Two frequency-reconfigurable antennas have been designed and combined in a space with limited volume, i.e., 40mm ${\times}$ 20mm ${\times}$ 6mm. Each antenna can be reconfigured to operate at different frequency bands depending on the state of an embedded switch, which is implemented using a PIN diode. The first antenna can be switched between 0.82GHz ${\sim}$ 0.96GHz band (GSM/ CDMA) and 1.7GHz ${\sim}$ 2.17GHz band (DCS/ PCS/ WCDMA), which are cellular bands. The second antenna can be switched between 3.4GHz ${\sim}$ 3.6GHz band (mWiMax) and 2.3GHz ${\sim}$ 2.5GHz, 5.15GHz ${\sim}$ 5.35GHz bands (WiBro/ WLAN 11a/b/g/n), which are connectivity bands. The proposed combined antenna operates both over cellular bands and connectivity bands concurrently. The choice of the operation bands is made independently by the states of the two switches.

Polyamine concentrations were clearly enhanced in leaves and chloroplasts by Cd treatment, but not in thylakoid and PSII. It appeared that newly synthesized polyamines by Cd are distributed in stromal space. The accumulated polyamines in stromal space could not be adjacent to thylakoid membranes, suggesting that they are already saturated. The levels of putrescine and spermine were about 36 and 20 fold lower in chloroplast than in whole leaf cells respectively, whereas agmatine level was only 3.7 fold lower. The inhibitory effect of Cd nn $O_2$ evolving process was obviously alleviated by 0.2mM spermine supplement. Polyamines stimulated $O_2$ evolution within the range of 0.5mM in spinach thylakoids. It was also found that stimulating effect of polyamines is about 2 fold higher in dicothyledonous spinach than in monocotyledonous wheat at same concentrations. Furthermore, the enhanced activity of $O_2$ evolution was lowered rather by agmatine treatment than by putrescine treatment in wheat, suggesting a difference between monocot and dicot.

This study was performed to compare early stage changes following the administrations of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), Carprofen and their combinations in the experimental canine cranial cruciate ligament rupture. Twenty five mongrel dogs were divided into five groups; Groups 1, 2, and 3 received a sectioning the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) of the right stifle joint, and were administered CLA (250 mg/kg/day/orally), carprofen (4.4 mg/kg/day/orally), and their combinations for 4 weeks beginning 4 weeks postsurgery, respectively. Group 4 received sectioning CCL and no treatment. Group 5 was composed of unoperated normal dogs. The macroscopic observation of cartilage erosions on both the condyles and plateaus were evaluated, and the severity of the cartilage lesions and synovial inflammation was examined histologically at eight weeks after surgery. Histological examinations including hematoxylin and eosin stain, standard toluidine blue method, PAS technique and Masson trichrome technique, hematologic and radiographic evaluation were perfonned after experimental surgery. Slight yellowish discoloration of the surface was found in some of the experimental dogs. However macroscopic findings showed no significant differences among the groups. In radiographic findings, cranial displacement of the proximal tibia relative to the femoral condyles in all groups was observed but no significant differences among the groups was seen. This study showed that oral administration of CLA, carprofen and their combinations revealed no early stage change in the canine stifle joint following experimental rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament.

Predicting the location and intensity of precipitation still remains a main issue in numerical weather prediction (NWP). Resolution is a very important component of precipitation forecasts in NWP. Compared with a lower resolution model, a higher resolution model can predict small scale (i.e., storm scale) precipitation and depict convection structures more precisely. In addition, an ensemble technique can be used to improve the precipitation forecast because it can estimate uncertainties associated with forecasts. Therefore, NWP using both a higher resolution model and ensemble technique is expected to represent inherent uncertainties of convective scale motion better and lead to improved forecasts. In this study, the limited area ensemble prediction system for the convective-scale (i.e., high resolution) operational Unified Model (UM) in Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) was developed and evaluated for the ensemble forecasts during August 2012. The model domain covers the limited area over the Korean Peninsula. The high resolution limited area ensemble prediction system developed showed good skill in predicting precipitation, wind, and temperature at the surface as well as meteorological variables at 500 and 850 hPa. To investigate which combination of horizontal resolution and ensemble member is most skillful, the system was run with three different horizontal resolutions (1.5, 2, and 3 km) and ensemble members (8, 12, and 16), and the forecasts from the experiments were evaluated. To assess the quantitative precipitation forecast (QPF) skill of the system, the precipitation forecasts for two heavy rainfall cases during the study period were analyzed using the Fractions Skill Score (FSS) and Probability Matching (PM) method. The PM method was effective in representing the intensity of precipitation and the FSS was effective in verifying the precipitation forecast for the high resolution limited area ensemble prediction system in KMA.

Purpose : Within a clinically acceptable time frame, we obtained the high resolution MR images of the human brain, knee, foot and wrist from 3T whole-body MRI system which was equipped with the world first 37 active shield magnet. Materials and Methods : Spin echo (SE) and Fast Spin Echo (FSE) images were obtained from the human brain, knee, foot and wrist of normal subjects using a homemade birdcage and transverse electromagnetic (TEM) resonators operating in quadrature and tuned to 128 MHz. For acquisition of MR images of knee, foot and wrist, we employed a homemade saddle shaped RF coil. Topical common acquisition parameters were as follows: matrix=$512{\times}512$, field of view (FOV) =20 cm, slice thickness = 3 mm, number of excitations (NEX)=1. For T1-weighted MR images, we used TR = 500 ms, TE = 10 or 17.4 ms. For T2-weighted MR images, we used TR=4000 ms, TE = 108 ms. Results : Signal to noise ratio (SNR) of 3T system was measured 2.7 times greater than that of prevalent 1.5T system. MR images obtained from 3T system revealed numerous small venous structures throughout the image plane and provided reasonable delineation between gray and white matter. Conclusion The present results demonstrate that the MR images from 3T system could provide better diagnostic quali\ulcorner of resolution and sensitivity than those of 1.5T system. The elevated SNR observed in the 3T high field magnetic resonance imaging can be utilized to acquire images with a level of resolution approaching the microscopic structural level under in vivo conditions. These images represent a significant advance in our ability to examine small anatomical features with noninvasive imaging methods.
The conventional bench blasting method uses the bottom initiation in all blast holes in a round, whereas the MDS (mixture detonation system) method applies the bottom and top initiations alternately according to the spatial position or temporal sequence of each blast hole. The former and latter are respectively called the SMDS (spatial MDS) and TMDS (temporal MDS) methods. Another variant called MMDS (modified MDS) is designed for the specific use in the site having a fly-rock problem. This study compares the MDS method to the conventional method in the aspect of rock fracturing effect. The comparison is made by numerical simulations for a two-row bench blasting model in the LS-DYNA. The SPH-FEM coupling method is utilized for constructing the blasting model. The SPH elements are used for the rock in the near-field region of the blast holes, and the FEM elements for that in the far-field region. The RHT material model is used for the rock. As a result of the simulations, it was found that up to 0.4 m deeper damaged zone was appeared in the SMDS method than in the conventional method for the case of the burden 1.6 m and bench height 3.0 m. In addition, the fly-rock velocity to the normal direction of the bench slope was appeared about 2.0 m/s lower in the MMDS method compared to the other methods.

In this study, the effects of the structural properties of the catalyst on CO oxidation reaction by controlling the $Cu/CeO_2$ catalyst amount and calcination temperature were studied, and also the CO conversion rate of the catalyst at the temperature range of $100{\sim}300^{\circ}C$ was evaluated. XRD, Raman, BET, $H_2-TPR$, and XPS analyses were performed to confirm the effect of changes in the structural properties on the chemical properties of the catalyst. The result confirmed that a substitution bond between Cu and Ce was formed and a lot of Cu and Ce bonds were formed when the catalyst carrying 5 wt.%. Of Cu was calcined at $400^{\circ}C$. The Cu-Ce binding was confirmed by peak shifts in Raman analysis and also peaks appeared in $H_2-TPR$. In addition, the balance state analysis demonstrated that a lot of surface labile oxygen molecules are formed, which can be more easily contributed to the reaction with $Ce^{3+}$ species known to form a substitution bond easily. It was found that CO conversion rate of the catalyst used in this study was close to 100% at $150^{\circ}C$.

The investigation of the infection rate of domestic apple orchards by four types of apple viruses (Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus [ACLSV], Apple stem pitting virus [ASPV], Apple stem grooving virus [ASGV], Apple mosaic virus [ApMV]) and one type of viroid (Apple scar skin viroid, ASSVd) found that most apple trees were infected with viruses and viroid at the rate of 97.3%. By region, the infection rate in Jeongseon stood at 98.8%, Danyang at 100%, Yesan at 100%, Jangsu at 89.1%, and Muju at 98.1%. By each virus and viroid, the infection rate of ASGV was the highest at 93.4%, followed by ASPV at 85.7%, ACLSV at 59.0%, ASSVd at 6.7%, and ApMV at the lowest 3.6%. In addition, 84.8% of the cases were infected with two or more types of viruses and viroid, nearly seven times the single type infection rate of 12.4%, and the cases infected with three viruses, ASPV, ACLSV, and ASGV accounted for 56.2%, more than the half the total number of trees investigated.
Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the causes and pathologic process of chronic non-productive cough as an isolated symptom with a normal spirometry and chest radiograph by investigating clinicopathologic findings. Method: We studied 25 adults with chronic non-productive cough over a 3-week period with a normal chest radiograph and pulmonary function tests without any other symptoms. Clinical assessment, cough score, chest and sinus radiograph, pulmonary function tests, methacholine challenge, allergic skin prick test, and bronchoscopy for bronchial biopsies were performed. Subjects were then treated with prednesolone 20 to 30 mg/day for 1 to 2 weeks. Results: The experimental group was divided into two subgroups-those infiltrated with eosinophils, and those infiltrated with lymphocytes depending on eosinophil and lymphocyte counts, both of which were respectively higher than those of the control group. Eosinophils infiltrated group had mean numbers of eosinophil of 89.8 $cells/mm^3$ while control group's mean was 0.4 $cells/mm^2$(p=0.005). Lymphocyte infiltrated group was 4 patients whose mean was 84.3 $cells/mm^2$ with 28.4 $cells/mm^2$ of control group(P=0.026). In addition, the mean thickness of the basement membrane of experimental group was $14.20{\pm}5.20{\mu}m$ in contrast of control group whose mean was $3.50{\pm}1.37{\mu}m$(P=0.001). With the methacholine challenge test, 7 of the 21 eosinophil infiltrated subjects were diagnosed with cough variant asthma ; the other 14 with eosinophilic bronchitis. Three subjects with eosinophilic bronchitis were atopic positive (21.4%) with the skin prick test In the lymphocyte dominant group, all four subjects were diagnosed with lymphocytic bronchitis. Cough score was improved after steroid treatment in 22 of 25 subjects in the experimental group (88.0%). Conclusion: These results suggest chronic non-productive cough as an isolated symptom with a normal spirometry and chest radiograph was associated with airway inflammation by eosinophil and lymphocyte infiltration. The causes for chronic non-productive cough were eosinophilic bronchitis, cough variant asthma, and lymphocytic bronchitis(written in frequency). They further suggest that therapeutic treatment with steroids can provide effective symptomatic relief.
In order to investigate the amounts of trace elements flowing into reservoir, and to elucidate the relationship between trace element mobility and fraction size, the stream water and sediment samples were collected from thirty-two sites of the 3rd or 4th order stream within watershed surrounding the Juam reservoir. Chemical analyses of trace elements (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn) for all samples were completed, and additionally cationi and anion for stream water samples. Considering the distribution of rocks and contamination sources in watershed, the eight stream sediments were selected from typical sites representing study areas, and we determined the concentrations of trace elements according to size fractions ($2\;mm{\sim}200\;{\mu}m$, $200{\sim}100\;{\mu}m$, $100{\sim}50\;{\mu}m$, $50{\sim}20\;{\mu}m$ and < $20\;{\mu}m$). The correlation relationships between concentrations and size fractions of stream sediments were important to identify the hydro-geochemical behavior of trace elements that flow into Juam reservoir. Stream waters showed four water types (Ca-Mg-$HCO_3$, Ca-Na-$HCO_3$-Cl, Ca-Na-$HCO_3-SO_4$, Ca-Na-$HCO_3$) depending on pollution sources such as coal mine, metal mine, farm-land and dwellings. Concentrations of trace elements increased clearly with the decrease in size fractions of stream sediments. Concentrations of Cu, Pb and Zn increased dramatically in silt size (< $20\;{\mu}m$) fraction, while As had high concentrations in sand size ($2\;mm{\sim}100\;{\mu}m$) fraction in downstream sediments of metal mines. These indicate that Cu, Zn, and Pb moved into Juam reservoir easily in the adsorbed form on silt size grain in sediments, and As was transported as As-bearing mineral facies, resulting in its less chance to reach into Juam reservoir.
