Content Analysis of Nursing Students' Perception of the Elderly

간호대학생의 노인 인식에 대한 내용분석

Abstract

In this study, nursing students' perception of the elderly through content analysis were reviewed. Data collection took place from June to July, 2022, 63 statements suitable for the purpose of the study were analyzed. As a result, they were classified into 4 categories and 10 themes, 45 sub-themes. 1) 'Perspective for the Elderly' category involved negative view, positive view, sympathetic view, and indifference, 2) 'Aging Process' category involved the elderly's figure, 3) "The Elderly in Society" category involved the elderly in modern society, social phenomenon, right of the elderly, 4) 'Improving Relationships with the Elderly' category involved understanding the elderly, self-reflection. The topics derived in this way can be used as basic data to help nursing college students understand the perception of the elderly and improve the perception of the elderly.

본 연구에서는 간호대학생이 인식하는 노인은 어떠한지 내용분석을 통해 확인하였다. 자료수집은 2022년 6월 27일부터 7월 15일까지 이루어졌으며, 전남지역에 있는 일 간호대학 4학년 중에서 연구 참여에 동의한 학생 65명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하고, 연구목적에 맞는 63개의 진술문을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 4개 범주로 구분하고, 10개의 주제와 45개의 하위주제로 분류되었다. 첫 번째 '노인을 바라보는 관점'범주에서는 부정적 시각, 긍정적 시각, 동정적 시각, 무관심 등의 4개 주제가 도출되었으며, 두 번째 '노화 과정' 범주에서는 1개의 주제인 노인 모습이 도출되었다. 세 번째 '사회 속에서의 노인' 범주에서는 현대사회에서의 노인, 사회적 현상, 노인의 권리 등 3개 주제가, 마지막으로 '노인과의 관계 개선'범주에서는 노인 이해하기, 자기성찰이라는 2개의 주제가 도출되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 간호대학생의 노인에 대한 이해를 돕고, 노인 인식 개선을 위한 기초자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.
