Calculation of the Characteristic Impedance of Transmission Lines with Periodic Structures (주기구조가 결합된 전송선로의 특성 임피던스 계산)

  • This paper describes the calculation for characteristic impedance of transmission line with periodic structures such as defected ground structure (DGS) and photonic bandgap (PBG). The previous method which uses the ${\lambda}$/4 transmission line model is reviewed and its disadvantage that the calculated characteristic impedance is strongly dependent on the frequency is discussed. The characteristic impedance of transmission lines with periodic structures are calculated using the ${\lambda}$/4 transmission line model and analytic method. The calculated characteristic impedance by the latter method is an almost constant value while that from the first method depends on the frequency strongly. In addition, the characteristic impedance of the transmission line with PBG is calculated and proposed, while it has been rarely studied ever. S-parameters are obtained from the measurement using the fabricated sample as well as simulation, and used for calculating the characteristic impedances and comparison. The characteristic impedances calculated from the measured S-parameters agree well with the simulated results. It is well described that the analytic method to calculate the characteristic impedance of transmission lines on uniform dielectric structures can be applied successfully to the transmission lines with periodic structures such as DGS and PBG.

Analysis of Rainfall Effect on the GIUH Characteristic Velocity (GIUH 특성속도에 대한 강우의 영향 분석)

  • This study analyzed several storm events observed in the Seolma-chun basin to derive the characteristic velocity of GIUH (Geomophological Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph) as well as its variability. Especially, this study focused on the variation of characteristic velocity due to the change of rainfall characteristics. The IUH of the Seolma-chun basin was derived using the HEC-1, whose peak discharge and time were then compared with those of the GIUH to derive the characteristic velocities. The characteristics velocities were analyzed by comparing with the GcIUH (Geomorphoclimatic IUH) as well as the characteristics of rainfall. Results are summarized as follows. (1) The characteristic velocity of GIUH was estimated higher with higher variability than the GcIUH, but their trends were found similar (2) Total amount of effective rainfall (or, mean effective rainfall) well explains the characteristic velocity of GIUH. This could be assured by the regression analysis, whose coefficient of determination was estimated about 0.6. (3) The duration and the maximum intensity of rainfall were found not to affect significantly on the characteristic velocity of GIUH. The coefficients of determination were estimated less than 0.3 for all cases considered. (4) For the rainfall events used in this study, the characteristic velocities of GIUH were found to follow the Gaussian distribution with its mean and the standard deviation 0.402 m/s and 0.173 m/s, respectively. Most of the values are within the range of 0.4∼0.5 m/s, and its coefficient of variation was estimated to be 0.43, much less than that of the runoff itself (about 1.0).

  • This paper presents Continuous-current mode of $S^4$-PFC(Single-Stage Single-switch Power Factor Correction) converter. Proposed converter operates in the continueous current mode(CCM) at full load and discontinuous current mode(DCM) at light load. So, characteristic of proposed converter is no bus voltage stress and Zero Voltage Switching(ZVS) using resonant auxiliary circuit. And. This paper presents characteristic of $S^4$-PFC converter and effect of circuit parameter of proposed converter through the input inductor, PFC capacitor's variation. All of these theory and characteristic verified through the experiment with a 72W(12V, 6A), $90^{kHz}$ prototype converter.

Gernreich break sexual prejudice and release women freely, furthermore, as he express concern of sexuality pursuit liberty of mankind surpassing sex distinction with women liberty. Gianni Versace pursuit mix and extinguishment of sexual image many-sided, and break fixed idea of sex, and reprovide feminine and masculine image. So his design tend homosexuality because he regard women's glamor and ostensible sexuality as standard of beauty, he apply this to man's wear as well as women's wear. With this, he expresses sensitive and liberal man's that break characteristic of Gender that symbolize power and authority in man's wear through 'Without ties'.

Characteristic Values of Design Parameters for Geotechnical Reliability Design (지반신뢰성 설계를 위한 설계변수의 특성치 연구)

  • Geotechnical characteristic values for reliability-based design were analyzed using domestic marine clays. Analysis results indicate that there were close to mean values in oder of Student/Ovesen, Schneider and EN 1990's approach. However, it was found that the EN 1990's approach is inappropriate far estimating geotechnical characteristic value due to low reliability of estimation results. Four approaches had a trend of evaluating characteristic value conservatively with increasing of soil variability. Also, stability and settlement of breakwater subjected to nominal stress with unimproved soft grounds were computed to investigate the effects of estimated characteristic values. In case of using the Schneider's approach, the ratio of allowable bearing capacity/acting loads suggested 65% of that obtained from using the arithmetic mean approach, and showed underestimated value of 13.6% of the settlement obtained from the latter. The comparison of case designs using a representative value from arithmetic mean approach with the proposed approaches, using characteristic value showed that the former was mostly overestimated.

  • The rapid diffusion of using internet and technical development becomes a driving force creating and developing the industries based on internet and made up an electronic commerce market which is a new form of business market. The object of this study is the business form between the consumer and the enterprise having a rapid growth nowadays. We classified enterprises' characteristic factors in internet shopping mall into product's characteristic factors on shopping mall, characteristic factors of the system on shopping mall and characteristic factors of the interaction between customers and shopping mall in the internet shopping mall. And then we investigated how these classified characteristic factors on shopping mall could influence on customer loyalty.

  • In contemporary fashion metal have used which is as the material with a sufficient potentiality of expression which is displayed by an unique characteristic involved only in metal. In this paper metal expressed in contemporary fashion is researched. The first thing the formative characteristic of metal is researched under the consideration of type technique and color of metal used in contemporary fashion. Metals such as gold silver bronze aluminum thin lead and iron are usually used in fashion and those metals are used in various types such a thread fabric board leaf a and cable. Those types of metal as above are applied to the clothing by the techniques of weaving embroidering metal leaf printing or moulding which gives the formative characteristic to the clothing. In color metal has an effect on the colors of surroundings by its smooth and unique luster and its effect of reflection and produces the visual formative characteristic through the effects of contrast. The esthetic will of metal expressed in modern fashion is researched in this study under the facts studied as above. first metal expresses the future oriented esthetic Second metal has the characteristic of attracting the attention Third metal is used as valid techniques to express the artistic formation for clothing escaping from the idea that the clothing is only for wearing. Finally metal is used as an anti-cultural tool of fighting against the existing order or spirit.

Performance evaluation on characteristic length variation of $H_2O_2$/Kerosene bipropellant rocket engine (특성길이 변화에 따른 $H_2O_2$/Kerosene 이원추진제 로켓 엔진의 성능평가)

  • In addition to the previous study for development of a 1,200 N-class bipropellant rocket engine with concentrated hydrogen peroxide, the effect of characteristic length and thrust measurement were experimentally evaluated. Tests with characteristic lengths of 0.95, 1.07, and 1.20 m were performed and $C^*$ and Isp efficiencies were increased as increasing characteristic length. The maximum $C^*$ and Isp efficiencies were 98.4% and 93.1% respectively. Based on the evaluation of the designed engine, the optimized characteristic length was proposed in using the engine adapted decomposed hydrogen peroxide and the engine performance at vacuum-level was evaluated using thrust and Isp efficiency at the designed equivalence ratio. As a result, 218.4 s at sea-level, 253.3 s at vacuum-level, and vacuum thrust of 1035.3 N can be estimated.

  • The sensitivity of Nash model parameters is analyzed about characteristic velocities considering geomorphological dispersion in the present study. And changing shape of IUH compared and analyzed as variation of characteristic velocities through numerical experiment. Application watersheds are selected 4 subwatersheds which are located at main stream of Bocheong basin. The mean and variance of hillslope and stream path length are estimated in each watershed with GIS. And Nash model parameters are estimated with moments of path lengths and characteristic velocities. The changing trend about IUH which is derived Nash model parameters are compared as variation of characteristic velocities. The Major results of this study are summarized as follows. The Nash model parameters sensitively present changes about hillslope characteristic velocity. And the effect of the peak discharge and shape of recession in IUH dominate with hillslope's characteristic velocity, the effect of the peak time and shape of ascension in IUH dominate with channel's characteristic velocity.
