LPG 증기보일러의 배기 배출물에 미치는 요소-SCR 후처리 시스템의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effect of Urea-SCR Aftertreatment System upon Exhaust Emissions in a LPG Steam Boiler)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of SCR reactor on the exhaust emissions characteristics in order to develop a urea-SCR aftertreatment system for reducing $NO_x$ emissions. The experiments are conducted by using a flue tube LPG steam boiler with the urea-SCR aftertreatment system. The urea-SCR aftertreatment system utilizes the ammonia converted from 17% aqueous urea solution injected in front of SCR catalyst as a reducing agent for reducing $NO_x$ emissions. The equivalence ratio, urea injection amount, ammonia slip and $NO_x$ conversion efficiency relative to boiler load are applied to discuss the experimental results. In this experiment, the average equivalence ratio is calculated by changing only the fuel consumption rate while the intake air amount is constantly fixed at $25,957.11cm^3/sec$. The average equivalence ratios are 1.38, 1.11, 0.81 and 0.57 when boiler loads are 100, 80, 60 and 40%. The $NO_x$ conversion efficiency is raised with increasing urea injection amount, and $NH_3$ slip is also boosted at the same time. Consequently, the $NO_x$ conversion efficiency relative to boiler load should be examined in combination with urea injection amount and $NH_3$ slip. The results are calculated by 89, 85, 77 and 79% for the boiler loads of 100, 80, 60 and 40%. The appropriate amount of urea injection for the respective boiler load can be not discussed by only $NO_x$ emissions, and should be determined by considering the $NO_x$ conversion efficiency, $NH_3$ slip and reactive activation temperature simultaneously. In this study, the urea amounts of 230, 235, 233 and 231 mg/min are injected at the boiler loads of 100, 80, 60 and 40%, and the final $NH_3$ slips are measured by 8.48, 5.58, 11.97 and 11.34 ppm at the same conditions. THC emission is affected by the SCR reactor under other experimental conditions except 100% engine load, and CO emission at only 40% engine load. The rest of exhaust emissions are not affected by the SCR reactor under all experimental conditions.

Effects of Sr Contents on Structural Change and Electrical Conductivity in Cu-doped LSM ($La_{1-x}Sr_xMn_{0.8}Cu_{0.2}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$)

  • Strontium doped lanthanum manganite (LSM) with perovskite structure for SOFC cathode material shows high electrical conductivity and good chemical stability, whereas the electrical conductivity at intermediate temperature below $800^{\circ}C$ is not sufficient due to low oxygen ion conductivity. The approach to improve electrical conductivity is to make more oxygen vacancies by substituting alkaline earths (such as Ca, Sr and Ba) for La and/or a transition metal (such as Fe, Co and Cu) for Mn. Among various cathode materials, $LaSrMnCuO_3$ has recently been suggested as the potential cathode materials for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). As for the Cu doping at the B-site, it has been reported that the valence change of Mn ions is occurred by substituting Cu ions and it leads to formation of oxygen vacancies. The electrical conductivity is also affected by doping element at the A-site and the co-doping effect between A-site and B-site should be described. In this study, the $La_{1-x}Sr_xMn_{0.8}Cu_{0.2}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$ ($0{\leq}x{\leq}0.4$) systems were synthesized by a combined EDTA-citrate complexing process. The crystal structure, morphology, thermal expansion and electrical conductivity with different Sr contents were studied and their co-doping effects were also investigated.

Exhaust emissions of a diesel engine using ethanol-in-palm oil/diesel microemulsion-based biofuels

  • The use of palm oil and diesel blended with ethanol, known as a microemulsion biofuel, is gaining attention as an attractive renewable fuel for engines that may serve as a replacement for fossil-based fuels. The microemulsion biofuels can be formulated from the mixture of palm oil and diesel as the oil phase; ethanol as the polar phase; methyl oleate as the surfactant; alkanols as the cosurfactants. This study investigates the influence of the three cosurfactants on fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions in a direct-injection (DI) diesel engine. The microemulsion biofuels along with neat diesel fuel, palm oil-diesel blends, and biodiesel-diesel blends were tested in a DI diesel engine at two engine loads without engine modification. The formulated microemulsion biofuels increased fuel consumption and gradually reduced the nitrogen oxides ($NO_x$) emissions and exhaust gas temperature; however, there was no significant difference in their carbon monoxide (CO) emissions when compared to those of diesel. Varying the carbon chain length of the cosurfactant demonstrated that the octanol-microemulsion fuel emitted lower CO and $NO_x$ emissions than the butanol- and decanol-microemulsion fuels. Thus, the microemulsion biofuels demonstrated competitive advantages as potential fuels for diesel engines because they reduced exhaust emissions.

  • 선박에서 발생하는 질소산화물($NO_x$)을 측정하고 분석하는 방법은 $NO_x$ Technical Code 2008에 기재되어 있다. 코드를 만족하는 분석 방법으로는 화학 발광 분석법과 가열 화학 발광 분석법이 있다. 그러나 환원제로 $NH_3$가 사용되는 선택적 촉매 환원 분석 방법은 환원제로 인한 간섭 현상이 발생하여 측정 오차를 일으킨다. 본 연구에서는 화학 발광 분석방식의 여러 가지 가스와의 간섭 영향을 분석하고 어떤 특성을 가지는지 확인하였다. 그리고 푸리에 변환 적외석 분광 분석 장비 및 측정 방법을 통하여 비교하였다. 또한 측정 장비의 물리적 간섭 영향을 확인하기 위하여 측정 장비를 분해하여 확인하였다. 그 결과로써, 화학발광검출기기 내부에 발생한 백색 침전물과 수분이 간섭에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 간섭의 영향을 최소화할 수 있는 $NO_x$ 측정 방법을 검토할 필요가 있다.

금속이온이 담지 된 제올라이트를 이용한 도시가스 내 부취제 제거 (Desulfurization of Sulfur Compounds in City-gas using Metal Salt Impregnated Zeolite)

  • 도시가스를 원료로 수소를 제조하여 연료전지에 활용할 경우에 도시가스에 포함된 황화합물이 개질기의 촉매와 연료전지의 전극에 독으로 작용하므로 금속이온이 담지 된 $\beta$-제올라이트(BEA)로 황화합물 흡착 제거를 수행하였다. 담지 된 금속염의 농도, 종류에 따라 파과흡착량이 달라졌으며, $AgNO_3$이 담지 된 흡착제가 실험에 사용된 흡착제 중 가장 높은 파과흡착량을 나타내었다(41.1 mg/g). 그러나 $Ni(NO_3)_2$, $Fe(NO_3)_3$, $Co(NO_3)_2$와 같은 금속염이 담지 된 BEA도 $AgNO_3/BEA$와 비교할 수준의 황화합물 흡착량을 나타냈다. $AgNO_3/BEA$ 흡착제 특성 분석과 온도 영향성 실험 및 X선 광전자 분광기(x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, XPS) 분석을 통하여 흡착제와 황화합물 사이에 작용하는 힘은 금속이온과 황화합물간의 화학적 상호작용보다 물리적 상호작용이 우세한 것으로 나타났다.

드라이버 스윙 시 X-Factor, X-Factor Stretch와 스윙 관련 변인의 상관관계 분석 (Correlation Analysis of The X-Factor, X-Factor Stretch and Swing-Related Factors during Drive Swing)

  • Purpose : Recently, many researchers and golf coachers demonstrated that X-factor and X-factor stretch had a co-relationship with driving distance. However, its relationship is still controversial and ambiguous. Thus, the aim of this study was to examine the relationship among X-factor, X-factor stretch and swing-related factors, including driving distance in elite golfers. Method : Seventeen male elite golfers (handicap: ${\leq}4$) with no history of musculo-skeletal injuries participated in the study. Thirty spherical retro-reflective markers were placed on including the middle point of PSIS, the right/left ASIS, the right/left lateral acromion of the scapula, driver head and shaft grip. All motion capture data was collected at 100Hz using 6 infrared cameras. Carry distance, club speed, ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, and spin rate were collected from radar-based device, TrackMan. Results : Pearson's correlation coefficient method was used to find the correlations among X-factor, X-factor stretch and swing-related factors. Positive correlations between driving distance and other swing-related factors which include club speed(r=.798, p<.001), and ball speed(r=.948, p<.001) were observed. In contrast to the swing-related factors, X-factor and X-factor stretch had no relationship to driving distance. Conclusion : These results indicate that X-factor and X-factor stretch are not key regulators in driving distance.

Li2CO3 첨가에 따른 입방정 Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7(c-BZN)의 상 변화 및 그에 따른 유전특성 변화 연구 (A Study on the Phase Change of Cubic Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7(c-BZN) and the Corresponding Change in Dielectric Properties According to the Addition of Li2CO3)

  • (1-4x)Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7-3xBi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7-2xLiZnNbO4(x=0.03-0.21) 조성의 새로운 저온 동시 소성 세라믹(LTCC) 유전체는 Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7-xLi2CO3(x=0.03-0.21) 혼합물을 850℃~920℃에서 4 시간 반응성 액상소결(reactive liquid phase sintering)을 하여 제조하였다. 소결이 진행되는 동안 Li2CO3는 Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7과 반응하여 Bi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7과 LiZnNbO4를 생성하였고 얻어진 소결체의 상대 소결밀도는 이론 밀도의 96% 이상이었다. 초기 Li2CO3 함량(x)을 조절하여 최종 소결체내에 존재하는 Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7, Bi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7 및 LiZnNbO4 상의 상대적인 함량을 제어함으로써 높은 유전율(εr), 낮은 유전손실(tan δ) 및 NP0 특성(TCε ≤ ±30 ppm/℃)의 유전율 온도계수(TCε)를 갖는 유전체를 개발할 수 있었다. Li2CO3의 첨가가 x=0.03 mol에서 x=0.15 mol로 증가함에 따라 얻어진 복합체 내의 Bi2Zn2/3Nb4/3O7와 LiZnNbO4의 부피 분율은 증가하였고, Bi1.5Zn1.0Nb1.5O7의 부피 분율은 감소하였다. 그 결과 복합체의 유전율(εr)은 148.38에서 126.99로 유전손실(tan δ)은 5.29×10-4에서 3.31×10-4로 그리고 유전율 온도계수(TCε)는 -340.35 ppm/℃에서 299.67 ppm/℃로 변화되었다. NP0 특성을 갖는 유전체는 Li2CO3의 함량이 x=0.09일 때 얻을 수 있었고, 이 때의 유전율(εr)은 143.06, 유전손실(tan δ)값은 4.31×10-4, 그리고 유전율 온도계수(TCε)값은 -9.98 ppm/℃ 이었다. Ag전극과의 화학적 호환성 실험은 개발된 복합 재료는 Ag 전극과 동시 소성 과정에서 전극과 반응이 없음을 보여주었다.

NO 환원반응을 위한 $V_2O_5/TiO_2$계 촉매필터의 $MnO_2$ 조촉매 효과 (The Effect of $MnO_2$ Addition on the $V_2O_5/TiO_2$ Catalytic Filters for NO Reduction)

  • Nitrogen oxides (NO, $NO_2$ and $N_2O$) have been controlled effectively by the SCR catalysts coated on monolith or honeycomb in commercial sites with ammonia as reductant at high temperature range $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$. However, the catalytic filter has much merit on the point of controlling the particles and nitrogen oxides simultaneously. It will be more advanced-system if the catalytic working temperature is reduced to the normal filtration temperature of under $200^{\circ}C$. This study has focus on the development of the catalytic filter working at the low temperature. So the additive effect of the components such as Pt and Mn (which are known the catalytic component of $V_2O_5/TiO_2$ was investigated. The $V_2O_5-WO_3$ catalytic filter exhibited high activity and selectivity at $250{\sim}320^{\circ}C$ showing more than 95% NO conversion for the treatment of 600 ppm NO at face velocity 2 cm/s. The Pt-$V_2O_5-WO_3$ catalytic filter shifted the optimum working temperature towards the lower temperature ($170{\sim}200^{\circ}C$). And NO conversion was 100% and higher than that of $V_2O_5-WO_3$ catalyst at $250{\sim}320^{\circ}C$. The $MnO_X-V_2O_5-WO_3$ catalytic filter showed the wide temperature range of $220{\sim}330^{\circ}C$ for more than 95% NO conversion. This is a remarkable advantage when considered the $MnO_X$ catalytic filter presents the maximum activity at $150{\sim}250^{\circ}C$ and $V_2O_5-WO_3$ catalytic filter shows the maximum activity at $250{\sim}320^{\circ}C$.

유해가스 차단시스템용 MEMS 가스 센서 (MEMS based on nanoparticle gas sensor for air quality system)

  • 본 연구에서는 졸겔법으로 ZnO, 수열합성법으로 $SnO_2$ 나노분말을 제조하고 이들 나노분말에 Pd, Ru 등의 촉매를 첨가하였다. MEMS 기술로 제작된 히터 및 전극 구조 위에 나노 감지 분말을 도포하여 CO and $NO_2$ 가스 센서를 제작하였다. 0.1 wt% Pd 도핑된 $SnO_2$ 가스센서와 Ru 도핑된 ZnO 가스 센서는 각각 CO 30 ppm, $NO_2$ 1 ppm의 낮은 농도에서도 높은 감지 특성을 보였다.

구조용 압연강재와 스테인리스강재의 CO2 용접에 대한 기계적 특성연구 (A study on the mechanical properties of structure rolled steel and stainless steel for the CO2 welding)

  • 산업시설에는 용접된 구조물에 반복 하중이 발생하여 피로파괴가 발생하고 있는데 이 피로파괴를 줄이기 위해 일반구조용압연강재(SS400)와 스테인리스강(STS304)을 $CO_2$ 용접하여 기계적 특성 분석을 하였다. X-ray 촬영을 하여 결함검사를 하고 용접부에 결함이 없는 시험편으로 경도, 인장, 피로 시험을 하였다. 경도는 SS400과 STS304가 용접된 시험편이 SS304만 용접된 시험편보다 높게 나타났다. 그리고 인장강도와 항복강도는 반대로 SS304만 용접된 시험편이 높았으며 피로한도 또한 마찬가지였다. 따라서 $CO_2$ 용접을 할 경우 융점이 낮고 용접성이 좋은 SS400만으로 용접할 때 더 좋은 성능을 보여준다.
