Korean-made alloys 600 and 690 tubes were evaluated by flare tests according to ASTM standards, and acting stresses during the test ore analyzed. All the tubes, including alloys 600 and 690 tubes with various heat treatment conditions, satisfied the requirement with 30 or 35750.D expansion. Axial stresses in alloy 690 tubes were higher than those in alloy 600 ones and the gap increased gradually with flaring percentage(F.P, %). Assuming the tubes as the rigid-perfectly plastic body, a stress equation was obtained using modified Tresca's yield criterion. Also microstructural change of the flared tubes was discussed with the acting stresses.

In this paper a practical limit load estimating procedure is proposed for general pipe-elbow structures subjected to complex loading (in-plane and out-of-plane bending, internal pressure and axial force). The explicit calculating formulae are presented on the basis of theoretical analysis combined with numerical simulation. Von Mises' yield criterion is adopted in both analytical and numerical calculation. The finite element examination shows that the method provides a simple but satisfactory prediction of pipe structures in engineering plastic analysis.

An adaptive code rate change scheme in DS-SSMA systems is proposed. In the proposed scheme, the error correcting code rate is changed according to the channel state, the effective number of users. The channel state is estimated based on retransmission requests. The criterion for the change of the code rate is to maximize the throughput under given error bound.

The existence and the regularity of the particle trajectory flow X(x, t) along a velocity field u on $\mathbb{R}^n$ are discussed under the BMO-blow-up condition: $${\int}_{0}^{T}{\parallel}{\omega}({\tau}){\parallel}_{BMO}d{\tau}<{\infty}$$ of the vorticity ${\omega}{\equiv}{\nabla}{\times}u$. A comment on our result related with the mystery of turbulence is presented.

The effects of electromagnetic wave in very low frequency band on human body. It's effects on human body in the LRT(Light Rail Transit) are measured and tested at the test track in Kyongsan. The measured results are analyzed by the criterion announced by Ministry of information and communication in republic of Korea.

This paper describes the contingency analysis methods which are used in the transmission reliability program, TPLAN. Reliability criterion, reliability assessment, ranking methods, and screening methods are discussed. In addition, a simple 25-bus system was tested with TPLAN and its analyses are presented in this paper.

This study is focused on investigating the characteristics of internal flow of the polymer reactor and its effect on the polymer quality. Four types of polymer reactor which have different kind of impeller, baffle and operation condition were calculated by CFD. Fluent 6 have been used to simulate mixing phenomena of reactor. According to the comparison of computational results and SEM photographs of polymer particle, distribution of turbulent dissipation rate greatly influences on the quality of polymer. So, distribution of turbulent dissipation rate to be important criterion to predict polymer quality.

This paper focuses on the asymptotic stability of a class of neutral linear systems with mixed time-varying delay arguments. Using the Lyapunov method, a delay-dependent stability criterion to guarantee the asymptotic stability for the systems is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The LMIs can be easily solved by various convex optimization algorithms. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the proposed methods.
