  • This paper deals with an exit strip gauge controller design for a cold rolling mill process with one input and two outputs. In order to attenuate the exit strip gauge variation caused by the Back-up roll eccentricity and the entry guage variation, an H$_{\infty}$ controller design methodology is used to keep the frequency weighted mixed sensitivity function small.   • The H$_{\infty}$ algorithms of the mixed weight sensitivity is used for the robust design of the reactor power control system. The mixed weight sensitivity method requires the selection of the proper weighting functions for the loop shaping in frequency domain. The complexity of the system equation and the non-convexity of the problem make it very difficult to determine the weighting functions. The genetic algorithm which is improved and hybridized with the simulated annealing is applied to determine the weighting functions. This approach permits an automatic calculation and the resultant system shows good robustness and performance.

  • This paper presents a robust vibration control methodology of smart structural systems. The governing equations and associated boundary conditions are derived by Hamilton's principle. A robust controller is designed using a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach to the multiobjective synthesis. The design objectives are to achieve a mix of H$\sub$$\infty$/ performance and H$_2$ performance satisfying constraints on the closed-loop pole locations in the face of model uncertainties. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of LMI approach in damping out the multiple modes of vibration of the piezo/beam system.

  • 자동차의 과도한 차체 운동과 조종 불안정성을 유발하는 대표적인 외란 입력으로는 운전자에 의해 가해지는 조향 핸들 조작이다. 급격하고 과도한 핸들 조작은 SUV 차량처럼 기하학적 및 동역학적 특성에 따라 차량 전복 현상도 발생시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이에 대응할 수 있는 제어 시스템의 구조화에 대하여 다음과 같이 기초 연구를 수행하였다. 운전자 조종으로 유발되는 횡방향 거동에 대한 수학적 모델링을 수행하고, 이를 토대로 차체 운동을 제어할 수 있는 제어기를 설계하였다. 파라미터 불확실성으로 인한 모델링 오차에 대해 강건한 제어 성능을 확보하기 위하여 $H_{\infty}$ 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 비 연성화된 1/4 차량을 기반으로, 차체에 작용하는 모우멘트에 상응하는 동적 부하를 모사할 수 있는 모델을 제시하였다. 동적 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 부하 모사 모델의 타당성을 파악하였다. 차체- 차축- 서스펜션- 타이어로 조합되는 1/4 실험 차량 장치와 부하 모사 모듈, 서스펜션 제어 모듈 및 Hils 기술을 적용하는 차체 거동 제어 시스템에 대한 프레임워크를 제안하였다.

H^$\infty$ Controller Design Based on NLCF Models: A Unified Approach for Continuous and Discrete Systems

  • In this paper, a unified approach to the H\ulcorner controller design is proposed under the $\delta$-form for both continuous and discrete systems. Most of important basic concepts of H\ulcorner control, such as inner, co-inner, GCARE and GFARE, are reformulated by the unified form. The NLCF(Normalized left Comprime Factor) plant description has been reviewed in the $\delta$-form, and some corresponding results are proposed. And the unified H\ulcorner controller is designed which is based on the McFarlane and Glover{1]. The state-space parameterization for all suboptimal controllers is given under the NLCF model which may not be strictly proper, and the central controller is derived by using the solution to Hankel norm approximation problem[2]. The unified controller is applied to the industrial boiler control problem to exemplify the performance of the controller.

  • In this paper, robust motion control of a flexible micro-actuator is presented. The actuator is made of a bimorph piezoelectric high-polymer material (PVDF). No mathematical model system can exactly model a physical system such a flexible micro-actuator. For this reason we must be aware of how modeling errors might adversely affect the performance of a control system for such a model. The H method addresses a wide range of the control problems, combining the frequency and time domain approaches. The design is an optimal one in the sense of minimization of the maximum of the closed-loop transfer function. It includes colored measurement and process noise. It also addresses the issues of robustness due to model uncertainties, and is applicable to the, flexible micro-actuator control problem. Therefore, we adopt the H control problem to the robust motion control of the flexible micro-actuator. Theoretical and experimental results demonstrate the satisfactory performance and the effectiveness of the designed controller. the effectiveness of the designed controller.

뱅-뱅 액츄에이터를 가진 위치 제어계의 강인 제어 (Robust control of positioning systems with a bang-bang actuator)

  • 본 논문에서는 기계적 위치 제어계에서 다단계 뱅-뱅 액츄에이터의 비선형성에 의한 목표 위치에서의 리미트 사이클을 방지하는 제어방법을 제안한다. 다단계 뱅-뱅 액츄에이터의 선형화된 모델인 기술함수를 이용하여 비선형성을 보상한다. 강인성을 확보하기 위해 루프 형성 기법에 의한 H/sub .inf./ 제어기가 설계된다. 제안된 제어방법은 기존의 선형제어기보다 비선형성이 보상되어 사역대가 작아지므로 최소 제어 가능 구간을 줄일 수 있다. 1축 위치 제어계의 실험을 하여 제안된 제어방법이 리미트 사이클을 줄이고 제어정도를 향상 시키는데 유효함을 입증하였다.

  • This survey paper reviews robust control problems in both frequency domain and time domain. Robust control is focused on model uncertainties such as modeling error, system parameter variations, and disturbances. Robust control design problems are discussed according to parameter uncertainty, polytopic uncertainty, and norm-bounded uncertainty. Nowadays, robust control theory is combined with various control theory such as model predictive control, adaptive control, intelligent control, and time delay control.

이미지 센서를 이용한 크레인의 흔들림 계측 및 제어 (Measurement and Control of Swing Motion Using Image Sensor)

  • In general, the swing motion of the crane is controlled and suppressed by activating the trolley motion. In many papers reported by us, we suggested a new type of anti-sway control system of the crane. In the proposed control system, a small auxiliary mass(moving-mass) is installed on the spreader and the swing motion is controlled by moving the auxiliary mass. The actuator reaction against the auxiliary mass applies inertial control forces to the container in order to reduce the swing motion in the desired manner. The measuring system is based on laser sensor or others. However it is not so useful in real world. Especially, in this paper, the image sensor is used to measures the motions of the spreader and the measured data are fed back to the controller in real time. The applied image processing technique is a kind of robust template matching method which is named Vector Code Correlation (VCC) and devised to consider the real environmental conditions. And the $H_{\infty}$ based control technique is applied to suppress swing motion of the crane. And the experimental result shows that the proposed measurement system based on image sensor and control system is useful and robust to disturbances.

  • This paper provides an overview of the basics and recent studies of Lyapunov-based nonlinear adaptive control, the aim of which is to improve or maintain the performance and stability of the closed-loop system by cancelling out the presumable uncertainties in the nonlinear system dynamics. The design principles are essentially based on Lyapunov's direct method. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive overview of Lyapunov-based nonlinear adaptive control techniques with simplified effective design examples, which are to be elaborated as related recent results are gradually shown. The scope of the survey contains research on singularity problems in adaptive control, the techniques to deal with linearly and nonlinearly parameterized uncertainties, robust neuro-adaptive control, and adaptive control methodologies combined with various nonlinear control techniques such as sliding-mode control, back-stepping, dynamic surface control, and optimal/$H_{\infty}$ control.
