Effect of Deicer on the Concrete and Steel (제설제가 콘크리트 및 강재에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, calcium chloride($CaCl_2$), sodium chloride (NaCl), organic acids-containing deicer(NS 40, NS 100), mixed deicier($NaCl\;70\%\;+\;CaCl_{2}\;30\%,\;NS\;40\;70\%\;+\;CaCl_{2}\;30\%,\;NaCl\;70\%\;+\;NS\;40\;30\%,\;NS\;40\;70\%\;+\;NaCl\;30\%$) is investigated based on the laboratory test for freez-thaw resistance of concrete and corrosion of metal. As a test results, in case of the use chloride-containing deicier in area that concrete structures has subjected to freez-thaw reaction in winter season, it showed desirable method that use deicing chemicals mixed with optimum ratio rather than use one deicing chemicals when is consider to deicing performance and effects, corrosion of steel materials, freez-thaw resistance of concrete. When use various deicing chemicals mixed, NS40($70\%$)+Calcium chloride($30\%$) showed the best effective method.

  • Accoarding as a specimen for reinforced concrete bridge deck was designed by each researcher's opinions, its size and shape was variable. Therefore, it makes difficult to comparison with other experiments. In the result of researching papers for design method of reinforced concrete bridge deck specimens, there is hardly found. The target of this study is introduction of the design method of a reinforced concrete bridge deck specimen. The most important point for the specimen design is materialization of the curvature of the real bridge deck. The result of this study appears that the specimens thickness effects highly to fit for the real reinforced concrete bridge deck's curvature.

  • FBG temperature sensor and strain sensor has been used to monitoring shrinkage and temperature of concrete retaining wall in construction site in its casting early age. The test results indicate that this monitoring method is a practical method for monitoring concrete at very early age. The monitoring technique used in this research could be extended to monitor shrinkage and temperature for mass concrete structure.

  • Naphthalenic admixture(PNS) has been widely used as main component of AE reducing agent among superplasticizers for concrete for a long time. However its noxiousness has been appointed because of formaldehyde compound applied during in synthetic process. In this study, AE reducing agent prepared using PNS and substituted-PNS agent(ECO-AEM) without formaldehyde compound added to concrete. For these agent, the basic performance of concrete and ecological affinity properties were evaluated and compared.

A Study on Corrosion Resistance of Reinforced Concrete Structures using Natural Inorganic Minerals (천연 무기 광물계 혼화재료를 혼입한 철근콘크리트 구조물의 부식저항성에 관한 연구)

  • As a fundamental study on the corrosion resistance of reinforced concrete structures using Natural Inorganic Minerals exposed to carbonation environment, The test specimens were concrete(W/C=60%) with Natural Inorganic Minerals content of 0%, 10%. Accelerated carbonation and autoclave corrosion accelerated curing were then conducted with them. The corrosion resistance of steel in concrete with Natural Inorganic Minerals content of 0%, 10% was examined by corrosion form, half-cell potential, polarization resistance, corrosion area and weight loss after 24 hours of autoclave corrosion accelerated curing.The results of the study showed that as for steel in concrete with Natural Inorganic Minerals content of 10%, the corrosion resistance was more excellent than steel in concrete with Natural Inorganic Minerals content of 0%.

  • The object of this study is vibrating compaction and curing method in the production process of Design concrete for precast concrete(Design-PC) product. From change of vibrating compaction time and pre-curing time, curing temperature which would be factors of product quality in Design-PC concrete production, and research of optimized steam curing condition from relations between curing condition and strength development, basic data of vibrating compaction time and concrete steam curing method for Design-PC will be presented.

  • This study is to evaluate flexural behavior of RC beam with different types of coarse aggregates, so called natural or recycled aggregate. Two reinforced concrete beams were manufactured with different replacement level of recycled coarse aggregates : Concrete made with 0% of coarse aggregates, concrete made with 100% of recycled coarse aggregates. From the test, the general flexural performances of RC beams with different types of coarse aggregates such as cracking moment, crack patterns, maximum moment/crack width are discussed.

  • In this study, the effects of aggregates on the properties of concrete as a study to determine the mechanical properties of high-temperature damaged concrete were examined. The samples to be reviewed are cement paste, mortar, and concrete, and the strength characteristics were reviewed after heating the compression strength and tensile strength properties. The increase in magnetic shrinkage at around 100℃ showed a significant drop in strength in mortar, which does not contain aggregates or has a small diameter, and after 300℃, concrete showed a sharp drop in strength due to the hydration and aggregation of cement.
