This paper is concerned with the experiments on the active vibration control of a plate with piezoceramic sensors and actuators. The natural frequencies of the composite plate featured by a piezo-film sensor and piezo-ceramic actuator are calculated by using the modal analysis method. Modal coordinates are introduced to obtain the state equations of the structural system. Six natural frequencies were considered in the modelling, because robust control theory which has inherent robustness to structured uncertainty is adopted to suppress the transients vibrations of a glass fiber reinforced(GFR) composite beam. A robust controller satisfying the nominal performance and robust performance is designed using robust theory based on the structured singular value. Simulations were carried out with the designed controller and effectiveness of the robust control strategy was verified by results.
We have proposed an application of disturbance observer with PID controller to minimize gain-transient time of wavelength-division-multiplexing(WDM) multi channels in optical amplifier in channel add/drop networks. We have dramatically reduced the gain-transient time to less than $3{\mu}sec$ by applying a disturbance observer with a proportional/integral/ differential(PID) controller to the control of amplifier gain. The theoretical analysis on the 3-level erbium-doped fiber laser and the disturbance observer technique is demonstrated by performing the simulation with co-simulation of the $MATLAB^{TM}$ and a numerical modeling software package such as the $Optsim^{TM}$.
Teleoperation is the extension of a person's sensing and manipulation capability to a remote location. Teleoperators generally can be modeled as linear transfer function indecently including modeling uncertainty. Modeling uncertainties can make the system unstable and its performance poor. Thus I'm studying about a design framework for a bilateral controller of teleoperator systems with modeling uncertainties. In this paper, a method based on the H$_{\infty}$-optimal control and .mu.-synthesis frameworks are introduced to design a controller for the teleoperator that achieves stability and performance in the presence of the modeling uncertainties..ties.inties.
In the distributed control systems where the control components, controllers and sensors are distributed on a communications network, there exist network time delays on communication lines between the system components. This paper deals with the ramp tracking controller design issue for such systems. Time delay terms are converted into the rational terms using Pade approximation method and the system is augmented with two integrators for ramp tracking. For this system, ${\mu}$-controller design method, which enables to meet not only performance requirements but robust stabilities simultaneously, is employed.
This disseration realized the simple digital controller board using ${\mu}$-PD 70320 microprocessor has characteristics that are low cost, simple hardware organization, convenient and interchangeable with the 8086 for the servo system. We gave the control algorithm such as PD control. Self tuning adaptive control and Fuzzy control to the realized controller board and made a new real number data type for a high accuracy control. Users can select of suitable for the control algorithim. In the result of simulation and experiment shown a good performance.

Conventional linear control fails to provide precise positioning of a control object under the influence of friction, deadzone, saturation, etc. This paper proposes a high-precision control scheme for a precise point-to-point positioning system, called an X-Y table, even under the same influences above. The proposed scheme is composed of a fuzzy precompensator and a PD controller. The fuzzy precompensator is employed to improve the performance of the PD controller. Its fuzzy rules are obtained from experimental evolutionary programming (EP), not from an expert. The effectiveness of the scheme is demonstrated by experiments on the X-Y table. with a positioning error of within 1$\mu\textrm{m}$.
This paper presents the vibration control of a flexible intelligent beam with added mass. The materials which is a glass fiber reinforced(GFR) thermoplastic composite is employed to achieve vibration characteristics according to added mass induced end of composite beam. In the experiments of forced vibration control, the -controller are employed to achieve vibration suppression in forced vibration situations. Also, in the controller design, 1st and 2nd´s natural frequencies are considered in the modeling, because robust control theory which has robustness to structured uncertainty is adopted to suppress the vibration. By designing a controller using mu-synthesis, robust performance against measurement noise, various modeling.

The objective of this paper is to present a method for designing robust positioning control systems of a flexible arm using $H_2/H_{\infty}$ and $\mu$ theory. We begin with a description of the flexible arm based on the model identification method and discuss the derivation of the model uncertainty. The validity of the obtained model is confirmed experimentally Next, a robust controller is designed based on the $H_2/H_{\infty}$ and $\mu$ theory by which we can improve robustness of the entire system. On this occasion, we also propose a general plant formation suitable to $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed design method is verified through experimentation.
This paper addresses two interrelated problems concerning the tracking control of pod propulsion unmanned surface vessel (USV), namely, the modeling of pod propulsion USV, and tracking controller design. First, based on MMG modeling theory, the model of pod propulsion USV is derived. Furthermore, a practical adaptive neural tracking controller is proposed by backstepping technique, neural network approximation and adaptive method. Meanwhile, unlike some existing tracking methods for surface vessel whose control algorithms suffer from "explosion of complexity", a novel neural shunting model is introduced to solve the problem. Using a Lyapunov functional, it is proven that all error signals in the system are uniformly ultimately bounded. The advantages of the paper are that first, the underactuated characteristic of pod propulsion USV is proved; second, the neural shunting model is used to solve the problem of "explosion of complexity", and this is a combination of knowledge in the field of biology and engineering; third, the developed controller is able to capture the uncertainties without the exact information of hydrodynamic damping structure and the sea disturbances. Numerical examples have been given to illustrate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
As the demand for higher data-rate chip-to-chip communication such as memory-to-controller, processor-to-processor increases, low cost high-speed serial links\ulcorner become more attractive. This paper describes a 0.25-fm CMOS 1.6Gbps/pin 4-level transceiver using Stub Series Terminated Logic for high Bandwidth. For multi-gigabit/second application, the data rate is limited by Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) caused by channel low pass effects, process-limited on-chip clock frequency, and serial link distance. The proposed transceiver uses multi-level signaling (4-level Pulse Amplitude Modulation) using push-pull type, double data rate and flash sampling. To reduce Process-Voltage-Temperature Variation and ISI including data dependency skew, the proposed high-speed calibration circuits with voltage swing controller, data linearity controller and slew rate controller maintains desirable output waveform and makes less sensitive output. In order to detect successfully the transmitted 1.6Gbps/pin 4-level data, the receiver is designed as simultaneous type with a kick - back noise-isolated reference voltage line structure and a 3-stage Gate-Isolated sense amplifier. The transceiver, which was fabricated using a 0.25 fm CMOS process, performs data rate of 1.6 ~ 2.0 Gbps/pin with a 400MHB internal clock, Stub Series Terminated Logic ever in 2.25 ~ 2.75V supply voltage. and occupied 500 * 6001m of area.
