$\Sigma=5(210)$ 결정립계를 포함한 구리 bicrystal 모재상 스크래칭에 관한 분자역학모사 (Molecular dynamics simulation of scratching a Cu bicrystal across a $\Sigma=5(210)$ grain boundary)

  • Molecular Dynamics(MD) method was used to investigate the change of friction force due to interaction between dislocations and a grain boundary when a Ni tip was scratched on a Cu bicrystal. The substrate comprised a Cu bicrystal containing a vertical$\Sigma=5(210)$ grain boundary. The moving tip for scratching simulation was consisted of fixed Ni atoms emulating a rigid tip. The indentation depth was $3.6\AA$ and the scratching was performed along <110>direction in the first grain. As the scratching was continued, nucleation and propagation of dislocations were observed. In the early stage, the grain boundary played as a barrier to moving dislocations and interrupting further dislocation movement with no dislocation resulting in no propagation across the grain boundary. As the Ni tip approached the grain boundary, dislocations were nucleated at the grain boundary and propagated to the second grain. However, stick-slip phenomena that were observed on a single crystal scratching were not observed in the bicrystal. And, instead, irregular oscillation of friction force was observed during the scratching due to the presence of a grain boundary.

SOLUTIONS TO M-POINT BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS OF THIRD ORDER ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS AT RESONANCE

  • In this paper, we study the third order ordinary differential equation : $$x'(t)=f(t,x(t),x'(t),x'(t)),t{\in}(0,1)$$ subject to the boundary value conditions: $$x'(0)=x'(\xi),x'(1)=^{m-3}{\Sigma}_{i=1}{{\beta}x'({\eta}i),x'(1)=0}$$. Here ${\beta}_{i}{\in}R,\;^{m-3}{\Sigma}_{i=1}\;{\beta}_{i}\;=\;1,\;0<{\eta}_1<{\eta}_2<{\cdots}<{\eta}_{m-3}<1,\;0<\xi<1$. This is the case dimKer L = 2. When the ${\beta}_i$ have different signs, we prove some existence results for the m-point boundary value problem at resonance by use of the coincidence degree theory of Mawhin [12, 13]. Since all the existence results obtained in previous papers are for the case dimKerL = 1, our work is new.

대기 경계층 연직방향 확산의 지면 거칠기에 따른 변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Variation of Vertical Dispersion within Boundary Layer with Surface Roughness)

  • An experimental study has been carried out using a rotating water channel in order to investigate the effect of surface roughness on the vertical dispersion of plume within boundary layer. Dispersion measurements of tracers released from two sources with different height at neutral conditions over various rough terrain ranging from rural to urban have been performed. Various values of roughness length were simulated by combining of 4 stream velocities and 3 roughness element conditions. Dispersion measurements have also been made for rough terrain where high buildings are locally concentrated. Values of $\sigma$z increase with roughness and this tendency appears to apply both cases of with and without locally concentrated high buildings. The comparisons of the Bowne's nomogram on $\sigma$2 vs x relationship and the measurements of $\sigma$2 with roughness show good accordance in $\sigma$2 distribution at stability D class over rural, suburban and urban terrain. For constant roughness length the $\sigma$2 values of plumes from lower source height are smaller than those of plumes from higher source at short downwind distance, but this relationship becomes reverse as distance increases. Crossing appears to be made before about 2km. The value of constant I in McMullen's equation $\sigma$2=exp [I+J(In x) + K(In x)2] appears to increase with roughness length, however, the relationships between other constants and roughness have been confirmed. The values of $\sigma$2 for various downwind distances, estimated by using an equation which is employed in ISC (Industrial Source Complex) dispersion model for areas where high buildings are locally assembled, are in accordance with measurements from water channel experiments.

This paper is concerned with the following m-point boundary value problem: $\chi$″(t)+a(t) (t.$\chi$(t))=0,t ${\in}$(0,1), $\chi$'(0)=$\Sigma_{i=1}$ $^{m-2}$ /$b_{i}$$\chi$'(${\xi}_{i}$),$\chi$(1)=$\Sigma_{i=1}$$^{m-2}$$a_{i}$$\chi$(${\xi}_{i}$). The existence, multiplicity and uniqueness of positive solutions of this problem are discussed with the help of two fixed point theorems in cones, respectively.

과공정 Al-Si 합금의 미세조직에 영향을 미치는 Sr의 영향 (The Effect of Sr on the Microstructures of Hypereutectic Al-Si Alloys)

  • Sr, added in the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys, is absorbed on the surfaces of primary Si as well as eutectic Si, and can change the growth mode of primary Si from non-faceted to faceted mode, as the amount of Sr increases larger than 0.04 wt.%, even though it cannot affect the grain size of primary Si, significantly. The EBSD analysis shows that the traction of ${\Sigma}3$ boundary(twin boundary) increases as the amount of Sr in the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys increase until the over-modification occurs at 1.6 wt.%Sr and proves that the change in growth mode of primary Si results from the change of TPRE growth to IIT growth.

이방성 결정립 계면에너지의 2차원 결정립 성장에 미치는 효과에 대한 컴퓨터 모사 (Computer simulation of the effects of anisotropic grain boundary energy on grain growth in 2-D)

  • 결정립 성장은 여러 가지 재료의 성질에 미치는 큰 영향으로 재료공학에서 매우 중요하다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 PC에서 대규모 상장 모델을 사용하여 이방성 결정립 계면에너지의 2차원 결정립 성장에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 컴퓨터 모사에서는 $2000{\times}2000$의 그리드 시스템과 약 7300개의 초기 결정립 개수가 사용되었다. 결정립계 에너지의 이방성의 비, ${\sigma}_{max}/{\sigma}_{min}$는 1부터 3까지 변경되었다. 이방성이 증가함에 따라 결정립 성장 지수, n은 2.05에서 2.37로 증가하였다. 결정립 크기의 분포는 등방성인 경우에는 중앙에 평탄한 영역을 보였으나 이방성의 경우에는 중앙의 평탄한 영역이 사라지고 매우 느리게 사라지는 작은 결정립에 기인하여 작은 결정립 크기의 분포가 약간 증가하였다. 마지막으로 모사된 결정립 미세구조가 이방성에 따라 비교, 분석되었다.

  • This study includes thermal plasticity analyses for a turbine rotor with the simple geometry and the boundary conditions. When centrifugal or thermal stress are applied at the high temperature material of engine blade, stress distributions I material ($\sigma$${\gamma}$${\gamma}$, $\sigma$$\theta$$\theta$, $\tau$${\gamma}$$\theta$, Mises stress) are analyzed by computer simulation(ABQUS) as followings; 1. The maximum stress at the radial direction() is applied at the upper middle part of spline hole. 2. The maximum stress at the tangential direction() is applied at the upper right boundary of spline hole. 3. The maximum shear stress () in () direction is applied at the upper middle part of spline hole. 4. The maximum Mises stress is applied at the upper right boundary of spline hole. This stress is due to the critical stress by which rotor can be fractured according to elapsed time.

RIGIDITY OF PROPER HOLOMORPHIC MAPS FROM Bn+1 TO B3n-1

  • Let $B^{n+1}$ be the unit ball in the complex vector space $\mathbb{C}^{n+1}$ with the standard Hermitian metric. Let ${\Sigma}^n={\partial}B^{n+1}=S^{2n+1}$ be the boundary sphere with the induced CR structure. Let f : ${\Sigma}^n{\hookrightarrow}{\Sigma}^N$ be a local CR immersion. If N < 3n - 1, the asymptotic vectors of the CR second fundamental form of f at each point form a subspace of the CR(horizontal) tangent space of ${\Sigma}^n$ of codimension at most 1. We study the higher order derivatives of this relation, and we show that a linearly full local CR immersion f : ${\Sigma}^n{\hookrightarrow}{\Sigma}^N$, N $\leq$ 3n-2, can only occur when N = n, 2n, or 2n + 1. As a consequence, it gives an extension of the classification of the rational proper holomorphic maps from $B^{n+1}$ to $B^{2n+2}$ by Hamada to the classification of the rational proper holomorphic maps from $B^{n+1}$ to $B^{3n+1}$.

부분적(部分的)인 균일전단하중(均一傳達荷重)을 받는 평판(平板)에서의 응력분포(應力分布) (Stress Distributions in a Plate due to Shear Loading Uniformly Distributed on the End Portions of its Side Boundary.)

  • The plate under shear loading umformly distributed on the end portions of its side boundary was considered. Infinite hyperbolic serieses and Fourier serieses were combined as a stress function and from which exact solutions for the 15 cases for the parameters of b/L=0.25, 0.5, 1.0 and l/L=0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 are obtained. In each cases the first 5 terms of the infinite series at the 36 points as shown in Fig. 3. The results are presented in Fig. 4-1, 4-2, and 4-3. The conclusions are as follows: 1) The stresses ${\sigma}_x$ increase very slightly as $\chi$ increases in the range of 0<x<L-l 2) When the parameters satisfy the conditions b/L<0.25 and l/L<0.2, the stresses in the region of 0<x<L-l can be obtained by replacing the uniform shear loading by the equivalent uniform shear loading by the equivalent uniform tensile force and pure bending moment at x=l. 3) The stress ${\sigma}_y$ is negligible throughout the region. 4) When the parameter b/L varies, the stresses ${\sigma}_x$ and u vary as L/b, while strain $\upsilon$ varies as $(L/b)^2$.
