The results of adult mosquitoes collection at Uijeongbu-si, Dongducheon-si in Gyeonggi-do where malaria outbreak occur in Korea are presented. Light traps collection were operated for adult collection from April to October, 2001. Among the total 12 species comprising 4 genera, 4 species in Anopheles, 3 species in Aedes, 1 species in Armigeres and 4 species in Culex were identified in the collection using the black light traps. The adult population densities of Anopheles sinensis peaked at an average of 200 in Gwangam-dong, Dongduchen-si in July and an average an average of 977 in Songsan-dong, Uijeongbu-si in August. Nocturnal Activities of Anopheles sinensisn peaked at between 22:00 ∼23:00(21.0%) and 16.4% between 21:00 and 22:00, 13.1% between 23:00 and 24:00, 13.0% between 20:00 and 21:00, 11.7% between 24:00 and 01:00 in averages.

This study was carried out to investigate the optimal condition for granite particle coagulation process by using various chemical coagulation agents. The coagulation of a suspended granite particle was monitored by using various different coagulants, such as $Al_2(SO_4)_3{\cdot}14H_2O,{\;}FeCl_3{\cdot}6H_2O,{\;}SA-solution(KOH{\;}+{\;}Al(OH)_3{\;}+{\;}K_2CO_3{\;}mixture)$ and jade particle. To accomplish this study, analysis of water quality, removing Turbidity and Packing Density were measured with jar-tester. In the results of this experiment, it was found that the removal rate of the granite particle was increased with the decrease of the pH of the sludge. The turbidity(NTU) at the above coagulants was reduced from 95% to 98%. Removed of Turbidity and Packing Density was more efficiency to the SA-solution than others.

This study has researched the indoor air Pollution in the school classrooms. It focused on the school classrooms in which the students take part in many loaming activities for a long time, not focused on the offices or underground facilities that have occupied the interest so far. First, I investigated the origination sources of indoor air pollution which influences on our health, and researched the data on the consequences of it on the human body. Second, I measured the indoor air Pollution level of the classrooms in which the students take part in activities. I selected CO, $CO_2,{\;}SO_2,{\;}NO_2$and $PM_{10}$ as the research items. Each two schools were chosen in the elementary schools, middle schools and high schools as the ones for measurement. And I distinguished the boys' schools from the girls' schools in the middle and high schools. CO, $SO_2{\;}and{\;}NO_2$were comparatively low comparing with the recommendation of the Ministry of Environment. But, $CO_2{\;}and{\;}PM_{10}$ exceeded the standard concentration in most schools and there was a difference between boys'classrooms and girls'classrooms about them. Also, it was different by the number of members a classrooms. Third, I made a questionnaire on the on the indoor air pollution. The questionnaire showed that many students feel the indoor air pollution directly and they are under the influence of it.

본 연구 목적은 계측저항이 없는 열선유속계를 이용하여 매립지 가스의 유량을 산정할 때 가스조성에 의해 발생되는 계측오차를 최소화할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자하였다. Rotor meter와 가스조성 밀도를 이용하여 산정한 관 중심유속을 계측저항이 없는 열선유속계를 이용하여 구한 관 중심유속을 비교함으로서 계측오차를 측정하였다. 실험결과 열선 유속계와 rotor meter를 이용한 매립지 가스유속 계측오차의 최소화 방안을 통하여 매립지 가스유량의 오차 범위를 10% 이내로 최소화 할 수 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

The purpose of study was to suggest an investigation of citizen's attitude on harmful insects in house. This study was consisted of four parts, such as basic investigation (housing shape, housing material, the period of house constructed, a cleaning condition), condition of kitchen, condition of living room condition of bathroom. The environmental pollution was increased by the development of industry and urbanization in modern. And also the clean of house has related with air quality such as pollutants and harmful insects etc. Because dwelling shape of urban come to be crowded, shut tightly and high buildings, the air quality of indoor was gradually polluted by several irregular cause. In one of housing pollution, the harmful insects was important any other than indoor air pollution. The problems of kitchen were the odor of food waste, discharge system of sewage and harmful insects. The important issues of living room were mold and construction materials, then important them of bathroom were easing nature and discharge system of sewage. A kind of the harmful insects in house investigated cockroach> mosquito> ant>fly. Finally, it appeared that the control of harmful insects can be applied to the improvement of indoor air pollutant which are difficult to be controlled in house.

This research was carried out using Anderson air sampler which were set up on the roof of the Engineering College of Konkuk University at Hwayang-Dong, Kwangjin-Gu, Seoul from Aug. 1992 to foul. 1999. The results are as follows: The major component of yellow sand is soil particles based upon the observation that particles ranging from $3.3~7.0{\mu}m$ occupy 36~63%. It is certain that the increase of fine particles of respirable dust during yellow sand phenomenon in Seoul area affects the human body. The trace metals from natural sources like Al, Ca, Fe, K, Na, and Si show larger mass median diameter(MMD) values during yellow sand phenomenon than in normal situations while the values of MMD for Mn and Pb rarely changes. Noticeably, the changes in value of MMD of water soluble elements like ${NO_3}^{-}$ and ${SO_4}^{2}$ are 2.3 and 6.6 times higher during the yellow sand phenomenon compared to normal situations, respectively. This fact is regarded as decisive evidence showing that ${NO_3}^{-}$ and ${SO_4}^{2}$ in the air are attached to yellow sand and move together.

The study was carried out to evaluate the characteristics of biodegradation by Pseudomonas putida G7 in soil column. The reactor system was used to investigate mass transfer of VOCs as Toluene in a column of unsaturated soil. Determination of the fate of VOCs in unsaturated soil is necessary to evaluate the feasibility of natural attenuation as a VOCs remediation strategy. The objective of this study was to develop a mechanistically based mathematical model that would consider the interdependence of VOC transport, microbial activity, and sorptive interactions in a moist, unsaturated soil. Because the focus of the model was on description of natural attenuation, the advective VOCs transport that is induced in engineered remediation processes such as vapor extraction was not considered. It can be concluded that the coefficient for gas liquid mass-transfer was found to be a key parameter controlling the ability of bacteria to VOCs. Finally, it appeared that bioremediation technology of VOCs which are difficult to be decomposed by chemical methods.

Carbon cast iron and Zinc coated steel were the most widely used portable water of supply and distribution Pipeline system. The leaching of red water in portable water could produce sericus environmental sanitary problems. Due to the red water was the most alternative to inner scale of metal pipeline. So this study was conducted the impact of red water on scale products, and was evaluated by the corrosive metal contaminants of 20 fears over. Surface tests, metal surface composition measurements of samples XRF, XRD, and SEM(EDS), analysis were used to investigate the corrosion characteristies of carbon cast iron and Zinc coated steel. As the contaminants of Fe increased the red water of carbon castiron pipe increased due to the scale products amount of $Fe_2O_3$ (Hemite).

질소 주입하에 스틸렌과 디비닐벤젠의 양을 조절하면서 1%, 2% 및 5%의 가교도를 가진 공중합체를 합성하고 여기에 염화아연을 첨가하였다. 벤젠을 넣고 팽윤 시킨 다음 톨루엔 용매에서 요드화 칼륨과 21.93g의 1-aza-15-crown-5를 가하고 $55^{\circ}C$로 30시간 교반 환류하여 중감속 이온을 흡착 할 수 있는 기능성 수지를 합성하였다. 이들 수지는 가교도가 증가할수록 디비닐벤젠 함량이 증가하여 다공도가 작아져서 염소의 함량이 감소되고 이것이 치환 과정에서 거대고리 리간드에 영향을 주어 질소의 함량도 감소되었다. 그리고 기능성 합성수지의 형태는 수소와 염소 원자의 치환 반응으로 찌그러짐을 볼 수 있었다.

This study explored for treatment processes by investigating the treatment efficiency and reaction mechanism through oxidation reaction using UV and $O_3$ as oxidant in compensate the wastewater containing nitrobenzene that is non biodegradable organic. Also by modeling these reactions, we try to step explanation of optimum reaction rate and reaction mechanism as the development of the computer program predictable the reaction rate by modeling the reaction. By using this model, after kinetic constant for each reaction from an experimental data is made an optimization and for hardly contribute to reaction rate in reaction kinetic equation is made an ignorance and suppose the simplified reaction mechanism, examined the propriety of computer simulation model and simplified reaction mechanism by comparing and inspecting the reaction kinetic constant and masstransfer coefficient. An investigation results for destructional treatment of nitrobenzene in the wastewater as non-biddegradable organic using UV, $O_3{\;}O_2{\;}H_2O_2-UV$ as oxidant.

This study was carried out to investigate release characteristics of phosphorus with DO, pH and temperature, to suppose its behaviour with time using mathematical model, and to under-stand its forms with pH. Released SRP was in inversely proportional to DO and it did few release in initial aerobic conditions, but it did actively with decreasing DO concentration. Also, its release was increased with increasing pH and temperature. It was found that relation between time and released SRP concentration was zero order reaction. As compared with k values in various pH and temp., they was $k_{15}>k_{25}$ in pH 6 but was $k_{15} in pH 7 and 8. Considering forms of phosphorus with pH, Resdi.-P & NAI-P increased but Ads.-P & Apt.-P decreased with increasing pH.
