We synthesized the gold nanoparticles (Au NPs)-embedded methylammonium lead iodide ($MAPbI_3$) film for the first time. The effects of metal nanoparticles on $MAPbI_3$ perovskite were systematically studied using UV-Vis absorption and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. As a result, the 20-nm-sized Au NPs-embedded $MAPbI_3$ film exhibited a 4.15% higher absorbance than the bare $MAPbI_3$ film. Moreover, the average PL intensity of the Au NPs-embedded $MAPbI_3$ film increased by about 75.25% over the bare $MAPbI_3$ film. Therefore, we have confirmed that addition of the Au NPs has a positive effect on the optical properties of $MAPbI_3$, and we believe that this study will provide a basic insight into the metal nanoparticles-embedded perovskite thin films for the future optoelectronic applications.

Methylammonium lead halide ($MAPbX_3$, X = I, Br) thin films, used as the light absorber of perovskite solar cells, were prepared using the dual feed ultrasonic spray method. Going through a deposition at a substrate temperature of below $60^{\circ}C$ and then a final heat treatment at $75^{\circ}C$ for 5 minutes using dual feed ultrasonic spray method, $MAPbI_3$ single phase could be formed. Whereas undergoing a deposition at temperatures above $80^{\circ}C$, the spheroidal grains could be changed into rod-shaped fractal structures due to the decomposition of the perovskite phase. Furthermore, using the same method at a higher heat treatment temperature of $100^{\circ}C$, $MAPbI_{3-x}Br_x$ thin films could also be formed from $MAPbI_3$ and $MAPbIBr_2$ solution.
The one-step spin coating method is reported as an excellent thin film process because it can be easily used to fabricate high-quality methyl-ammonium lead tri-iodide ($MAPbI_3$) perovskite layers. One of the important things in the one-step spin coating method towards obtaining high-quality $MAPbI_3$ layers is the anti-solvent (AS) engineering, which consists of an one-step deposition of the $MAPbI_3$ film and dripping of the AS. The properties of the $MAPbI_3$ layer were found to be strongly influenced by the amount, dispensing speed, and spraying time of the AS solution. The $MAPbI_3$ solution was prepared by dissolving lead iodide and methyl-ammonium iodide in N,N-dimethylformamide and adding N,N-dimethyl sulfoxide. Diethyl ether (DE) was used for the AS solution. The results indicate that a $MAPbI_3$ layer appropriately sprayed with DE is beneficial for improving film quality and device efficiency because nucleation of $MAPbI_3$ layer is affected by the characteristics of DE, which affect the film's crystallinity, density, and surface morphology. The $MAPbI_3$ layer, which was optimized by using 0.7 mL of DE, a 3.03 mL/sec dispensing speed, and a 7 second time to spray after spinning showed the best efficiency of 13.74%, which was reproducible.

Methylammonium lead triiodide ($MAPbI_3$)-based perovskite solar cells potentially have potential advantages such as high efficiency and low-cost manufacturing procedures. However, $MAPbI_3$ is structurally unstable and has low phase-change temperatures ($30^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$); it is necessary to solve these problems. We investigated the crystal structure and phase separation using real-time temperature-change X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and electron energy loss spectroscopy. $MAPbI_3$ has a tetragonal structure, and at about $35^{\circ}C$ the c-axis contracts, transforming $MAPbI_3$ into the related cubic crystal structure. In addition, at $130^{\circ}C$, phase separation occurs in which $CH_3NH_2$ and HI at the center of the unit cell of the perovskite structure are extracted by gas, leavingand only $PbI_2$ of the three-component structure, is produced as the final solid product.
To produce low cost and efficient photovoltaic cells, inorganic-organic lead halide perovskite materials appear promising for most suitable solar cells owing to their high power conversion efficiency. Most recent research showes that formamidinium lead iodide ($FAPbI_3$) with methylammonium lead bromide ($MAPbBr_3$) improves the power conversion efficiency of the solar cell to more than 18 per cent under a standard illumination because incorporated $MAPbBr_3$ makes $FAPbI_3$-relatively unstable but comparatively narrow band gap-more stable composition. In respect to first principle study, we investigated band gap of $MAPbI_3$, $FAPbI_3$, $MAPbBr_3$, $(FAPbI_3)_{0.89}-(MAPbBr_3)_{0.11}$ and 0.615(eV), 0.466, 1.197, 0.518 respectively through EDISON DFT software. These results emphasize enhancing structure stability is important factor as well as finding narrow band gap.

Methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) thin films were grown at low temperatures on glass substrates via 3-zone chemical vapor deposition. Lead iodide (PbI2) and lead bis (dipivaloylmethanate) [Pb(dpm)2] precursors were used as lead sources. Due to the high sublimation temperature (~400℃) of the PbI2 precursor, a low substrate temperature could not be constantly maintained. Therefore, MAPbI3 thin films degraded into the PbI2 phase. In contrast, for the Pb(dpm)2 precursor, a substrate temperature of ~120℃ was maintained because the sublimation temperature of Pb(dpm)2 is as low as 130℃ at a high vapor pressure. As a result, high-quality MAPbI3 thin films were successfully grown on glass substrates using Pb(dpm)2. The rms (root-mean-square) roughness of MAPbI3 thin films formed from Pb(dpm)2 was as low as ~19.2 nm, while it was ~22.7 nm for those formed using PbI2. The grain size of the films formed from Pb(dpm)2 was as large as approximately 350 nm.
Metal halide perovskites are promising photovoltaic materials, but they still have some issues that need to be solved. Hysteresis is a phenomenon that strongly is correlated with ion migration; thus, a fast, easy, and low-temperature method for measuring ion migration is required. Through selective blocking, ion migration can be measured separately, apart from electron migration. In this study, ion migration in metal halide perovskites was measured using a vertical device. At different temperatures, ionic activation energies were obtained for a range of perovskite compositions such as MAPbI3, FAPbI3, CsPbI3, and MAPbBr3. By comparing the measured ionic activation energies with the theoretical values, we conclude that among other possibilities, I- is the migrating ion in MAPbI3, FAPbI3, CsPbI3, and Br- is the migrating in MAPbBr3.

Methylammonium lead halide ($MAPbI_3$) perovskites are considered as promising materials owing to their excellent optical and electrical properties. However, perovskite materials suffer from degradation in air, which limits their practical applications. Here, we demonstrate successful passivation of the $MAPbI_3$ photodetectors through monochloro-para-xylylene (Parylene-C) deposition. The time-dependent photocurrent characteristics were systematically investigated, and we achieved significantly improved device performance and stability with Parylene-C passivation. Based on the excitation-power-dependent photoluminescence (PL) data, we confirmed that Parylene-C can reduce the carrier losses in $MAPbI_3$, leading to the enhancement of photocurrent and PL in $MAPbI_3$ photodetectors.

Field-effect transistors (FETs) are the key elements of conventional electronics; hence, have drawn a lot of research and commercial interests. In recent years, metal halide perovskite materials have achieved a remarkable efficiency of 29.15% in the field of photovoltaics, and have drawn the scientific community's attention to promote their use in the field of optoelectronics, such as FETs and phototransistors. The MAPbI3 (methylammonium lead iodide) perovskite TFT has achieved a record hole mobility of 21.41 cm2/V-s in the year 2020. In this review, we will briefly discuss the physical structure of MAPbI3 perovskite and the essential factors that stimulate these devices, together with the role of defects, the ion migration concept, and the implication of both dielectric and electrode materials on the device's performance.
Photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices based on hybrid metal halide perovskites ($MAPbX_3$; $MA=CH_3NH_3{^+}$, $X=Cl^-$, $Br^-$, or $I^-$) are rapidly improving in power conversion efficiency. Also, during recent years, perovskite single crystals have emerged as promising materials for high-efficiency photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices because of their low defect density. Here we show that the light soaking effect of mixed halide perovskite ($MAPbBr_{3-x}I_x$) single crystals can be explained using photoluminescence, time-resolved photoluminescence, and Raman scattering measurements. Unlike Br-based single crystal, Br/I mixed single crystal show a strong light soaking effect under laser irradiation condition that was related to the existence of multiple phases.
