The topic of this study is the translation of "Byun Jeung Rok Vol.VII(辨證錄七卷)". Byun Jeung Rok is a complete book of medicine which was written by Jin Sa tak(陣士鐸) in the early years of the Ching dynasty. Of this, the seventh volume is composed of 6 disease-patterns(病證) and 55 subtopics. Byun Jeung Rok(辨證錄) explains disease-patterns(病證) through the unique and outstanding perspective of the individual author. This topic was studied in hopes of helping later students by showing to the world, through its translation, the author's understanding of disease pattern. The organized characteristics of "Byun Jeung Rok(辨證錄) Vol.VII" is as follows. 1. Byun Jeung Rok based his theory on the traditional paradigm, Yin-Yang and Five phases. and criticized another doctor's misleading opinion by it. 2. Jin Sa tak thought it highly important to distinguish the internal injury and the external wound. and this view was influenced by Ming dynasty's doctors. 3. Jin Sa tak very often used providing nutrition to patients as a way of treatment. because he thought that a variety of diseases are caused by the weakness of organs.

Characteristics Regarding Xiang Yao (Hyang Yag) Jiu Ji Fang Life Saving Local Botanical prescriptions in Medical Research Xiang Yao Jiu Ji Fang is Korea's most ancient extant medical manuscript. It was first published between 1232 and 1251 during the Goguryeo period (Gao Zong) by the (Jianghuadao Da Cang Du Jian) Great Storage Depository Under Capital Supervision. The entire work is divided into three scrolls named the front, middle and back parts. There is also an appendix titled Fangzhong Xiang Yao Mu Cao Bu 'Catalogue of Medicines in the Local Botanicals prescriptions' in one volume. The contents comprise discussion of internal medicine diseases, external medicine diseases, commentaries on sexually transmitted diseases, diseases caused by parasites and bugs, diseases of the five orifices, gynecological diseases and pediatric diseases, in all totaling fifty three types of disease. The prescriptions record 180 types of xiangyao or hyang yag-local botanicals representing the beginning of an independent Korean path of development. Owing to the development during the Goguryeo period of medical material left to us by history, investigation and research in the area of hyang yag local botanicals has bequeathed us methods used in the contemporary period. Through the related comprehensive annotated explanatory notes and documents, much analysis and discussion is taking shape.

The topic of this study is the translation of "Byun Jeung Rok Vol.XI(辨證錄十一卷)". Byun Jeung Rok is a complete book of medicine which was written by Jin Sa tak(陣士鐸) in the early years of the Ching dynasty. Of this, the eleventh volume is composed of 6 disease-patterns(病證) and 41 subtopics. The organized characteristics of "Byun Jeung Rok(辨證錄) Vol.XI" is as follows. Chapter 1 refers to the symtom, agent and prescription of Hysterorrhea(帶下病). It explains five color Hysterorrhea; white, red, black, yellow and blue. Chapter 2 refers to the symtom, agent and prescription of Oligemic Menoschesis(血枯). It explains two cases of Menoschesis. Chapter 3 refers to the symtom, agent and prescription of Metrorrhagia(血崩). It explains eight cases of Metrorrhagia. Chapter 4 refers to the symtom, agent and prescription of Dysmenorrhea(月經不調). It explains fourteen cases of Dysmenorrhea. Chapter 5 refers to the symtom, agent and prescription of Infertilitas(不姙). It explains ten cases of Infertilitas. Chapter 6 refers to the symtom, agent and prescription of Hyperemesis(惡阻). It explains two cases of Hyperemesis. Obviously the Byun Jeung Rok(辨證錄) is one of the very important texts in the oriental medicine. But there is no exact Korean translation, so I study this six chapters and translate them into Korean. Finally, I hope this thesis can be an aid of development in the knowledge informatization of Korean medicine.

This study covers the historical aspects of the turmeric and curcuma only in detail on the medicinal uses, supported by references to the medical texts. And the result is as follows: 1. Turmeric and curcuma are rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plants of the ginger family, but both produced on the same herb. The rhizome is considered turmeric while the tuber is considered curcuma. 2. Turmeric is the round, oval, or ovate, and scutiform rhizome. 3. Curcuma is yellowish externally, internally more or less orange-yellow passing into reddish-brown. The tuber has a round and cuspidate appearance. The smell is aromatic, somewhat analogous to ginger. 4. Turmeric is somewhat analogous to curcuma in shape, but turmeric is pungent and bitter in taste, warm and intoxious in property, and yellow in color, acting on the spleen and liver channels and governing the gi of the blood while curcuma is pungent and bitter in taste, cold and intoxious in property, red in color, acting on the heart and pericardium channels and governing the blood. 5. Turmeric is referred to zedoary, sliced turmeric, old jaundice, precious aromatic, and ovate rhizoma, and curcuma is referred to radix curcuma, curcuma aromatica, and cicada-belly curcuma

"Byun Jeung Rok(辨證錄)" written by Jinsatak(陳士鐸) is composed of 14 volumes. In relation to the contents, it is organized into 126 gates(門) and 770 remaining syndromes(餘證) where internal medicine, external medicine, pediatrics, gynecology(內科 外科 小兒 婦人), etc. are divided into sub-sections of cold damage, cold stroke, wind stroke(傷寒 中寒 中風), etc. He explained the symptom, cause of disease, method of treatment, prescription, construction of prescription, instruction of medicine and prognosis(症狀 病因 治法 處方 處方構成 服用法 預後) thoroughly. This study, as an inquiry of the sec 14 volume pediatrics(小兒), deals with febrile fit cacotrophy vomiting diarrhea(驚疳吐瀉), coprozoic parasite(便蟲), smallpox(痘瘡), eruption(疹症), eating mud(喫泥), fetal toxin(胎毒). It was written very logically so it is easy to understand. The analysis of the symptoms are brief and appropriate. Therefore, it is considered to have significant clinical value for future generations and is applied by them. Finally, this topic was studied in hopes of helping later pediatrics clinical treatment.
