CO2냉매용 제어밸브의 응답 특성 (Transient Response Analysis of a Control Valve for CO2 Refrigerant)

  • Pilot operated control valve for $CO_2$ refrigerant is a valve that can perform various functions according to the user's intention by replacing pilot units, widely used for flow rate, pressure, and temperature control of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. In addition, $CO_2$ refrigerant, that requires high pressure and low critical temperature, can be installed and used in all positions of the refrigeration system, regardless of high or low pressure. In this paper, response characteristics are modeled and analyzed based on behavior of the main piston of the pilot-operated control valve. Although various factors influence operation of the main piston, this paper analyzes the effect of equilibrium pressure depending on valve installation position and application, and inlet and outlet orifice size of the load pressure feedback chamber to determine feedback characteristics of the main piston. As a result, it was possible to quantitatively analyze the effect of change in equilibrium and load pressure feedback chamber flow path size on the change in main piston dynamic and static characteristics.

  • In the respect of the environmental protection viewpoint, the $CO_2$ may be regarded as one of the most attractive alternative refrigerants for an automotive air-conditioning system. Control methods for a $CO_2$ system should be newly developed, because properties of $CO_2$ are different compared with those of classical refrigerants. Especially, high-side pressure of a $CO_2$ system should be controlled for the effective operation of the system. In this study, intelligent control algorithms for a $CO_2$ system were developed ‘ These are a high-side pressure control algorithm and an indoor air temperature control algorithm. These algorithms were analysised by using dynamic models of a $CO_2$ system.

  • In order to protect the environment from the refrigerant pollution, the $CO_2$ may be regarded as one of the most attractive alternative refrigerants for an automotive air-conditioning system. Control methods for a $CO_2$ system should be different because of $CO_2's$ unique propel-ties as a refrigerant. Especially, the high-side pressure of a $CO_2$ system should be controlled for the effective operation of the system. In this study, dynamic models of a $CO_2$ air-conditioning system were developed by using experimental data. Control algorithms for a high-side pressure control and an indoor air temperature control were developed and analysed by using the dynamic simulation program of a $CO_2$ system.

Numerical Model Simulation of DF-CO$_2$ Transfer Chemical Laser

  • Theoretical analysis of DF-$CO_2$ transfer chemical laser is performed through simple kinetic model consisting of 30 chemical reactions. In this model, we calculate the power theoretically by solving the rate equations, which are related to the $D_2\;+\;F_2$ chain reaction and the DF-$CO_2$ resonance energy transfer, combined with both the gain processes and the stimulated emission processes. The calculated powers are verified with previously reported results in good agreements. The output energy rises linearly with the increase in pressure, and the duration time of output pulse show the inverse dependence on pressure. Through the detailed calculation of temperature and concentrations of reactants as a function of time, it is found that the deactivation processes of DF(v) can be neglected in low pressure, but they have to be considered in high pressure. From the parametric study for the variation on [$D_2]/[F_2$] and [$CO_2]/[D_2\;+\;F_2$] at several constant total pressure, the optimum lasing conditions are found to be in a range of 1/3 to 1 and 2 to 4, respectively.

초임계이산화탄소(scCO2) 주입압력 측정에 의한 장기분지 응회암과 이암의 scCO2 차폐능 평가 (Evaluation of the Sealing Capacity of the Supercritical CO2 by the Measurement of Its Injection Pressure into the Tuff and the Mudstone in the Janggi Basin)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 $CO_2$ 지중저장 후보지인 장기분지에서 덮개암층으로 대표되는 이암과 응회암 코아에 대하여, 초임계이산화탄소(supercritical $CO_2$; $scCO_2$) 초기 주입압력을 측정하고 90일 동안 지화학 반응 실험 결과에 근거하여 두 암석의 $scCO_2$ 차폐능(sealing capacity)을 평가하였다. 장기분지 $CO_2$ 주입 예정부지 주변에서 수행한 대심도시추코아 중 깊이 800 m 이상 되는 이암과 응회암 코아를 대상으로 $scCO_2$ 초기 주입압력을 측정하였다. 스테인레스 강철로 제작한 고압셀(100 mL 용량)을 이용하여 지중저장 조건(100 bar, $50^{\circ}C$)에서 $scCO_2$-지하수-암석 반응을 실시하여 반응 전/후 광물 변화를 관찰하여 덮개암의 지화학적 안정성을 평가하였다. 덮개암에 대한 초기 $scCO_2$ 주입압력을 측정하기 위하여 원통형 스테인레스강철 고압셀 내부에 암석 코아를 고정시키고, 코아 상부와 하부의 압력 차이(100 - 300 bar)를 이용하여 증류수로 포화시킨 후, 고압셀 외부에 부착된 압력계를 이용하여 코아 내에 포화된 공극수압을 100 bar로 유지시켰다. 지중저장 현장에서 덮개암 내부로 $scCO_2$가 이동하는 경계조건을 모사하기 위하여 고압셀 출구를 $scCO_2$와 증류수로 채워진 대형 고압탱크(5 L 용량; 100 bar, $50^{\circ}C$ 유지)에 연결시켜, 고압셀에 고정된 암석 코아 공극 내로 침투하는 경우 지중저장 조건 하에서 일정량의 $scCO_2$가 코아를 통과할 수 있도록 하였다. 셀 입구에서는 코아의 공극수압인 100 bar보다 높게 유지시켜 $scCO_2$를 주입하되, 주입이 지속적으로 진행되기 시작하는 최소 주입압력($100bar+{\Delta}p$)을 암석에 대한 주입압력으로 측정하였다. 90일 반응 후 응회암과 이암의 큰 광물학적 변화는 없는 것으로 나타나 두 암석 모두 $scCO_2$ 주입 시 지화학적으로 안정한 것으로 나타났다. 응회암의 경우 공극수압과 $scCO_2$ 주입압력 차이(${\Delta}p$)가 15 bar에서 $scCO_2$의 내부 침투가 시작되어 20 bar 이후부터는 지속적인 $scCO_2$ 주입이 이루어졌다. 이암의 경우에는 ${\Delta}p$를 150 bar까지 증가시켜도 $scCO_2$가 주입되지 않아 응회암보다 $scCO_2$ 차폐효과가 약 10 배 높은 것으로 나타나, 장기분지에 $CO_2$ 주입 시 응회암보다는 이암층이 덮개암 역할을 할 것으로 판단되었다.

CNG 및 CO2 겸용 수송을 위한 압력용기 개념 설계에 대한 연구 (Study on Conceptual Design of Pressure Vessel to Transport CNG and CO2)

  • Recently, there has been an increase in the demand for natural gas as a source of clean energy, which has increased the demand for LNG carriers. However, LNG carriers require a capital investment to obtain equipment for the regasification process, which prevents fires and explosions. Thus, on account of NIMBY, a CNG carrier is suggested that eliminates the need for regasification equipment. Meanwhile, carbon dioxide emissions are more and more regulated by international conventions such as the Kyoto Protocol. Because of this, $CO_2$ carriers have also received international attention as a methodology to transport and store $CO_2$ cargoes. Several vessels or tanks to transport and store $CO_2$ gas have been studied in various countries. This paper proposes a conceptual design for a 20ft container shaped tank to effectively transport small cargoes of $CO_2$ and CNG. The proposed pressure vessel or tank will be carried by a conventional containership or special cargo ship. The influences of the design parameters for proposed pressure vessel or tank. Including the materials, scantlings, and shape of the pressure vessel, are studied theoretically and computationally.

포장조건에 따른 한국전통 된장과 고추장의 품질변화 (Effect of packaging conditions on the quality changes of fermented soy paste and red pepper paste)

  • 10개월 숙성된 전통 된장과 고추장을 232 mL의 유리병 용기에 포장조건을 다르게 하여 각각 180g과 150g씩 포장하고, $13^{\circ}C$에서 저장하면서 포장내의 기체조성, 색택, 총산, pH 등의 품질변화를 측정하였다. 포장 처리구로서는 핀홀을 장착시켜서 통기성을 준 경우와 $CO_2$ 흡수제로서 $Ca(OH)_2$를 장착시킨 경우에 대하여 실험하였다. 된장과 고추장 모두에서 대조구 밀봉포장은 저장중 높은 $CO_2$ 분압의 증가를 일으키고 $O_2$ 분압의 감소소멸를 나타내나, 질소분압은 비교적 일정한 수준에서 유지하여 높은 압력을 발생시켰다. 반면에 $Ca(OH)_2$ 함유포장에서는 저장 70일 부근까지 비교적 낮은 $CO_2$ 분압를 유지하여서 큰 압력 발생 없이 저장이 가능하였다. 핀흘을 장착시킨 통기성 포장에서는 $O_2$ 분압과 $N_2$ 분압이 감소하고 $CO_2$ 분압은 계속 상승한 후, 완만히 감소하였다. 이러한 포장내의 기체조성의 변화는 장류의 품질변화에 영향을 미쳐서 핀홀을 가진 포장에서 그 변화의 정도가 상대적으로 약간 작았으나, 된장 포장의 경우 저장 120일 이후에 곰팡이 오염과 성장의 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 저장 70 여일 후에 측정한 미생물 군집의 변화에서는 포장간에 뚜렷한 차이를 발견할 수 없었다. 핀홀 포장은 저장 전기간동안 포장내에 압력 발생 없이 낮은 $O_2$ 농도와 높은 $CO_2$ 농도를 유지하여 상대적으로 작은 품질변화를 얻을 수 있는 것으로 평가되나 냄새유출과 외부로부터의 오염 문제의 해결을 필요로 한다.

보건용 마스크의 분진포집효율, 흡기저항 및 CO2 농도 (Dust Collection Efficiency, Inhalation Pressure, and CO2 Concentration in Health Masks)

  • Objectives: To identify the degree of physical burden, a determination was undertaken of dust collection efficiency, inhalation pressure, and CO2 concentration related to health masks certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). Methods: Twenty health masks were purchased on the market. Dust collection efficiency and inhalation pressure were determined in the same manner as in MFDS certification testing, respectively using TSI Model 8130 (TSI, U.S.) and ART Plus (Korea). CO2 concentrations for 20 subjects using a CO2 analyzer (G100, G150, Geotechnical Instrument Ltd., UK) were measured with a similar method as a total inward leakage test. In addition to CO2 levels, dead space volumes in the masks was determined for predicting concentrations of CO2 in inhalation air. Results: Most of the dust collection efficiencies found for the 20 masks were far higher than the standard. Four KF94s met KF99 and four KF80s even met KF94. Most inhalation pressures were also much lower than the standard, with many almost one-half of the standard. The mean and standard deviation of CO2 concentration in the mask were 2.9±0.44%. Considering dead volume, the prediction for CO2 concentration in the inhalation air was 4,395±1,266 ppm. Conclusions: For healthy men and women, the dust collection efficiency and inhalation pressure of health masks were not at a level that would affect their health. Although CO2 levels in the inhalation air were predicted not to affect health, research on the physiological effects of health masks on Koreans is needed for more precise research.

내경 4.57과 7.75 mm인 수평관내 이산화탄소의 증발 압력강하 (Evaporation Pressure Drop of Carbon Dioxide in Horizontal Tubes with Inner Diameter of 4.57 mm and 7.75 mm)

  • The evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ (R-744) in horizontal tubes was investigated experimentally. The experiments were conducted without oil in a closed refrigerant loop which was driven by a magnetic gear pump. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump, a mass flow meter, a pre-heater and evaporator (test section). The test section consists of a smooth, horizontal stainless steel tube of 7.75 and 4.57 mm inner diameter. The experiments were conducted at saturation temperature of $-5^{\circ}C\;to\;5^{\circ}C$, and heat flux of 10 to $40kW/m^2$. The test results showed the evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ are highly dependent on the vapor quality, heat flux and saturation temperature. The pressure drop measured during the evaporation process of $CO_2$ increases with increased mass flux, and decreases as the saturation temperature increased. The evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ is very lower than that of R-22. In comparison with test results and existing correlations, the best fit of the present experimental data is obtained with the correlation of Choi et al. But existing correlations failed to predict the evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$. Therefore, it is necessary to develop reliable and accurate predictions determining the evaporation pressure drop of $CO_2$ in a horizontal tube.

복강경 수술에서 기복제 이산화탄소의 37℃ 가온이 수술 중 체온, 수축기압 및 심박동수와 산염기 균형에 미치는 영향 (Effects of 37℃ Carbon Dioxide Pneumoperitoneum on Core Body Temperature, Systolic Blood Pressure, Heart Rate and Acid-Base Balance: A Randomized Double-blind Controlled Trial)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of $21^{\circ}C\;CO_2$ and $37^{\circ}C\;CO_2$ pneumoperitoneum on body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and acid-base balance. Methods: Data were collected at a 1300-bed university hospital in Incheon, from February through September 2012. A total of 74 patients who underwent laparoscopic colectomy under general anesthesia with desflurane were randomly allocated to either a control group or an experimental group. The control group received $21^{\circ}C\;CO_2$ pneumoperitoneum; the experimental group received $37^{\circ}C\;CO_2$ pneumoperitoneum. The pneumoperitoneum of the two groups was under abdominal pressure 15 mmHg. Body temperature, systolic blood pressure, heart rate and acid-base balance were assessed at 30 minutes and 90 minutes after pneumoperitoneum, and again at 30 minutes after arriving at the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Results: Body temperature in the $37^{\circ}C\;CO_2$ pneumoperitoneum group was significantly higher (F= 9.43, p< .001) compared to the $21^{\circ}C\;CO_2$ group. However, there were no statistically significant differences in systolic blood pressure (p= .895), heart rate (p= .340), pH (p= .231), PaCO2 (p= .490) and HCO3- (p= .768) between the two groups. Conclusion: Pneumoperitoneum of $37^{\circ}C\;CO_2$ is effective for the increase of body temperature compared to pneumoperitonium of $21^{\circ}C\;CO_2$, and it does not result in a decrease of blood pressure, heart rate or acid-base imbalance.
