Objectives : The purpose of this study was to present the clinical guidelines for gastric cancer. Methods : The literature on Western and Oriental medical treatment of gastric cancer were collected, analyzed and summarized from the Google Scholar, KIOM OASIS and PUBMED from 1993 to 2014. Results : Gastric cancer is the second most common cancer in Korea. In recent studies, applying integrative oriental and western medicine can suppress the tumor, improve the survival, the immune system, and the quality of life in gastric cancer. But there isn't still a unified protocol for gastric cancer treatment, so we have difficulty in clinical application. This study will be helpful for understanding and building systems for integrative gastric cancer treatment. Conclusion : Further studies on integrative gastric cancer treatment are needed to improve the survival of gastric cancer patients and build the clinical practice guidelines of gastric cancer.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Korean Medicine Treatment (KMT) on the advanced gastric carcinoma (AGC) patient. Method : One advanced gastric carcinoma patient was treated by Korean Medicine Treatment composed of pharmacopuncture, acupuncture and herbal medicine. At the same time, he received chemotherapy (S-1 and Cisplatin) and radiotherapy. The effect of KMT was measured by scanning with Computed tomography (CT) and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). Response was evaluated using the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) Committee classification. Result : The tumor was disappeared after the treatment during 13 months (Complete Response (CR)). As treatment was performed, chemoradiation therapy induced complication was alleviated. Conclusion : This case provides us a possibility that Korean Medicine Treatment offers potential benefits for advanced gastric carcinoma patient.

This report is aimed to investigate the effect of Integrative Medicine Therapy (IMT) in treating metastasized ovary and endometrial cancer. A 51-year-old woman who was diagnosed double primary ovarian and endometrial cancer in 2009. The patient was treated with Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy (LAVH), Bilateral Salpingo Oophorectomy (BSO) Pelvic Lymph Node Dissection (PLND), adjuvant chemotherapy till Sep. in 2013. But metastases to Rt. External Iliac artery, Aortocaval area Lymph Nodes, Liver(caudate lobe), Rt. Buttock subcutaneous area, Lt. Gastric Area Lymph Nodes were found. Finally, the patient decided to be treated by IMT including Abnoba Viscum, Vitamin C, herbal medication and pharmacopuncture combined with chemotherapy. The efficacy was evaluated with Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET-CT) and Abdomen Computed Tomography (CT). The metastatic tumor in liver was disappeared and Rt. external iliac artery, aortocaval area Lymph Nodes, Rt. buttock subcutaneous area were also decreased after 6 months treatment. These results suggest that IMT may have a potential role for metastatic cancer.

This report is aimed to investigate the effect of Integrative Medicine Therapy (IMT) in treating breast cancer metastasized to several portion. A 55-year-old woman who was diagnosed breast cancer and treated by breast conservation surgery (BCS) IN 2002. (pT2M0N0), adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy till Jan. in 2013. But cancer had metastasized to sacrum (2009), liver (2012) and ribs (2013). Finally cause of several side effects of Xeloda(neuralgia and vommiting), she gave up to be treated by Xeloda and started to receive IMT including Abnoba Viscum, Vitamin C therapy Xeloda again, Korean herbal medicine and pharmacopuncture from Jul. in 2013. The effect was evaluated with Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET-CT) and Abdomen Computed Tomography (CT). The metastatic tumor in liver was disappeared and cancers to ribs, their size decreased after 12 months and pain of sacrum maintained VAS 2 continually. These results suggest that IMT is a therapeutic method to treat metastatic tumor originated from breast cancer.

Objectives : Thyroid cancer is one of the most common and rapid increases of malignancy worldwide. It is the aim of the present a case of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) treated with acupuncture alone to derive further studies of the determination of treatment options for PTMC, such as surgery, acupuncture and observation alone, etc. Method : A 51-year-old woman with malignancy of thyroid nodule ($0.89{\times}0.59cm$) was referred to our hospital on January 2010. We applied to the acupuncture alone three times weekly by the patient's decision from January 2010 to November 2014. Blood tests were conducted three times during the treatment period and ultrasonography was performed every 6 months. Results : Both laboratory data and tumor size results showed no deteriorations as compared with those of initial examination. The patients has been survived in healthy state without any metastasis or disease progression on November, 2014. Conclusion : This case presents a possibility that acupuncture or observation alone can be provided as an option in the treatment means for patients with PTMC. Further study will need to study more longer follow-up and a large number of patients for PTMC using acupuncture or observation alone.

Objectives : To study the effect of SB injection on tumor size in an advanced non-small cell lung cancer patient. Methods : A patient was clinically diagnosed as advanced non-small cell lung cancer (Stage IIIa). Four cycles of intravenous SB injection were conducted. Each cycle lasted 4 days. The content of 7vials SB was injected every day. To compare the tumor size before treatment and after four cycles of SB injection, chest computed tomography (CT) was performed. Results : Follow-up CT images showed that the tumor size was reduced. In admission, size of the tumor $6.7{\times}8.5{\times}9.5cm$ on the left lower lobe of lung. After SB injection, size of the tumor $5.6{\times}6.8{\times}8.4cm$ by Chest CT. The patient's symptoms such as cough, sputum were improving until four cycles of SB injection. Numerical rating scale (NRS) showed improvement of Chest pain from point 3 to point 0. Conclusions : This case study suggests that intravenous SB injection may have significant effects of anti-tumor for non-small cell lung cancer.
