부추속(부추과)의 두 신분류군: 돌부추, 둥근산부추 (Two new taxa of Allium (Alliaceae) from Korea: A. koreanum H.J. Choi et B.D. Oh and A. thunbergii var. teretifolium H.J. Choi et B.D. Oh)

  • 한국의 남부지방에서 발견된 부추속(부추과)의 새로운 두 분류군을 기재 및 도해하였다. 신종으로 처리된 돌부추(A. koreanum H.J. Choi et B.U. Oh)는 크기가 보다 크며, 별모양으로 완전히 벌어진 옅은 분홍색의 화피, 현저하게 돌출된 화사, 그리고 원추형의 주두 및 염색체 수 등의 특징으로 동북아시아에 널리 분포하는 돌부추절(sect. Reticulato-bulbosa)의 가는산부추(A. splendens)와 명확히 구분되었다. 또한 신변종으로 처리된 둥근산부추(A. thunbergii var. teretifolium H.J. Choi et B.U. Oh)는 원통형의 속이 비어있는 엽신 등의 특징으로 근연인 산부추(var. thunbergii) 및 세모산부추(var. deltoides)와 쉽게 구별되었다. 한국산 돌부추절의 두 종과 산부추(산부추절)의 세 변종에 대한 검색표를 제시하였다.

Effect of dentin treatment on proliferation and differentiation of human dental pulp stem cells

  • Objectives: Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is an excellent bactericidal agent, but it is detrimental to stem cell survival, whereas intracanal medicaments such as calcium hydroxide ($Ca[OH]_2$) promote the survival and proliferation of stem cells. This study evaluated the effect of sequential NaOCl and $Ca(OH)_2$ application on the attachment and differentiation of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs). Materials and Methods: DPSCs were obtained from human third molars. All dentin specimens were treated with 5.25% NaOCl for 30 min. DPSCs were seeded on the dentin specimens and processed with additional 1 mg/mL $Ca(OH)_2$, 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) treatment, file instrumentation, or a combination of these methods. After 7 day of culture, we examined DPSC morphology using scanning electron microscopy and determined the cell survival rate with 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay. We measured cell adhesion gene expression levels after 4 day of culture and odontogenic differentiation gene expression levels after 4 wk using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Results: DPSCs did not attach to the dentin in the NaOCl-treated group. The gene expression levels of fibronectin-1 and secreted phosphoprotein-1 gene in both the $Ca(OH)_2$- and the EDTA-treated groups were significantly higher than those in the other groups. All $Ca(OH)_2$-treated groups showed higher expression levels of dentin matrix protein-1 than that of the control. The dentin sialophosphoprotein level was significantly higher in the groups treated with both $Ca(OH)_2$ and EDTA. Conclusions: The application of $Ca(OH)_2$ and additional treatment such as EDTA or instrumentation promoted the attachment and differentiation of DPSCs after NaOCl treatment.

  • 본 연구는 화학열펌프 개발을 목적으로 비교적 고온영역에서 화학축열에 응용 가능 할 것으로 판단되는 무기수화물계 $Ca(OH)_2/CaO$ 가역 반응싸이클을 이용한 수화 탈수반응에 따른 충진층내 열이동에 대하여 실험적 검토를 행하였다. 그 결과 본 실험에서 얻은 열교환특성은 $Ca(OH)_2$ 열분해 탈수반응시 반응기 내의 시료층 상단부가 하단부에 비해 탈수반응이 느리게 진행되었으며 이러한 현상은 탈수반응이 하부에서 상부로 진행됨을 알 수 있었다. 또, 반응기내 반경방향에서의 $Ca(OH)_2$ 열분해 탈수반응에 따른 온도변화는 시료 중심부에서 상 하단부로 나타났으며 이는 열전도도에 의한 온도 강하로 중심부의 축열온도가 높음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 비이온계면활성제 가운데 솔비톨계 계면활성제인 Span을 이용해 수열합성법으로 수산화마그네슘을 합성하였다. 수산화마그네슘 합성의 전구체는 염화마그네슘과 수산화나트륨을 사용하였다. 비이온 계면활성제는 안정제와 분산제 그리고 표면 개질제로 적용하였다. 비이온 계면활성제를 첨가하였을 경우 수산화마그네슘 입자는 좀 더 작고 균일한 크기와 좋은 분산성을 나타내었으며, 소수성 성질을 나타내었다. 합성된 입자의 특성은 PSA, SEM, EDS, XRD 그리고 FT-IR을 통해 확인하였다. 기기 분석을 통해 개질 전과 후의 수산화마그네슘의 소수성, 분산성 특성을 비교하였다. 또한 실험조건에 따라 수산화마그네슘 입자의 표면 개질 특성 변화를 확인하였다.

천연해수 중 음극방식 응용 원리에 의해 제작한 Mg(OH)2 코팅막의 밀착성 및 내식성 (Adhesion and Corrosion Resistance of Mg(OH)2 Films Prepared by Application Principle of Cathodic Protection in Natural Seawater)

  • Cathodic current on a metal tends to increase the $OH^-$ neighboring to the metal surface, especially during electro-deposition in seawater. The increased pH at metal/seawater interface results in precipitation of brucite crystal structure-$Mg(OH)_2$ as following formula; $Mg^{2+}+2OH^-{\rightarrow}Mg(OH)_2$, that is typical mechanism of the main calcareous deposits-compound in electro deposited coating films. In this study, the effects of anode and current density on deposition rate, composition structure and morphology of the deposited films were systematically investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and x-ray diffraction(XRD), respectively in order to overcome the problems such as deposition rate and a weak adhesion between deposit film and metal surface. The adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating films were also evaluated by anodic polarization test. The electro-deposited film formed by using AZ31-Mg anode had the most appropriate physical properties. Weight gain of electro-deposit films increased with increasing cathodic current. Electro-deposit prepared at $5A/cm^2$ current density shows better adhesion than that formed at $8{\sim}10A/cm^2$.

소나무(Pinus densiflora) 목질을 이용한 수용액 중의 Cu(II) 흡착 (Adsorption of Cu(II) from Aqueous Solutions Using Pine (Pinus densiflora) Wood)

  • Milled Korean pine (Pinus densiflora) wood was used to evaluate its adsorption capacity of Cu(II) ions from aqueous solution by running a series of batch experiments. Prior to the tests, the milled woods were pretreated with 1N NaOH, 1N $HNO_3$, and distilled water, respectively, to examine the effect of pretreatment. Within the tested pH range between 3 and 6, copper adsorption efficiency of NaOH-treated wood(96~99%) was superior to the $HNO_3$-treated wood(19~31%) and distilled water-treated wood(18~35%). The efficiency of copper removal by wood enhanced with increasing solution pH and reached a maximum copper ion uptake at pH 5~6. Adsorption behavior of copper onto both raw and $HNO_3$-treated woods was mainly attributed to interaction with carboxylic acid group. For NaOH-treated wood, carboxylate ion produced by hydrolysis or saponification was a major functional group responsible for Cu sorption. NaOH treatment of wood changed the ester and carboxylic acid groups into carboxylate group, whereas $HNO_3$ treatment did not affect the production of functional groups which could bind copper. A pseudo second-order kinetic model fitted well for the sorption of copper ion onto NaOH-treated wood. A batch isotherm test using NaOH-treated wood showed that equilibrium sorption data were better represented by the Langmuir model than the Freundlich model.

  • 실리카 및 제올라이트의 OH기 또는 교환된 양이온과 CO분자간의 상호작용과 전자구조를 살펴보기 위하여 CNDO/2계산을 행하였다. 실리카의 OH기와 CO분자간의 상호작용에너지는 약 12kcal/mol이었고, 그 결합거리, R(O-H${\cdots}$C)는 2.6${\AA}$이었다. 여러가지의 양이온과 CO분자와의 결합강도는 $H^+ < Na^+ < Li^+$의 순이었는데, 그것은 양이온의 정전기적 장의 세기와 일치하였다. 또한 OH기나 양이온과 결합하고 있는 CO분자의 결합차수는 OH-CO type의 경우를 제외하고는 모두 증가하였다. 제올라이트에 있는 양이온을 떼어내는데 필요한 에너지는 $H^+ > Li^+ > Na^+$의 순이었으며, 이것은 제올라이트의 골격으로부터 양이온으로 이동되는 전하의 양과 관계가 있다.

Synthesis of Barium Ferrite Powder by the Coprecipitation Method using Iron Pickling Waste Acid

  • Barium ferrite powders were synthesized by the coprecipitation method using iron-pickling waste acid (IPWA) and BaCl$_2$$.$2H$_2$O as raw materials. Fe$\^$2+/ ions in the IPWA, which contains both Fe$\^$2+/ and Fe$\^$3+/ ions, were oxidized into Fe$\^$3+/ ions using H$_2$O$_2$. Proper amount of BaCl$_2$$.$2H$_2$O was dissolved into the oxidized IPWA. Using NaOH, Ba$\^$2+/ and Fe$\^$3+/ ions were coprecipitated as Ba(OH)$_2$and Fe(OH)$_3$. The coprecipitated Ba(OH)$_2$and Fe(OH)$_3$were washed and dried. Barium ferrite powders were obtained by calcining the dried Ba(OH)$_2$and Fe(OH)$_3$mixture from 400$\^{C}$ to 1000$\^{C}$ with a 100$\^{C}$ interval. Barium ferrite powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, SEM, and VSM. It was found that barium ferrite powders could be synthesized at around 630$\^{C}$. The synthesized barium ferrite powders showed hexagonal plate shapes with a fairly uniform size. The barium ferrite powder calcined at 900$\^{C}$ showed good magnetic properties, saturation magnetization of 67emu/g and maximum coercivity of 5000 Oe.

백금전극에서 크롬산염이온의 음극환원반응에 관한 연구 (A Study of Cathodic Reduction of Chromate Ion on Platinum)

  • 백금전극을 사용해서 $CrO_4^=$이온의 환원을 중성인 비완충용액과 pH 8∼10 범위의 완충용액 및 강한 알카리성용액에서 조사하였다. pH 8∼10 범위의 완충용액에서 $CrO_4^=$이온의 환원에 관여한 전하이전의 수는 pH가 증가하므로써 점점 증가되었다. $CrO_4^=$이온dl 0.2N NaOH 용액에서 환원되어 질때 반응기구가 다음과 같이 가정되었다. $CrO_4^=+H_2O+2e{\rightarrow}CrO_3^=+2OH^-,\;CrO_3^=3H_2O+e{\rightarrow}Cr(OH)_3+3OH^-$ pH 13.5이고 지지전해질인 $(CH_3)_4NOH$ 용액에서 $CrO_4^=$ 이온이 환원되어 질때 두째번 파에서 심한 흡착을 보여주었다. 0.1N KCl의 비완충용액에서 linear sweep voltammogram은 initial voltage와 voltage sweep rate에 따라 세개 혹은 네개의 분명한 파로 나타나지만 첫째번 파는 확산에 의해서만 된 파라고 설명하기에는 어려움이 있었다.

인산 및 규산 이온이 포함된 수용액에서 AZ31 마그네슘 합금의 플라즈마 전해산화 피막의 구조에 미치는 수산화나트륨 농도의 영향 (Effects of NaOH Concentration on the Structure of PEO Films Formed on AZ31 Mg Alloy in PO43- and SiO32- Containing Aqueous Solution)

  • The structure of plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coatings was investigated as a function of NaOH concentration in 0.06 M $Na_2SiO_3$ + 0.06 M $Na_3PO_4$ solution by using SEM and epoxy replica method. The PEO film was formed on AZ31 Mg alloy by the application of anodic pulse current with 0.2 ms width and its formation behavior was studied by voltage-time curves during the formation of PEO films. It was found that the addition of NaOH into $PO_4{^{3-}}$ and $SiO_3{^{2-}}$ containing aqueous solution causes a decrease in the PEO film formation voltage, suggesting that dielectric breakdown of the PEO becomes easier with increasing $OH^-$ ion concentration in the solution. With increasing $OH^-$ ion concentration, thickness of the PEO film increased and surface roughness decreased. The size of pores formed in the PEO layer became smaller and the number of cracks in the PEO layer increased with increasing $OH^-$ ion concentration. Based on the experimental results obtained in the work, it is suggested that $OH^-$ ions in the solution can contribute not only to the dielectric breakdown but also to the formation of PEO films in the presence of $PO_4{^{3-}}$ and $SiO_3{^{2-}}$ ions in the solution.
