  • Two kinds of optically-triggered p-i-n switches with planar and V-groove structures have been fabricated with gold-doped silicon. The V-groove device exhibits a higher threshold voltage and is more sensitive to light. The minimum optical power indicates that a certain minimum illumination is required to optically turn on the silicon p-i-n devices.

  • We will show that let X and Y be M -finite Banach spaces with canonical M-decompositions $X{\cong}{{\prod}^{{\gamma}_{\infty}}_{i=1}}{X^{n_i}}_{i}\;and\;Y{\cong}{{\prod}^{{\bar{\gamma}}_{\infty}}_{j=1}}{\tilde{Y}^{m_j}}_{j}$, respectively and M and N nonzero locally compact Hausdorff spaces. Then I : $C_{0}$(M,X) ${\longrightarrow}\;C_{0}$(N,Y) is an isometrical isomorphism if and only if r = $\bar{r}$ and there are permutation and homeomorphisms and continuous maps such that I = ${I^{-1}}_{N.Y}\;{\circ}I_{w}^{-1}{\circ}({{\prod}^{\gamma}}_{i=1}I_{t_i,u_i}){\circ}I_{M,X}$.

For m>n$\geq$0, let G(sub)m,n be the Galois group Gal($\kappa$(sub)m/$\kappa$(sub)n) and C(sub)m be the group of circular units of $\kappa$(sub)m. Let l be the number of prime ideals of $\kappa$ above p. Then, for mm>n$\geq$0, we have (1) C(sub)m(sup)G(sub)m,n = C(sub)n, (2) H(sup)i(G(sub)m,n, C(sub)m) = (Z/p(sup)m-n Z)(sup)l-1 if i is even, (3) H(sup)i(G(sub)m,n, C(sub)m) = (Z/P(sup)m-n Z)(sup l) if i is odd (※Equations, See Full-text).

  • Amphoteric surfactants were synthesized by the cyclization of 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazoline [I] with acrylic acid ethyl ester. Compound [I] was easily hydrolyzed with water, especially in the presence of a alkali, to afford amidoamines. After [I] was hydrolyzed, the reaction mixture was allowed to react with acrylic acid ethyl ester and then soapoinfied. Only sodium salts of N- -(2-carboxyethyl)-N'-(2-hydroxyethyl)aminoethyl]dodecanoyl amide[III] was obtained. However, when the reacton of [I] with acrylic acid ethyl ester was carried out in the presence of water, followed by soapnification, ring cleavage of [I] occurred at 2, 3 position, different from hydrolysis of [I] where the cleavage occurred at 1, 2 position, to give sodium salts of N-[N'-(2-carboxyethyl)aminoethyl]-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)dodecanoyl amide [IV] and N-[N', N'-bis(2-carboxyethyl)aminoethyl]-N(2-hydroxyethyl)dodecanoyl amide [V] as main products.

Set $S_n={\sum\limits^n_{i=1}^\{X_i}$, the precise asymptotics for ${\varepsilon}^{{\frac{2(r-p)}{2-p}}-1}\sum\limits_{n{\geq}1}n^{{\frac{r}{p}}-{\frac{1}{p}}+{\frac{1}{2}}}P({\mid}S_n{\mid}{\geq}{\varepsilon}n^{{\frac{1}{p}}})$,${\varepsilon}^2\sum\limits_{n{\geq}3}{\frac{1}{nlogn}}p({\mid}Sn{\mid}{\geq}{\varepsilon\sqrt{nloglogn}})$ and ${\varepsilon}^{2{\delta}+2}\sum\limits_{n{\geq}1}{\frac{(loglogn)^{\delta}}{nlogn}}p({\mid}S_n{\mid}{\geq}{\varepsilon\sqrt{nloglogn}})$ as ${\varepsilon}{\searrow}0$ are established under the suitable conditions.

  • Let {X, $X_{i};\;i{\geq}1$} be a sequence of independent and identically distributed positive random variables. Denote $S_n= \sum\array\\_{i=1}^nX_i$ and $S\array\\_n^{(k)}=S_n-X_k$ for n ${\geq}$1, $1{\leq}k{\leq}n$. Under the assumption of the finiteness of the second moments, we derive a type of the law of the iterated logarithm for $S\array\\_n^{(k)}$ and the limit point set for its certain normalization.

  • 본 연구에서는, Banach 공간의 값을 갖는 확률요소들의 합 $S_n=\sum_{i=1}^nV-i$ 수렴하는 경우에, Tail 합 $T_n=S-S_{n-1}=\sum_{i=n}^{\infty}V-i$에 대한 대수의 법칙을 고찰하여 $S_n$이 하나의 확률변수 S로 수렴하는 속도를 연구한다. 좀 더 구체적으로 말하자면, 확률변수들의 Tail 합과 확률요소들의 Tail 합에 대한 극한 성질의 유사성을 연구하여, Banach 공간에서 독립인 확률요소들의 Tail 합에 대한 약 대수의 법칙과 하나의 수렴법칙이 동등함을 기술하는 기존의 정리를 다른 대체적인 방법으로 증명한다.

  • Let ℕ be the set of nonnegative integers and 𝕬 be a 2-torsion free triangular algebra over a commutative ring ℛ. In the present paper, under some lenient assumptions on 𝕬, it is proved that if Δ = {𝛿n}n∈ℕ is a sequence of ℛ-linear mappings 𝛿n : 𝕬 → 𝕬 satisfying ${\delta}_n([[x,\;y],\;z])\;=\;\displaystyle\sum_{i+j+k=n}\;[[{\delta}_i(x),\;{\delta}_j(y)],\;{\delta}_k(z)]$ for all x, y, z ∈ 𝕬 with xy = 0 (resp. xy = p, where p is a nontrivial idempotent of 𝕬), then for each n ∈ ℕ, 𝛿n = dn + 𝜏n; where dn : 𝕬 → 𝕬 is ℛ-linear mapping satisfying $d_n(xy)\;=\;\displaystyle\sum_{i+j=n}\;d_i(x)d_j(y)$ for all x, y ∈ 𝕬, i.e. 𝒟 = {dn}n∈ℕ is a higher derivation on 𝕬 and 𝜏n : 𝕬 → Z(𝕬) (where Z(𝕬) is the center of 𝕬) is an ℛ-linear map vanishing at every second commutator [[x, y], z] with xy = 0 (resp. xy = p).

Relationships between Methionine Supply, Nitrogen Retention and Plasma Insulin-like Growth Factor-I in Growing Sheep Nourished by Total Intragastric Infusions

  • Four 4-month old Charolais${\times}$Dorset male sheep (initial liveweight $25.0{\pm}1.1\;kg$), fitted with rumen and abomasal fistulas and nourished by total intragastric infusions, were used to study the relationships between methionine (Met) supply, nitrogen (N) retention and plasma insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I). Four graded levels of Met, i.e. 0 g/16 g N, 1.76 g/16 g N, 3.52 g/16 g N and 7.04 g/16 g N, were infused into abomasums as experimental treatments. The sheep and treatments were allocated in a $4{\times}3$ incomplete Latin square design (Yudon square design). The experiment lasted 3 periods and each period was 10 days. Quadratic correlations were found between Met level (x, g/16 g N) and N retention (y, g/d): y = $-0.03x^2$+0.41x+2.62, $r^2$ = 0.66, n = 12, p = 0.008, and between methionine level (x, g/16 g N) and plasma IGF-I concentration (y, ng/ml): y = $0.80x^2$-4.53x+190.24, $r^2$ = 0.51, n = 12, p = 0.009. No significant correlation was found between plasma IGF-I (x, ng/ml) and N retention (y, g/d) (p>0.05). It was concluded that Met level had a significant influence on N retention and plasma IGF-I concentration whereas IGF-I might not be an important mediator in the regulation of N metabolism by Met in growing sheep nourished by total intragastric infusions.

Radix 4 Polar code의 부호 및 복호 (Encoding & Decoding of Radix 4 Polar Code)

  • Polar code는 터키 Erdal Arikan교수가 2006년 입력된 채널을 나누면 Cutoff Rate이 향상되는데 착안하여 Polar code를 제안했다. 채널분극은 주어진 B-DMC(Binary-input Discrete Memoryless Channel) W에서 대칭 용량의 높은 비율을 가진 연속적인 code로 이루어져 있다. 대칭 용량은 동등한 확률을 가진 채널의 입력을 이용하여 높은 비율을 얻는데 채널분극은 주어진 B-DMC W의 N개의 독립적인 출력을 모은 것이다. 즉, N은 Binary입력 채널 {$W^{(i)}_N\;:\;1{\leq}\;i\;{\leq}\;N$} 일 때, N이 커지게 되고, I{WN(i)}에서 값이 1에 가까워지면 그 값은 I(W)로 접근되고, I{WN(i)} 값이 0에 가까워지면 1-I(W)에 접근된다. 여기에서 I(W)는 신뢰성 있는 통신상에서의 동등한 주파수를 가진 W의 입력으로 높은 비율을 나타낸다. 이로써 {WN(i)}는 결국 채널코딩을 위한 적합한 상태라고 볼 수 있다. Polar code를 바탕으로, 본 논문은 Arikan의 Polar code의 부호화와 복호화를 분석하고 새롭게 Radix4의 Polar code 부호화를 제안했다.
