Let R be a commutative ring with identity. In this paper, we introduce a new class of ideals called the class of strongly quasi J-ideals lying properly between the class of J-ideals and the class of quasi J-ideals. A proper ideal I of R is called a strongly quasi J-ideal if, whenever a, b ∈ R and ab ∈ I, then a² ∈ I or b ∈ Jac(R). Firstly, we investigate some basic properties of strongly quasi J-ideals. Hence, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for a ring R to contain a strongly quasi J-ideals. Many other results are given to disclose the relations between this new concept and others that already exist. Namely, the primary ideals, the prime ideals and the maximal ideals. Finally, we give an idea about some strongly quasi J-ideals of the quotient rings, the localization of rings, the polynomial rings and the trivial rings extensions.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychosomatic health status of printers. The 77 printers and 24 control group were analysed about salary, drinking, smoking, education, sex, marriage, age and working age by the THI (Todai Health Index) questionaire. THI was modified from CMI(Cornell Medical Index) and developed by Tokyo University Research Team in Japan. The resuts obtained were summarized as follows. 1. The printers, who get more salary showed high score about mental conplaints, especially, mental irritability(j), nervusness (E), lie Scale(L), aggressiveness(F) and irregualr life(G) and lower salary showed generally high score about physical complaints, especially, mouth and anus (D), digestive symptom(C) multiple subjective symptom(I). 2. According to the printers drinking amount shows the difference, eg nondrinker scored higher on mouth and anus(D), 90mg/week drinker scored higher on multiple subjective symptom(I), digestive symptom(C), depression(K), nervousness(E), and irregular life(G), 91~179mg/week drinker scored higher on impulsiveness(H), mental irritability(J), 270~359mg/week drinker scored higher on respiratory(A), lie scale (L) and aggressiveness (F). 3. The nonsmoker scored high level on mouth and anus(D), mental irritability(J). The previous smoker scored on multiple symptom(I), eyes and skin(B), digestive(C), lie scale(L), and depression(K). The present smoker scored on respiratory(A), impulsivehess(H), aggressiveness(F), nervousness(E), and irregular life(G). 4. According to the printers working age showed almost high score about subjective symptoms on 1~3 year. 5. Men printers high scored on respiratory(A). lie scale(L), aggressiveness(F), women printers scored about mental complaints, especially, impulsiveness(H), mental irritability(J), depression (K), nervousness (E). 6. According to the printers age showed high scored about, below 20 years were lie scale(L). aggressiveness(F), irregular life(G) 21~30years were multiple subjective symptom(I) respiratory (A), eyes and skin(B), mouth and anus(D), impulsiveness(H), mental irritability(J), depression (K), nervousness(E), and over 41 years were digestive(C). 7. Married printers scored high level on eyes and skin(B), digestive(C) and impulsivehess(H), and single printers on respiratory(A), mouth and anus(D), lie scale(L), mental irritability(J). 8. According to education shows the difference, eg high school scored higher on eyes and skin (B), mental irritability(J), depression(K), nervousness(E), collage and over scored higher on multiple subjective symptom(I ), respiratory (A), mouth and anus (D), lie scale (L), aggressiveness (F), irregular life (G), and middle school scored high on digestive (C), impulsiveness (H).

A 40 channel arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) filter operating in C-band and L-band wavelength regions has been fabricated using PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) processes with 0.75 refractive index difference. Its design was optimized for matching the center wavelength with the ITU-recommended wavelength. The characteristics of the fabricated C-band AWG are as follows; average insertion loss < 2.5 dB, polarization-dependent loss < 0.3 dB, non-adjacent crosstalk >35dB, and the loss uniformity of 0.8 dB. In the L-band AWG, wavelength accuracy is below 0.02nm.

Streptomyces chibaensis J-59 did not grow in the culture medium containing only xylose or xylan as a carbon source, because it was defective in xylulokinase production; xylB mutant. S. chibaensis J-59 was able to produce xylanase and $\beta $-xylosidase as well as glucose isomerase. The glucose isomerase in S. chilbaensis J-59 was induced in the medium containing xylan or xylose which could be utilized as an inducer but not sa carbon and energy sources. So we tried to produce glucose isomerase whthout consumption of xylose or xylan as an inducer by using xylB mutant S. chilbaensis J-59. The optimum condition for the production of the glucose isomerase was attained in a culture medium composed of 1% xylan, 0.15% glucose, 1.5% corn steep liquor, 0.1% MaSO$_{4}$ $\CDOT $7H$_{2}$O, and 0.012% CoCL$_{2}$ $\CDOT $ 6H$_{2}$O(pH 7.0). The production of the enzyme reached to a maximum level when the bacteria were cultured for 42 h at 30$\circ $C. The enzyme production in a jar fermentor was increased twice as much as that in a flask culture.

The discrete structure of substituted 9-benzonorbornenyl cation 3a and 3c was studied using the empirical ${\Delta}$J equation which was developed by Kelly and coworker$^5$. The ${\Delta}$J values of substituted 9-benzonorbornenyl cations were obtained from p-methyl-6,7-dimethyl benzonorbornen-9-yl (3a) and 9-methyl-6,7-dimethyl benzonorbonen-9-yl (3c) cations under stable ion conditions, and were compared with those of the corresponding ketone analog; these cations were generated by dissolving the corresponding carbinols in superacid at -120$^{\circ}$C and the nmr spectra taken at -60$^{\circ}$C~-90$^{\circ}$C. The ${\Delta}$J values are 8.7 Hz for the bridgehead carbons in cation 3c and 3.1 Hz for cation 3b. The ${\Delta}$J values at C5,8 in fused benzene ring are 14.3 Hz for cation 3c and 8.7 Hz for cation 3a. The excellent correlation of the ${\Delta}$J values with 1$^9F$ chemical shifts of p-fluorophenyl-6,7-dimethylbenzonorbornenyl cation (3d) indicate that ${\Delta}$J value is a reliable probe to charge density at adjacent cationic carbon. These NMR parameters strongly support that the symmetrically ${\pi}$-bridged nonclassical structure (type 2) of substituted 9-benzonorbornenyl cations in stable ion conditions.

The aim of this study is to investigate the ductile fracture behaviour under Mode I loading using SA533B pressure vessel steel. Experiments consist of the Round Notch Bar Test (RNB), Single Edge Crack Bending Test (SECB), and V-Notch Bar Test (VNB). Results from the RNB test were used to tune the damage modelling constant. The other tests were performed to acquire the J-resistance curves and to confirm the damage constants. Microstructural observation includes the measurement of crack profile to obtain the roughness parameter. Finally, simulation using Rousellier Ductile Damage Theory (RDDT) was carried out with 4-node quadrilateral element ($L_c=0.25\;mm$). For the crack advance, the failed element removal technique was adopted with a ${\beta}$ criterion. In conclusion, the predicted simulation using RDDT showed a good agreement with the experimental results. A trial using a roughness parameter was made for a new evaluation of J-resistance curve, which is more conservative than the conventional one.

The rate of convergence to a random variable S for an almost certainly convergent series $S_n = \sum^n_{j=1} X_j$ of independent random variables is studied in this paper. More specifically, when $S_n$ converges to S almost certainly, the tail series $T_n = \sum^{\infty}_{j=n} X_j$ is a well-defined sequence of random variable with $T_n \to 0$ a.c. Various sets of conditions are provided so that for a given numerical sequence $0 < b_n = o(1)$, the tail series strong law of large numbers $b^{-1}_n T_n \to 0$ a.c. holds. Moreover, these results are specialized to the case of the weighted i.i.d. random varialbes. Finally, example are provided and an open problem is posed.

This paper deals with the monitoring program based on Windows for Distribution Panel Tester. The monitoring software has variety function : data file conversion, user define data generation, data metering and signal analysis etc. The software is designed for GUI because it provides easy test and control interface for users or operators.
