Effects of annealing temperatures on the electrical properties of Metal-Ferroelectric-Insulator-Semiconductor(MFIS)structures with various insulators

  • Temperature dependence of the ferroelectric properties of poly(vinylidefluoride-trifluoroethylene) copolymer thin films are studied with various insulators such as $SrTa_2O_6$ and $La_2O_3$. Thin films of poly(vinylidene fluoridetrifluoroethylene) 75/25 copolymer were prepared by chemical solution deposition on p-Si substrate. Capacitance-voltage (C-V) and current density (J-V) behavior of the Au/P(VDF-TrFE)/Insulator/p-Si structures were studied at ($150-200\;^{\circ}C$) and dielectric constant of the each insulators were measured to be about 15 at $850\;^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes. Memory window width at 5 V bias the MFIS(metal-ferroelectric-insulator-semiconductor) structure with as deposited films was about 0.5 V at high temperature ($200\;^{\circ}C$). And the memory window width increased as voltage increased from 1 V to 5 V.

The Piezoelectric Properties of (Na0.5K0.5)NbO3-K5.4Cu1.3Ta10O29 Ceramics with Various K5.4Cu1.3Ta10O29 Doping and Sintering Temperatures

  • (1-X)$(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-XK_{5.4}Cu_{1.3}Ta_{10}O_{29}$ (NKN-KCT) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been synthesized by the conventional solid state sintering method, and their sinterability and piezoelectric properties were investigated. Typically, this material is sintered between 1,025 and $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours to achieve the required densification. Crystalline structures and Microstructures were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. The density, dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_r$), piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$, electromechanical coupling factor $k_p$ and mechanical quality factor $Q_m$ value of the NKN ceramics depended upon the KCT content and the sintering temperature. In particular, the KCT addition to NKN greatly improved the mechanical quality factor $Q_m$ value. The ceramic with X = 1.0 mol% sintered at $1,050^{\circ}C$ exhibited optimum properties (${\varepsilon}_r$=246, $d_{33}$=95, $k_p$=0.38 and $Q_m$=1,826). These results indicate that the ceramic is a promising candidate material for applications in lead free piezoelectric transformer and filter materials.

  • This research addresses the improvement of tribo-systems, specifically regarding the reduction of friction and wear through tribo-coupling between tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) with different types of counterpart materials, namely bearing steel (SUJ2), tungsten carbide (WC), stainless steel (SUS304), and alumina ($Al_2O_3$). A second variable in this project is the utilization of different values of duct bias voltage in the deposition of the ta-C coating - 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 V. The results of this research are expected to determine the optimum duct bias and best counter materials associated with ta-C to produce the lowest friction and wear. Results obtained reveal that the tribo-couple between the ta-C coating and SUJ2 balls produces the lowest friction coefficient and wear rate. In terms of duct bias changes, deposition using 5 V produces the most optimum tribological behavior with lowest friction and wear on the tribo-system. In contrast, the tribo-couple between ta-C with a WC ball causes penetration through the coating surface layer and hence high surface delamination. This study demonstrates that the most effective ta-C coating duct bias is 5 V associated with SUJ2 counter material to produce the lowest friction and wear.

  • In this paper, the SH mode of elastic surface waves which are used for delay lines of elastic surface wave is the cretically analysed. It is shown that the SH mode has very large electromechanical coupling factor and propagates on the surface with very small decaying coefficient into the medium. In the case of P2T-4, the depth cf piezoelectric medium that contains 80% of energy is 190 wavelengths. An elastic surface wave delay line is discussed from the view point of 2-port network. Center frequency is shifted by the ratio of transducer electrode width to gap between transducer ellcerodes when electromechanical coupling factor is large. Tempera _ore coefficients for bulk waves of LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 are also calculated and the minimum temperature coefficient value of delay time is 5.4X 10-6/$^{\circ}C$ ia the case of transverse wave propagating along Z axis on LiTaO3. Experimental data are in good agreement with theoretical values of the temperature coefficients of delay time for elastic surface waves propagating along X axis of 130$^{\circ}$ and 64$^{\circ}$ rotated Y cut planes of the LiNbO3.

  • In this paper, we investigated the etching characteristics of the TaN thin films and the surface reaction of TaN thin films after etching process. The etching characteristics of the TaN thin films were carried out using inductively coupled plasma (ICP). The etch rate and the selectivity of TaN to $SiO_2$ and TaN to PR were measured by varying the gas mixing ratio, RF power, DC-bias voltage, and process pressure in CF-based plasma. The surface reaction of TaN thin films were determined by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

  • Ferrule function have connect Optical Communication Cable. But Ferrule have important role that is decided transmission efficiency and information quality. Key-point of detailed drawing of ferrule is Anti-Reflection. In the study Broadband Anti-Reflection coating Film was design for ferrule of optical connector and deposited in low temperature by Ion-Assisted Deposition system. Optical thin film materials($Ta_2O_5$, $SiO_2$) were manufactured Index and Film thickness. $Ta_2O_5$ index is 2.123 ~ 2.125 and $SiO_2$ is 1.44 ~ 1.442. Reflection Loss of film deposited on Ferrule is 30.1[dB].

  • Polycrystalline $Sr_{2}(Ta_{1-x}Nbx)_{2}O_{7}$ and $La_{2}Ti_{2}O_{7}$ ceramics having very high Curie temperatures were synthesized by the conventional oxide mixing method (CON) and the molten salt synthesis method (MSS). Physical characteristics and phase relationship of calcined powders, as well as the sintering behavior, the grain-orientation and dielectric properties of sintered ceramics were investigated as a function of composition and firing temperature. The single $A_{2}B_{2}O_{7}$ phase was synthesized by using the MSS method at 100 - $150^{\circ}C$ lower temperature compared to the CON method. As Nb content increased in $Sr_{2}(Ta_{1-x}Nbx)_{2}O_{7}$ ceramics, the Curie temperature and the dielectric constant at Curie temperature were raised, and the sintering behavior and the degree of grain-orientation were also improved at the same time. The use of MSS-derived powders made it possible to lower the sintering temperature and to improve the dielectric properties of the sintering samples. However, the piezoelectric properties as well as the grain-orientation were not improved any further by the MSS route.
