Magnetic Property of BixCa1-xMnO3: Experimental and First Principles Calculation Study

  • The magnetic properties of ${Bi_x}{Ca_{1-x}}{MnO_3}$ for x = 0.12, 0.13, 0.14, 0.15, and 0.16 were examined by measuring magnetic susceptibility, resistivity and electron magnetic resonance at different temperatures. ${Bi_x}{Ca_{1-x}}{MnO_3}$ showed complicated magnetic structure that varies with temperature and composition, particularly around Bi composition x. 0.15. The aim of this study was to determine how the magnetic and physical properties of ${Bi_x}{Ca_{1-x}}{MnO_3}$ change in this region. In addition, first principles calculations of the magnetic phase of ${Bi_x}{Ca_{1-x}}{MnO_3}$ for x = 0, 0.125, 0.25 were carried out, and the spin state, electric and magnetic characteristics are discussed.

  • The possiblity of mullitization from the domestic alunite by adding of $Fe_2O_3-MnO_2$, $Fe_2O_3-MnO_2-TiO_2$, $Fe_2O_3-MnO_2-CaF_2$, and $Fe_2O_3-MnO_2-CaF_2-TiO_2$ mixtures as mineralizers was studied at the temperature range between $1, 250^{\circ}C$~$1, 430^{\circ}C$. The modifying method of domestic alunite was performed by calcination, wet ballmilling, and washing with water. The following results were obtained; 1) When added of 3.0% $Fe_2O_3$ plus 1.0-1.5% $MnO_2$ to modified alunite, the appropriate temperature range of mullite-forming was $1, 350^{\circ}C$-$1, 400^{\circ}C$. 2) When added of $TiO_2$ as mineralizer, the mullite-forming temperature was higher than not added. 3) When added of $CaF_2$ as mineralizer, the synthesized mullite was resolve at the temperature above $1, 350^{\circ}C$.

Synthesis of Li2Mn3O7 and Application to Hybrid Capacitor

  • In order to apply hybrid capacitor, $Li_2Mn_3O_7$ was synthesized by combustion method using $LiNO_3$, $Li(CH_3COO){\cdot}2H_2O$ and $Mn(CH_3COO){\cdot}4H_2O$. Spinel pattern was identified the samples calcined over $400^{\circ}C$ in XRD. Intensity of $Mn_2O_3$ peak increased as the calcination temperature increased. To decide n/p ratio and to investigate electrochemical properties, charge-discharge tests of Li/$Li_2Mn_3O_7$ and Li/AC half-cell were carried out. Applying to AC/$Li_2Mn_3O_7$ hybrid capacitor, it had high discharge capacitance of 32.8 F/cc at 100 mA/g.

백색 LED의 특성에 대한 ZnS:Mn, Dy 황색 형광체의 영향 (Effect of ZnS:Mn, Dy Yellow Phosphor on White LEDs Characteristics)

  • ZnS:Mn, Dy yellow phosphors for White Light Emitting Diode were synthesized by a solid state reaction method using ZnS, $MnSO_4{\cdot}5H_2O$, S and $DyCl_3{\cdot}6H_2O$ powders as starting materials. The mixed powder was sintered at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 4 h in an air atmosphere. The photoluminescence of the ZnS:Mn, Dy phosphors showed spectra extending from 480 to 700 nm, peaking at 580 nm. The photoluminescence of 580 nm in the ZnS:Mn, Dy phosphors was associated with $^4T_1{\rightarrow}^6A_1$ transition of $Mn^{2+}$ ions. The highest photoluminescence intensity of the ZnS:Mn, Dy phosphors under 450 nm excitation was observed at 4 mol% Dy doping. The enhanced photoluminescence intensity of the ZnS:Mn, Dy phosphors was explained by energy transfer from $Dy^{3+}$ to $Mn^{2+}$. The CIE coordinate of the 4 mol% Dy doped ZnS:Mn, Dy was X = 0.5221, Y = 0.4763. The optimum mixing conditions for White Light Emitting Diode was obtained at the ratio of epoxy : yellow phosphor = 1:2 form CIE coordinate.

Photoluminescence properties of Mn4+-activated Li2ZnSn2O6 red phosphors

  • The Mn4+-activated Li2ZnSn2O6 (LZSO:Mn4+) red phosphors were synthesized by the solid-state reaction at temperatures of 1100-1400 ℃ in air. The synthesized LZSO:Mn4+ phosphors were confirmed to have a single hexagonal LZSO phase without the presence of any secondary phase formed by the Mn4+ addition. With near UV and blue excitation, the LZSO:Mn4+ phosphors exhibited a double band deep-red emission peaked at ~658 nm and ~673 nm due to the 2E → 4A2 transition of Mn4+ ion. PL emission intensity showed a strong dependence on the Mn4+ doping concentration and the 0.3 mol% Mn4+-doped LZSO phosphor produced the strongest PL emission intensity. Photoluminescence emission intensity was also found to be dependent on the calcination temperature and the optimal calcination temperature for the LZSO:Mn4+ phosphors was determined to be 1200 ℃. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) and field-effect scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis revealed that the 0.3 mol% Mn4+-doped LZSO phosphor particles have an irregularly round shape and an average particle size of ~1.46 ㎛.

Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn의 Systematic Variation 시비가 Orchardgrass 및 White Clover중 이들의 상대 함량, 탈취량 및 상호비율에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Systematic Variation Application of Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn on These Relative Contents, Uptake Amounts, and Mutual Ratios in Orchardgrass and White Clover)

  • 미량요소 Fe, Mn, Cu 및 Zn의 systematic variation 시비가 orchardgrass 및 white clover의 생육, 개화, 수량, 양분 함량 등에 미치는 영향 등을 구명하였다. 다량요소 양분을 동일량 시비한 조건에서 Fe/Cu(시험군-1), Mn/Zn(시험군-2) 및 Fe+Cu/Mn+Zn(시험군-3) 시험에서는 각 시험군 처리별 총 시비량을 systematic variation 방법으로 0/100, 25/75, 50/50, 75/25 및 $100/0\%$ 비율로 시비처리 하였고, Fe/Mn/Cu/Zn(시험군-4) 시험에서는 각 주성분을 $70\%$, 기타 성분의 처리를 각각 $10\%$(합계 $100\%$) 비율로 시비처리 하였다. 1. 처러별 미량요소의 상대 함량, 탈취량 및 상호비율은 두 초종간 차이를 보였다. Fe 처리별 Fe-함량, 상대 함량 및 탈취량의 차이는 상대적으로 경미하였고, 반면에 Mn과 Cu의 경우는 이들의 처리에 따라서 다소 일관성 있는 차이를 보였다. 일반적으로 Mn 시비에 따른 높은 U-상대 함량에서는 Fe, Cu 및 Zn은 함량의 면화가 없이 상대 함량이 낮아졌다. 2. 미량요소 탈취량의 증가는 수량 증가와는 다소 다른 특성을 보였고, 처리별 수량 차이가 없이 탈취향의 증가만 보이기도 하였다. Mn 시비에 따른 Mn-탈취량의 증가는 수량의 증가율보다 상대적으로 더 높았다. 각 미량요소 탈취량의 증가는 Mn과 Cu 처리에서는 뚜렷하였으나, Fe과 Zn의 처리에서는 경미한 차이를 보였다. 3. Fe과 Zn보다 Mn과 Cu(특히 Mn)의 처리에 따라서 여러 상호 비율들이 큰 차이를 보였다. Fe/Cu시험에서 처리별 Fe/Cu 비율은 orchardgrass는 6.0~10.5, white clover는 $10.2\~16.4$ 수준의 차이를 보였다. Fe+Cu/Mn+Zn 시험에서 처리별 Mn/Cu, Mn/Zn 및 Fe/Mn 상호 비율이 상대적으로 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 일반적으로 Fe/Mn 비율의 불균형이 white clover의 불량한 생육특성과 연관성이 있고, 이 조건에서도 다른 양이온 미량요소의 시비 비율 또는 상호 비율에 따라서 다소 양호해졌음을 보여주었다.

Ti가 첨가된 Mn-Cu 혼합산화물을 이용한 저온 SCR 반응 특성 (Characterization of Low Temperature Selective Catalytic Reduction over Ti Added Mn-Cu Metal Oxides)

  • 본 연구는 공침법으로 Ti가 첨가된 Mn-Cu 혼합산화물을 이용하여 $200^{\circ}C$ 이하의 저온 영역에서의 $NH_3$-SCR 반응특성에 관한 것이다. 제조된 촉매들은 BET, XRD, XPS, TPD를 이용하여 각각의 물리/화학적 특성을 분석하였다. Mn-Cu 혼합산화물은 매우 큰 비표면적과 저온에서의 높은 SCR 효율을 나타내었으며, Ti가 첨가된 경우 상대적으로 높은 SCR 효율과 $N_2$ 선택도를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과는 Ti가 첨가됨에 따라 화학 흡착된 산소종($Me-O_{ads}$)이 증가하여 NO가 $NO_2$로의 산화가 촉진되고, $Mn^{3+}$와 같은 $NH_3$의 흡착점의 수가 증가되었기 때문이다.

$MnO_2$가 첨가된 PSN-PNN-PT세라믹스의 전기적인 특성 (Electrical properties of $MnO_2$doped PSN-PNN-PT ceramics)

  • In this study, the piezoelectric and dielectric properties and Temperature stability of resonant frequency with MnO$_2$doped 0.36Pb(Sc$_{1}$2/Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_3$- 0.25Pb(Ni$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2}$3/)O$_3$-0.39PbTiO$_3$(hereafter PSNNT) were investigated. The tetagonality of crystal structure was developed with increasing MnO$_2$additive content. With increasing MnO$_2$additive content, the electromechanical coupling factor and quality factor were increased. Electromechanical coupling k$_{p}$ and quality factor Q$_{m}$ at MnO$_2$doped with 2.0mol% were showed highest value of 55.6% and 252. In the case of specimen for MnO$_2$doped with 2mol%, temperature dependance of resonant frequency had a good properties.ies.

  • The effect of MnO2 addition to 0.1mol% Sb2O3-doped BaTiO3 ceramics on microstructure and PTCR characteristics was studied. The PTCR characteristics was observed when 0.01 and 0.02 wt% MnO2 were added and sintered at 132$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The characteristics can be explained by the changes in the number and size of the abnormal grain growth due to the liquid phase during sintering. when the amount of MnO2 addition was 0.03 wt%, the sample showed NTCR characteristics with room-temperature resistivity over 109 Ωm regardless of the sintering temperature. This behavior can be described by the microstructure change due to the abnormal grain growth and charge compensation effect by MnO2 added. The room-temperature resistivity was increased as the amount of MnO2 was increased. And the specific resistivity ratio (pmax/pmin) showed maximum at 0.02wt% MnO2.

  • The sintering and electrical properties of YMnO3 bulk ceramics were investigated with Y/Mn ratios(Mn rich ;0.80/1.20, 0.90/1.10, 0.95/1.05, and Y rich ; 1.00/1.00, 1.05/0.95, 1.10/0.90). The crystal structure of samples showed a hexagonal structure, and the sample of Y/Mn = 0.95/1.05 indicated higher c-axis oriented peak than other samples. In the case of Mn rich samples, the grain sizes were about 7.8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and they showed 95% of theoretical density. Whereas, in the case of Y rich samples, the grain sizes were about 2.3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and they showed 86%. The dielectric constant and dissipation factor of the Mn rich samples were smaller than those of the Y rich samples. The samples of Y/Mn = 0.90/1.10 showed the lowest a dissipation factor, and their dielectric constant, dissipation factor and Curie temperature were 36, 0.0136 and 68$0^{\circ}C$, respectively.
