Prediction Model on Autogenous Shrinkage of High Performance Concrete Used Material for Shrinkage Reduction (수축저감재료의 영향을 고려한 고성능 콘크리트의 자기수축 예측 모델)

  • Generally, the autogenous shrinkage of high performance concrete is important in that it can lead the early cracks in concrete structures. In the previous study, The. autogenous shrinakge of HPC was found to decrease with incresing expansive additive and shrinakge reduction agent. In case of combined use, the autogenous shrinakge was more reduction than in case separate use. The purpose of this study is to derive a realistic equation to estimate the autogenous shrinakge model of high performance concrete with exapnsive agent and shrinakge reduction agent. investigated the durability of high performance concrete using expansive additive and shrinkage reducing agent. The proposed equation showed reasonably good correlation with test data on autogenous shrinakge of high performance concrete with material for shrinkage reduction.

  • The geological survey of the Mokdo island is for the fist time conduted in Korea history. The island had erupted before $70{\sim}80$ million years as a strato-volcano. The original volcano had been dissected for long periods up to the skeletal stage through the planeze stage. If the island area is surveyed afterwrds in detail, the position of crater is available to be found, either. The coastal terrace is found at 50m level in Mokdo island which is correlated to its fourth plane. The microgeomorphological features as coastal terrace, cliff, sea cave, wave-cut bench, sea stacks, notch, and tafoni, etc. were described. The Mogdo island is located off Molundae at the extension of Nagdong Jeongmaeg(낙동정맥 洛東正脈) showing a "floating turtle". The name of Mogdo island is needed to change to the "Yoo-goo-do" which means the swimming turtle. The Mokdo island is as suitable tourist attraction for if has enough touism sesouccesein sea. The deuelopsment of coartal sightseeing anound lighthoure and uninhabited islands will hare an impontant effect upon construction of the oceanic capitol city of Busan Haabor. The master plan built up an arboretum on the island, a coastal oceanarium, a seaweeds garden under sea coast, and other oceanic culture-spaces is completed in the study.

Anti-inflammatory Effect of Bear's Gall in Rat Microglia

  • We hypothesize that bear's gall may have a certain role in anti-inflammation through a preventive effect of pro-inflammatory potentials. Secondly, we tried to connect the experimental results to Alzheimer's disease (AD), which chronic inflammation is a main cause of the disease. For this theme, we designed to elucidate the efficacy of bear's gall in suppressing the pro-inflammatory mediators, such as nitric oxide (NO) and $interleukin-1{\beta}\;(IL-1{\beta})$ in rat microglia. From the study, we concluded that bear's gall plays a positive role in suppressing such pro-inflammatory repertoire from rat microglia comparing to normal and positive control, such as culture media and cyclosporine. Interestingly, bear's gall showed a prolonged effect of anti-inflammation comparing with cyclosporine when time goes by up to 48h with a significant suppression at $1.2\;mg/m{\ell}$. Therefore, we can consider that bear's gall in part can be applied to AD therapy in that it suppresses the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators as well as its continued effect.

  • The most common feature of neurodegenerative disease (i.e. Alzheimer's disease, AD) is the increased number of activated microglial cells nearby the pathogenic area of the brain, such as amyloid plaque in AD. An abnormality of protein regulation and an imbalance of clearance against ${\beta}-amyloid\;(A{\beta})$ produced amyloid precursor protein (APP) can turn microglia into the activated feature out of the ramified resting phase. We examined the possibility that ginsenoside Rb1 could attenuate the microglial activation induced by massive $A{\beta}$ that has known to induce a chronic inflammation, which is a major cause of AD by damaging neuronal cells (i.e. apoptosis or necrosis). Aggregated $A{\beta}42\;(5\;{\mu}M)$ peptide was used with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) ($10\;{\mu}g$) for a comparative control up to 48hours. We found that Rb1 reduced the production of nitric oxide as well as proinflammatory cytokines, such as $IL-1{\beta}$ and $TNF-{\alpha}$.

  • The oxidizer filling system, ground facility of the launch complex, should accept difficult requirements from the launcher sufficiently. The launcher do not have unnecessary insulators for mass reduction and manages liquid oxygen mass fastidiously to satisfy the mission requirement. So, the ground facility should be able to accept its requirements, then we should make the operating process being adjusted. In this paper, the operating process design and verification results on the oxidizer filling ground facility for liquid rocket is demonstrated.

  • Stroke occurs when local thrombosis, embolic particle or the rupture of blood vessele interrupts the blood floe to the brain. $\beta$-estradiol 17-valerate has been reported to exert neuroprotective effects when administered before an ischemic insult. Recently, the pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia has been studied extensively in rat with various methods. In the present study, we investigates whether $\beta$-estrodiol 17-valerate can protect against brain injury. RNA sample were extracted from the hippocampus of female rat, reverse-transcription in the presence of [$\alpha$32p] dATP. Differential gene express-ion profiles were revealed (Bone morphogenetic protein type 1A receptor, Protein disulphide isomerase, Leukemia inhibitor factor receptor, cytochrome bc- 1 complex-x core P, thiol-specific antioxidant protein). RT-PCR was used to validate the relative expression pattern obtained by the cDNA array. The precise relationship between the early expression of recovery genes and stroke is a matter of luther investigation. Hydroacoustic Survey of Spatio-Temporal Distribution of Demersal Fish Aggregations Near the West Coast of Jeju Island, Korea (제주도 서쪽 연안에서 음향자원 조사를 이용한 저층 어군의 시.공간 분포)

  • This study aims at assessment of spatio-temporal distribution of demersal fish aggregations near the west coast of Jeju Island using hydroacoustic survey. A 200 kHz split beam transducer attached to a small towed body was used for all acoustic investigations. The received acoustic data were in situ acoustic target strength (TS, dB) for all pings and nautical area scattering coefficient(NASC, $m^2/mile^2$) for 0.1 mile along 12 acoustic transects. Demersal fish aggregations are distributed around the coastal slope having 20 to 30 m depth throughout all seasons. The concentration is higher during the summer season. With regard spatial distribution, higher demersal fish aggregations have been detected near the West coast of Shinchang and especially near Chagwi-do. Pelagic fish aggregations were higher to the south of Chagwi-do during the spring season. Additionally, standing stock of demersal fish aggregations from the NASC data, TS function, and length-weight function of dominant species was estimated as follows: 3.2 ton (CV 21.8%) in December 2006, 17.9 ton (CV 21.6%) in April 2007, 30.8 ton (CV 17.8%) in June 2007, and 22.5 ton (CV 24.2%) in October 2007. The application of hydroacoustic methods offers a new approach to understanding spatiotemporal structure and estimate the biomass of demersal fish aggregations in the coastal area. And the results can be made up limitations of qualitative analysis through net and diving for fisheries resources survey in coastal area.

Characteristic Tests on the Gas Turbine Generator System for Determination and Verification of Model Parameters in a Combined Cycle Power Plant (복합화력발전소 가스터빈 발전기계통 모델정수 도출 및 검증을 위한 특성시험)

  • In this study, a technical characteristic test was conducted on the gas turbine generator system of Seoincheon Combined cycle no.6 to derive and verify the model constants. As a result of the generator maximum/minimum reactive power limit test, the maximum reactive power limit is 80 MVar and the minimum is -30 MVar. The generator uses the GENROU model, the field time constant (T'do) is 4.077 s, and the inertial constant (H) is 5.461 P.U. Excitation system used ESST4B model to derive and verify model constants by simulating no-load 2% AVR step test, PSS modeling derived from PSS2A model constants, and simulated and compared measurement data measured when PSS off/on Did. The GGOV1 model was used for the governor-turbine, and the numerical stability of the determined governor-turbine model constant was verified by simulating a 10% governor step test through the PSS/E simulation program

Design and Implementation of Cyber Attack Simulator based on Attack Techniques Modeling

  • With the development of information technology and the growth of the scale of system and network, cyber threats and crimes continue to increase. To cope with these threats, cybersecurity training based on actual attacks and defenses is required. However, cybersecurity training requires expert analysis and attack performance, which is inefficient in terms of cost and time. In this paper, we propose a cyber attack simulator that automatically executes attack techniques. This simulator generates attack scenarios by combining attack techniques modeled to be implemented and executes the attack by sequentially executing the derived scenarios. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed attack simulator, we experimented by setting an example attack goal and scenarios in a real environment. The attack simulator successfully performed five attack techniques to gain administrator privileges.
