $l_{{\upsilon}_n(s_1,{\ldots},s_n)}$ if ${\upsilon}_n(s_1,{\ldots},s_n){\leq}2$ or a copy of $l_{{\upsilon}_n(s_1,{\ldots},s_n)}(l^m_2{\mid}m{\in}\mathbb{N})$ if 2 < ${\upsilon}_n(s_1,{\ldots},s_n)$, where ${\frac{1}{{\upsilon}_n(s_1,{\ldots},s_n})}={\frac{1}{s_1}}+{\cdots}+{\frac{1}{s_n}}$. We find also the necessary and sufficient conditions for bilinear operators induced by some method of summability to be 1-summing or 2-dominated.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships and predictor variable between father's child-rearing behaviors and children's sex-role taking, emotional responses and children's prosocial behavior by demographic variables and mother's work status. Subjects were 142 kindergarten children and their mothers in Busan. Three type of measurement were used in this study; (1) Two scales for father's child-rearing behaviors and children's emotional responses, (2) an interview for children's sex-role taking, and (3) amount of candies to share with classmates for children's prosocial behavior. Data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficient, t-test, F-test, multiple regression, Scheffe's post hoc test using the SAS computer program. There were significant correlations between father's child-rearing behaviors and children's sex-role taking, and between father's child-rearing behaviors and children's prosocial behavior. There were significant differences in father's child-rearing behaviors, children's emotional respones, and children prosocial behavior by SES and mother's job. Father's child-rearing behaviors were the most important predictor variables influencing children's sex-role taking and children's prosocial behavior.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between father's beliefs on child rearing and children's self-perceptions. The subject of this study were comprised of 167 third-grade children (ages 8-10) and their father. To summarize major findings from the analyses : First, a significant difference was found in the degree of father's beliefs about child rearing by number of child , father's education, father's job, level of life, relationship between father and child in independence and by number of child, level of life, relationship between father and child in accommodation. Second, children's self-perception was related to father's education, father's income, father's job, relationship between father and child, child's gender, father's marital satisfaction, father's job. Third, according to the multiple regression analyses for the relationships between father's beliefs about child rearing and children's self perceptions, there was a positive relationship between father's belief's on the creativity, problem-solving skill, accommodation. Father's SES status, relationship between father and child was a positive relationship children's self-perceptions. Father's beliefs on the creativity was a positive relationship children's self-perceptions but father's belief's on the accommodation was a negative relationship children's scholastic performance, behavioral conduct.
