『상한론(傷寒論) 오수유탕(吳茱萸湯)의 임상연구 분석 (A Review Study on the researches of Osuyu-tang)

  • Objectives : Osuyu-tang of Shanghanlun have historically been proved for clinical validity and stability in the Korean Medicine. It is necessary to review the clinical fields of application, and to review the conformity with the old texts. Methods : As of October 20, 2022, clinical research papers on Osuyu-tang were searched in RISS, Naver, KISS, PUBMED, and Science Direct. The searched articles were classified by clinical subject, and the contents were reviewed by year. Results : As of Oct 20, 2022, the present study looked up thirteen papers. The 13 clinical research papers could be classified into 6 chronic headaches which includes migraine, 2 digestive diseases, 5 skin diseases and 1 restless leg syndrome by subject. Conclusion : As a result of analyzing 13 papers, clinical research achievements on the nervous system and digestive system diseases implied by the provisions in Shanghanlun were accumulating. However, case-level reports on skin diseases require more advanced research in the future.

  • Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease associated with cutaneous hyperreactivity to environmental triggers. The clinical phenotype that characterizes AD is the product of interactions between susceptible genes, the environmental factors, defective skin barrier function, and immunologic responses. This review summarizes recent progress in our understanding of the immunopathophysiology of AD and the implications for mouse models of AD in drug discovery from medicinal plants.

COVID-19로 악화된 피부과 질환 환자의 한의 치료 2례에 대한 증례보고 (Two Treatment Cases of Combined Korean Medicine for Patients with Dermatological Diseases Exacerbated by COVID-19)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effect of herbal medicine decoction on COVID-19 symptoms remaining after administering Western medicine and worsening eczema during the COVID-19 prevalence period in patients with chronic eczema. Methods : The two chronic eczema patients suffering from COVID-19 symptoms and worsening eczema received a series of herbal medicine decoction for treatment. The effectiveness of treatment was evaluated by VAS, NRS, EASI, PASI, DLQI, photography and subjective evaluation of the patient's improvement of symptoms. Results : After treatment, all symptoms of COVID-19 disappered and aggravated eczema lesions were remarkably improved in both cases. Compared to its peak, the first case shows that PASI improved by 88% and DLQI by 44%. According to photo and symptom changes, the size of the affected area of facial acne and lip eczema was decreased. The second case shows that EASI improved by 43% and DLQI by 65%. According to photo and symptom changes, redness, rash were stopped and pruritus was decreased. Conclusion : This study suggests that herbal medicine could induce effectiveness on both COVID-19 symptoms as well as chronic eczema.

임신오조 2례에 대한 임상적 고찰 (Clinical study of the two cases of the Hyperemesis)

  • Background: We had treatment for two cases of Hyperemesis Gravidarum . they had difficulty in taking herbal medcine(Gamibosengtang), because of bitter taste and increased nausea and vomiting. So We used acupuncture treatment for increasing of taking herbal medicine and reduction of nausea and vomiting. Methods: The patients estimated their dgree of chief complain on a visual analogue scale and change of oral intake and change of frequency of vomiting. Result: Herbal treatment andacupuncture treatment was efficacious for Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Conclusion: More study fo herbal medicine is needed because of bitter taste.

임상한의사 처방의 약물 배합 빈도 분석 (Analysis of Herbal combination frequence on Clicical Herbal formulation)

  • Objectives : Since its enactment in 1987, the 56 standard prescriptions covered by insurance have remained unchanged from its original version. In this study, we tried to discover most frequently used herbal combinations by analyzing prescriptions used in actual clinical settings. Methods : We have built Structured Query Language to analyze herbal combination and progressed this analysis through analyzing the frequencies of medicinal herb combinations in medical prescription slips. Results : We have found out that traditional Korean medical doctors use about 13 herbs in a prescriptions and usually use 253 kinds of herb. And We have found out the most frequently used herbal combination. Conclusions : In this study, We can suggest new method to decide what do we need on insurance prescriptions.

가미보허탕(加味補虛湯)으로 치료한 산후우울증 1예에 대한 임상보고 (A Clinical Study on the Postpartum Depression Treated by Gami-Boheo-tang)

  • As woman receive many stress during pregnancy and delivery, they happen to contract to psychopathy like a postpartum depression. Postpartum depression is a serious problem if they are not treated early enough the unhappy seriousness can be resulted. A 32-yeared-old female patient with postpartum depression was taken to Dongshin University oriental medical hospital on April, 28, 2003. We diagnosed this patient as postpartum depression, which originated from and efficiency of vital energy and blood. We treated this postpartum depression patient with herb medicine(Cami-Boheo-tang),acupuncture, moxibustion, and psychical therapy. After the oriental medical treatments, the patient was improved in all complains of the postpartum disease. After this, further study and approach will be needed about the disease of the postpartum depression.

조등산(釣藤散)의 약리학적(藥理學的) 고찰(考察) (A review on pharmacological properties of Jodeungsan)

  • The span of life of human beings has lengthened because of medical progress and so on. Consequently, the old have begun to remark that quality of life (QOL) is as important as extension of the life expectancy. However, some diseases such as stroke, cancer induce decrease of QOL. In case of the stroke, it is followed by chronic headache and dementia as an aftereffect, causing serious decrease of QOL. Jodeungsan, traditional medicine, have been prescribed for headache and hypertension. Many clinical trials and laboratory experiments about pharmacological effects of Jodeungsan have been reported. Jodeungsan ameliorated chronic headache and improved recognitive deficit. Moreover, Jodeungsan lowered blood pressure in hypertensive condition which is one of a major cause of stroke. These effects of Jodeungsan on several diseases are partly attributed to antioxidant effect. This report reviews the pharmacological effect of Jodeungsan in the view of stroke-related diseases.

공황장애를 동반한 산후풍 환자 치험 1례 (A case report of postpartum patient with panic disorder)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatments for the postpartum patient who is diagnosed as panic disorder. Methods : The patient had been in admitted to Dongshin Oriental Hospital from 2004. 10. 28 to 2004. 11. 27 This patient was treated with oriental methods such as herb medication, acupuncture, moxibustion therapy etc. Results : As a result of oriental treatments based on planing treatment according to diagnosis, the symptom of postpartum disease with panic disorder was improved. Conclusion : It is thought that the clinical study about the treatment of the postpartum disease with panic disorder based on planing treatment according to diagnosis, should be required.

  • Women with moderate weight loss have secondary or primary amenorrhea. The amenorrhea. which is usually reversible with weight gain, decreased exercise. or both, is due to hypothalamic dysfunction. But 30% of amenorrheic women with weight gain is irreversible. Recently we experienced one case of secondary amenorrhea with severe weight loss, as oriental medicine treatment secondary amenorrhea is cured, so report a medical treatment course and result.

배암차즈기의 투여가 고형암환자에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위한 선행적 인체적용시험 (Effect of Salvia plebeia Extract on Patients with Solid Cancer: A Preliminary Clinical Trial Protocol)

  • Objective : The purpose of this trial is to observe the preliminary effects of Salvia plebeia (SP) extract on quality of life in patients with solid cancer. Methods : This is a prospective, open-label, single-arm, and single-dose clinical trial. Twenty participants who have been diagnosed with solid cancer between the ages of 20 and 65 will be included. All participants will be administered SP granules for 12 weeks. Data will be collected at 4, 8, and 12 weeks after enrollment. The primary outcome is quality of life, using the Korean version of the Functional Assessment Cancer Therapy-General questionnaire. Secondary outcomes include tumor markers in blood tests for each cancer type, soluble programmed death-ligand 1, the percentage of natural killer cells among lymphocytes, ratio of T-helper and T-suppressor cells, ratio of total T, T-helper, T-suppressor, and B cells in lymphocytes, level of C-reactive protein, and tumor size via radiology examination. Safety will be assessed by clinical laboratory tests and monitoring of adverse events. Discussion : This study aims to observe the effects of an oral administration of SP preparations in patients with solid cancer on changes in quality of life and an improvement in immune function. It is expected to provide objective evidence of the effect and safety of SP for patients with solid cancer. Trial registration: KCT0007315 (Clinical Research Information Service)
