The fuel cell is one of the green energy receiving a lot of attention. Among the fuel cells, it is generally referred to SOFC(solid oxide fuel cell) which is made up composites of a solid. SOFC has excellent merits in the side of environment and energy. However because of the high operating temperature, it has economic loss by the using of expensive materials and problems of structural instability by thermal stresses. Therefore, this study aims to the effect of analysis by the FEMLAB. The results have deformations and the maximum stresses from the variation of the thickness of vulnerability spots. The deformation shows expansion as 0.82% and the stress ${\sigma}_{xx}$ is 392MPa in electrolyte and -56.31MPa in anode. When increasing or decreasing the thickness to 50% of the reference thickness about the electrolyte which is vulnerable spots.

Two popular activity coefficient models, Wilson and NRTL equations have been used to correlate the published flash point data on the n-propanol + propionic acid and n-butanol + propionic acid systems through the optimization method. The results of these correlation were compared with the results calculated by Raoult's law. The optimization method were found to be better than those based on the Raoult's law. The optimization method based on the Wilson equation described the published data more effectively than was the case when the optimization method was based upon the NRTL equation.

In Japan, protective measures to reduce falls from scaffolds have been strictly applied within industry safety guidelines, and such measures have significantly decreased fatal accidents due to falls from scaffolds. However, the rate of fatal accidents from falls is still high in the construction industries. In order to examine further countermeasures to reduce such falls, the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare established a committee in our institute. That committee$\acute{i}$s work experimentally confirmed the effectiveness of using plastic sheets as a covering around scaffolds to protect against falls of construction materials (a method widely used in Japan). However, the workers fell from the space between the work platform and the plastic sheets very occasionally. Based on those results, the plastic sheets were improved for fall protection from the space, and the effect of the improved sheets was confirmed experimentally.

In this thesis, appearance inspection, compressive strength of concrete test, arrangement of bar inspection, survey, and bearing stress analysis were performed on a damaged coping of reinforced concrete pier to investigate the damage cause. According to the performed a series of inspections, it was found that the coping of pier was damaged during PSC (Pre-stressed Concrete) beam construction. In this thesis, the repair method for damaged pier was studied. The repair procedure used in this thesis was follows : chipping for damaged part, clean by high-pressure, installation of wire mesh, coating of surface hardening, construction of section restoration material, copula grinding, and prevent coating for far-infrared radiation.

Seismic response control method of the bridge structures with semi-active control device, i.e., magneto-rheological (MR) damper, is studied in this paper. Design of various kinds of clipped optimal controller and fuzzy controller are suggested as a semi-active control algorithm. For determining the control force of MR damper, clipped optimal control method adopts bi-state approach, but the fuzzy control method continuously quantifies input currents through fuzzy inference mechanism to finely modulate the damper force. To investigate the performances of the suggested control techniques, numerical simulations of a multi-span continuous bridge system subjected to various earthquakes are performed, and their performances are compared with each other. From the comparison of results, it is shown that the fuzzy control system can provide well-balanced control force between girder and pier in the view point of structural safety and stability and be quite effective in reducing both girder and pier displacements over the existing control method.

Lifting capacity and difficulty of task are influenced by body posture. In RULA and REBA, the body was divided into segments which formed two groups, A and B. Group A includes the upper and lower arm and wrist while group B includes the neck, trunk and legs. This ensures that whole body posture is recorded so that any awkward or constrained posture of the legs, trunk or neck which might influence the posture of the upper limb. This study aimed to measure MVC (maximum voluntary contraction) and subjective judgment in psychophysical method (Borg's scale) according to trunk and upper arm angle and to analyze results statistically. The results of this study were that lifting capacity was more influenced by interaction of body posture rather than angles of each part, and MVC variation according to trunk and upper arms angles should different patterns. This means that we consider the interaction of trunk angles and upper arm angles when we access risk factors of the postures. This survey would be also the basic data to evaluate difficulty of lifting tasks according to body postures ergonomically.

Personnel maintaining or repairing the railway tracks or signaling facilities around tracks may experience the sensory disorder when doing maintenance works at the trackside of railway for long time. In this case personnel maintaining at the trackside may collide with the train since they cannot recognize the approach of motor-car although it approaches to the vicinity of maintenance workplace because of the sensory block phenomenon occurred due to their long hours of continued monotonous maintenance work. In order to prevent such motor-car accidents that may occur because railway track workers are unable to recognize the approaching train, the safety alarm equipment is developed to make the approaching motor-car send radio signals and bidirectional detection mechanism between approaching train and trackside personnel. It shows the possibility of utilization in various forms of safety equipment for workers only to the safety helmet to be worn by the maintenance workers while using the configuration of transmitting/receiving sides. In the paper it is represented new alarm equipment, which is the bone-anchored speaker-based safety helmet to be worn by the maintenance workers.
