In order to investigate the distribution of paralytic shellfish poison, we examined the toxicity during from February to October in 2000. Of 591 shellfish samples,
$17(2.88\%)$ samples were detected. Scapgarca broughtonii was highest collected$14.29\%(2/14)$ . In the monthly detection rate of PSP, April was highest$13.3\%(8/60)$ , in the regional collecting rate, Cheon-nam coastal area was highest$3.82\%(10/262)$ , and in cases of imported area, China was$8.3\%(1/12)$ . Imported area as well as domestic area samples should be strengthen to examine enduringly. -

This study was carried out to monitor suspected endocrine disrupting pesticides and industrial organic chemicals among circulated agricultural products in the north area of Seoul in 2001. Procymidone, vinclozolin, endosulfan, chlorothalonil, chloropyrifos and pendimetaline (pesticides) and butylated hydroxytoluene(industrial organic chemicals) were certified by GC-MS. Detected 6 pesticides were remained mostly in the green vegetables, spices and wild plants with
$3\%$ detected. Butylated hydroxytoluene(industrial organic chemicals) used for green house cover stuffs was contained mostly in the green vegetables, spices and wild plants not in the fruits and cereals with$43\%$ detected. In the same agricultural products containing butylated hydroxy toluene showed same detection tendency with remaining endocrine disrupting pesticides. -

A sensitive analytical method based on gas chromatograpy-mass spectrometry with a selected ion monitoring (GC/MS-SIM) with the purge-and-trap concentration and with headspace method (in limited applications) was developed for determining of epichlorohydrin in canned beverages coated with epoxy resin. The calibration curve in the range of
$0.5\sim50ng$ had correlation coefficient greater than 0.998 and a detection limit of$0.l\mug/L$ was obtained using a sample volume of 20ml. The predominant ions of epichlorohydrin produced in MSD using electron ionization(EI) were m/z 57 ([M-CI]+) and 62/64$([M-CH_2O]+)$ . In survey of epichlorohydrin in thirty commercial canned beverage samples, none of them was detected. -

Solid phase micro-extraction (SPME), a solvent-free, rapid and inexpensive method for the extraction of organic compounds from aqueous sample matrices, was evaluated for determination of the 120 pesticides in vegetables such as crown daisy, perilla leaf, leafy lettuce and to mato. The analysis conditions were chosen for the SPME method: 15 min of immersion of the PDMS fiber in 10 ml of the solution with stirring at 1,000 rpm. The recovery tests were carried out in triplicate. The range of recoveries was 0-142% for organochlorine pesticides and
$4.9\sim200\%$ for organophosphorus pesticides. The recoveries were very low in the pesticide groups with low solubility in water. The recoveries became lower in proportion to the interference materials in vegetables. The recovery in tomato was relatively higher than that in perilla Ie af and crown daisy. The recovery values obtained by SPE and SPME were compared. In leaf y lettuce, recovery obtained by SPE method ranged from$58.1\%\;to\;136.1\%$ and recovery by SPME ranged from$9.6\%\;to\;176.3\%$ In organophosphorus pesticides. The recovery in SPME method was satisfactory with$136\%$ for ethoprophos,$119\%$ for methidathion and$113\%$ for diazinon. Meanwhile, recovery of EPN, phenthoate and 2,4-DDT revealed relatively low value of$38\%,\;41\%\;and\;3.4\%,$ respectively. However, most of pesticides applied to SPME method sho wed constant recovery and precision. From these results, it can be concluded that solid phase micro-extraction might be an appropriate method for the screening test of pesticides in vegetables. -
