  • One of the most important problems in automatic continuity theory is to solve the question of continuity of an algebra homomorphism from a Banach algebra into a semisimple Banach algebra with dense range. Many results on this subject are obtained imposing some conditions on the domains or the ranges of homomorphisms. For most recent results and references in automatic continuity theory one may refer to [1], [4] and [5]. In this note we study some properties of homomorphisms from $C^{*}$-algebras into Banach algebras. It is shown that the range of an isomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into a Banach algebra contains no non zero element of the radical of B. Using this result we show that the same holds for a continuous homomorphism, hence a Banach algebra which is the image of a $C^{*}$-algebra under a continuous homomorphism is necessarily semisimple. Thus if there is a homomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra onto a non-semisimple Banach algebra it must be discontinuous. Also it follows that every non zero homomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into a radical algebra is discontinuous. Then we make a brief observation on the behavior of quasinilpotent element of noncommutative $C^{*}$-algebras in relation with continuous homomorphisms.momorphisms.

  • Let $A_b(B_E)$ be the Banach algebra of all complex valued bounded continuous functions on the closed unit ball $B_E$ of a complex Banach space E, and holomorphic in the interior of $B_E$, endowed with the sup norm. We present some sufficient conditions for a set to be a boundary for $A_b(B_E)$ in case E belongs to a class of Banach spaces that includes the pre-dual of a Lorentz sequence space studied by Gowers in [6]. We also prove the non-existence of the Shilov boundary for $A_b(B_E)$ and give some examples of boundaries.

  • In this paper the left regular representation and the reduced $C^*$-algebra for a commutative separative semigroup is defined. The universal representation, the reduced $C^*$-algebra and the full $C^*$-algebra for the additive semigroup $N^+$ are given. Also it is proved that $C*_r(N^+){\ncong}C^*(N^+)$.

  • There are several types of orders in a Quaternion algebra. Generally, zeta functions defined on orders of a Quaternion algebra give some informations on the ideal theory of orders. In this study, we investigate functional equalities between the zeta functions defined on orders of a Quaternion algebra.

  • Let 𝓐 be a von Neumann algebra with no central summands of type I1. In this article, we study Lie n-derivation on von Neumann algebra and prove that every additive Lie n-derivation on a von Neumann algebra has standard form at zero product as well as at projection product.

  • The notion of a BCK-algebra with supremum (briefly, sBCK-algebra) is introduced, and several examples are given. Related properties are investigated. We show that every sBCK-algebra with an additional condition has the condition (S). The notion of a dry ideal of an sBCK-algebra is introduced. Conditions for an sBCK-algerba to be an spBCK-algebra are provided. We show that every sBCK-algebra satisfying additional condition is a semi-Brouwerian algebra.

  • Let B(X) denote the algebra of operators on a complex Banach space X, H(X) = {h ${\in}$ B(X) : h is hermitian}, and J(X) = {x ${\in}$ B(X) : x = $x_1$ + $ix_2$, $x_1$ and $x_2$ ${\in}$ H(X)}. Let ${\delta}_a$ ${\in}$ B(B(X)) denote the derivation ${\delta}_a$ = ax - xa. If J(X) is an algebra and ${\delta}_a^{-1}(0){\subseteq}{\delta}_{a^*}^{-1}(0)$ for some $a{\in}J(X)$, then ${\parallel}a{\parallel}{\leq}{\parallel}a-(x^*x-xx^*){\parallel}$ for all $x{\in}J(X){\cap}{\delta}_a^{-1}(0)$. The cases J(X) = B(H), the algebra of operators on a complex Hilbert space, and J(X) = $C_p$, the von Neumann-Schatten p-class, are considered.

  • Let A be a Hopf algebra with a linear form ${\sigma}:k{\rightarrow}A{\otimes}A$, which is convolution invertible, such that ${\sigma}_{21}({\Delta}{\otimes}id){\tau}({\sigma}(1))={\sigma}_{32}(id{\otimes}{\Delta}){\tau}({\sigma}(1))$. We define Hopf algebras, ($A_{\sigma}$, m, u, ${\Delta}_{\sigma}$, ${\varepsilon}$, $S_{\sigma}$). If B and C are opposite skew copaired Hopf algebras and $A=B{\otimes}_kC$ then we find Hopf algebras, ($A_{[{\sigma}]}$, $m_B{\otimes}m_C$, $u_B{\otimes}u_C$, ${\Delta}_{[{\sigma}]}$, ${\varepsilon}B{\otimes}{\varepsilon}_C$, $S_{[{\sigma}]}$). Let H be a finite dimensional commutative Hopf algebra with dual basis $\{h_i\}$ and $\{h_i^*\}$, and let $A=H^{op}{\otimes}H^*$. We show that if we define ${\sigma}:k{\rightarrow}H^{op}{\otimes}H^*$ by ${\sigma}(1)={\sum}h_i{\otimes}h_i^*$ then ($A_{[{\sigma}]}$, $m_A$, $u_A$, ${\Delta}_{[{\sigma}]}$, ${\varepsilon}_A$, $S_{[{\sigma}]}$) is the dual space of Drinfeld double, $D(H)^*$, as Hopf algebra.
