Genotype-Environment Interaction and Stability Analysis for Yield and Yield Contributing Characters in Soybean(Glycine max L.)

  • GE interaction is the expression of differential genotypic adaptation across environments. GE interactions through different stability parameters and performance of the traits of genotypes were studied. The traits were days to maturity, pod length, number of pods/ plant, 100-seed weight and seed yield/plant in ten soybean genotypes across five environments. Significant differences were observed for genotypes, environments and GE interactions. Stability analysis after Eberhart and Russell's model suggested that the genotypes used in this study were all more or less responsive to environmental changes. Most of the genotypes perform better in Env.3. Based on phenotypic indices(Pi), regression ($S^2di$) genotype Garurab was found fairly stable for days to maturity. BS-23 and G-2120 may be considered as stable genotype for pod length. All the genotypes except G-2120 showed that the genotypes were relatively unstable under environmental fluctuation for the number of pod/plant. Genotype BS-23 was found most stable among all the genotypes for 100-seed weight. BS-3 and Gaurab was the most stable and desirable genotypes for seed yield in soybean.

Changes of Anthocyanidin, Growth Characteristics and Brown Rice Yield of Red Colored Rice at Two Region of Eastern Coast in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province

  • The study was carried out to determine the changes of growth characteristics, anthocyanidin, and brown rice yield grown at coast and inland areas apart from the east coastline of Gyeongsangbuk-do province. Number of spikelets per panicle was much more increased in inland area. Regional difference in number of spikelets per panicle was observed in Jeongjinju cultivar. Among these red rice cultivars, the highest brown rice yield was Jeongjinju rice cultivar having 702 kg in inland area and 692 ㎏ in coast area, respectively. Anthocyanidin content ranged 524 to $610{\mu}g/g$ dry weight basis. Cyanidin content was 11.4 to 14.0 times higher than that of delphinidin under coast and inland area. Anthocyanidin content was higher in rice cultivar grown at coast area. Highest head brown rice rate was only observed in Geonganghongmi to 95.2 at coast area and 95.4 inland area. In considering brown rice yield and pigment content, Hongjinju rice cultivar was recommended in optimal pigment rice cultivar in eastern coast of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.

  • 땅콩 육종의 선발효율을 높이기 위한 유전력, 표현형상관, 유전상관, 환경상관 및 경로계수의 지역간변동을 알기 위하여 화성, 청주, 진주, 광산, 제주등 5개지역에서 실시된 시험성적을 중심으로 유전통계량의 분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 개화기, 주경장, 100립중 및 $\m^2$당착협수의 유전력은 매우 높으며 지역간 변동도 적어 다수계통선발의 주요형질로서 중요시되는 반면, 일차분지수, 수량의 유전력은 중정도이며 완숙립비율, 협실비율은 낮은 편이었고 지역간 변동도 컸다. 2. 주경장과 수량, $\m^2$당착협수와 완숙립비율, $\m^2$당착협수와 수량, 100립중과 수량은 정의 유전상관이 있었고 개화기와 수량간에는 부의 유전상관이 높았으나 지역간 변동량은 일정한 경향이었다. 3. 경로계수의 지역간 변동은 크나 수량에 대한 직접효과가 큰 형질은 주경장, $\m^2$당착협수 등이었다.

육묘과정 중 배양액 추비시용과 정식방법에 따른 '설향' 딸기 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Fertilizer Application and Planting Method on Growth and Yield of 'Seolhyang' Strawberry in Seedling Stage)

  • This study was performed to identify the effect of fertilizer application and planting method on growth and yield of 'Seolhyang' strawberry during seedling raising. According to the concentration of fertilizer applied, the height of daughter plants was the highest at an EC of $0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. Leaf number and crown diameter were greatest at an EC of $0.6-0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. In the first measurement, root number was highest in non-fertilizer application, while root weight was heaviest in non-fertilizer application and EC $0.4dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. The higher the concentration of fertilizer applied as culture media, the lower the growth rate. Thirty days after planting on the main field, plant height and number of new leaf were highest at an EC of $0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. However, no significant difference was found in leaf length and width and chlorophyll content according to fertilizer application. Marketable yield of 25 g or higher was greatest in EC $0.6dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. In contrast, no significance was found in total marketable yield at an EC of $0.4-0.8dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. Aconsistent pattern was exhibited in the growth of 1-5 harvesting flower clusters according to planting method. The length of leaf and flower cluster was short and chlorophyll content was low, when bed soil was removed 100% in harvesting of the first flower cluster. In all treatment, leaf length was shortened until harvesting of the second and third flower cluster, but rapidly lengthened in harvesting of the third and fourth flower clusters. Moreover, the length of flower cluster had a increasing tendency from harvesting of the third flower cluster. However, chlorophyll content was reduced continuously until harvesting of the fifth flower cluster, and was lowest in harvesting of the fourth flower cluster without removal of bed soil. Total yield was greatest in treatment of crown removal in bed soil between November and May. Late marketable yield between March and May was highest in treatment of 100% bed soil removal, followed by treatment of crown removal. Marketable yield of 25 g or higher was greatest in treatment of crown removal between December and February, while greatest in treatment of 100% bed soil removal between March and May.

  • 독활(獨活)에 대(對)한 3요소(要素) 시비량(施肥量) 차이(差異)가 생육(生育) 및 수량반응(收量反應)과 양분흡수(養分吸收)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 구명(究明)하고 적정(適正) 시비량(施肥量)을 얻고자 축행(逐行)과 시험결과(試驗結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 시비량(施肥量) 증가(增加)에 따라 파종후(播種後) 1년차(年次)와 2년차(年次) 공(共)히 지상부(地上部) 생육(生育)과 뿌리수량(收量)이 증가(增加)되었고 회귀식(回歸式)에 의한 2년차(年次) 3요소(要素) 적정시비량(適正施肥量)턴은 10a당(當) 질소(窒素) 38kg, 인산(燐酸) 21kg, 가리(加里) 18kg이었다. 2. 독활(獨活)의 뿌리수량(收量)에 대(對)한 제형질(諸形質)의 기여도(寄與度) 값을 비교(比較)해 본 결과(結果) 초장(草長), 근경(根徑), 묘두수(苗頭數), 경대(莖大), 근수(根數) 순(順)으로 나타났다. 3. 3요소별(要素別) 상대수량(相對收量) 지수(指數)는 질소(窒素), 가리(加里), 인산(燐酸) 순(順)으로 낮았고, 시비효율(施肥效率)은 가리(加里), 인산(燐酸), 질소(窒素) 순(順)으로 높았다. 4. 독활(獨活) 잎의 무기성분(無機成分) 분석결과(分析結果) 석회함량(石灰含量)이 가장 많은 반면(反面), 인산함량(燐酸含量)이 적게 함유(含有)되어 있고 질소(窒素)와 가리(加里) 시비량(施肥量)이 증가(增加)함에 따라 잎의 질소(窒素)와 가리함량(加里含量)도 증가(增加) 경향이었으며 특히 질소함량(窒素含量)이 뿌리수량(收量)과 고도(高度)의 유의성(有意性) 있는 정의 상관(相關)을 보였다. 5. 무기질비료(無機質肥料)와 유기질비료(有機質肥料) 처리간(處理間)의 생약(生藥) 일반성분함량(一般成分含量) 즉 이물함량(異物含量), 회분(灰分), 에탄올 추출 엑기스를 비교(比較) 분석(分析)한 결과 두 처리(處理)간에 뚜렷한 성분함량(成分含量) 차이(差異)를 인정(認定)할 수 없었다.

파종시기에 따른 참깨 수량구성요소 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Different Sowing Dates on the Yield-related Traits and Seed Yield of Sesame)

  • 파종시기를 달리하여 참깨 수량구성요소 및 종실수량에 미치는 영향과 수량구성요소 간 상호 연관성을 구명하고자 2019부터 2020년까지 수행하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 참깨를 만파하면 기본적인 생육량이 확보되지 않은 상태에서 생식생장으로 전환되어 초장, 분지수, 주당삭수의 감소로 궁극적으로는 총 종실 수량이 감소하였으며, 조파 시 저온으로 인한 유효적산온도 및 일조시간 확보 불충분으로 총 종실 수량이 줄어드는 경향을 보였다. 2. 우리나라 기상조건에서 참깨 파종적기인 5월 상순에 파종하면 평균 주당삭수는 103개로 다른 파종기보다 4~44개 정도 많았으며 종실수량도 90 kg/10a으로 다른 파종 기대비 5~70 kg정도 많았다. 3. 회귀분석을 통한 참깨 수량구성요소의 종실수량에 대한 연관성 정도를 비교하여 본 결과 주당삭수가 가장 크게(R2=0.7211) 나타났으며 분지수(R2=0.1896)가 가장 적었다. 이러한 차이는 온도나 일장 등 재배환경에 대한 수량구성요소의 감응도 차이, 관련요인 간 상호작용, 공시품종의 일장 및 온도반응성 정도 등 복합적인 요인이 관여하는 것으로 판단되었다. 4. 경로분석을 통해 참깨 총 종실수량에 미치는 직접효과는 주당삭수 0.621, 초장 0.521, 천립중 0.086 순으로 크게 나타났다. 직접효과와 간접효과를 합한 총 효과는 주당삭수가 0.921로 가장 높았으며 초장 0.889, 분지수 0.482, 천립중 0.345 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 조파, 만파 시 불량 기상환경조건에서 주당삭수를 많이 확보할 수 있는 품종 선정이 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

황색종 연초(Nicotiana tabacum L.)에서 엽탈락과 농경적 형질과의 상관 (Correlation Coefficient of Leaf Breakdown with Some Agronomic Characters in Flue- Cured Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.))

  • This study was conducted to obtain the breeding information for the leaf breakdown, and correlation coefficients between leaf breakdown and some agronomic characters in flue-cured tobacco at Taegu Experiment Station, Korea Ginseng & Tobacco Research Institute. NC 95 and NC 2326 were used as parents. The bulk method procedure was used from the F2 to the F4 generations, 54 plants were selected among F4, and 11 lines were selected among 54 F5 which based on high resistance to bacterial wilt compared with NC2326. The entries were composed of parents and 11 F6 advanced lines, and designed in randomized block with 3 replications. Plant seedlings were transplanted in 16 April. The number of breakdown leaf were investigated at flowering stage, 18 June. There were significant difference between NC 95 and NC 2326 for the number of breakdown leaf, number and weight of ground suckers, days to flower, yield and resistance to bacterial wilt, and similar results were appeared among lines. Estimated heritability in the broad-sense ranged from 59.3% to 87.4% for all characters. Most of genetic correlations were higher than phenotypic coefficients between characters. Number of breakdown leaf was positively correlated with days to flower, the number and weight of ground suckers, while it was negative to yield. One line among 11 had few breakdown leaf, low producted ground suckers and high resistance to bacterial wilt. Above results suggest that the number and weight of ground suckers can be use as a selection criterion for leaf breakdown even under the condition without leaf breakdown.

A Strategy of Assessing Climate Factors' Influence for Agriculture Output

  • Due to the Internet of Things popularity, many agricultural data are collected by sensors automatically. The abundance of agricultural data makes precise prediction of rice yield possible. Because the climate factors have an essential effect on the rice yield, we considered the climate factors in the prediction model. Accordingly, this paper proposes a machine learning model for rice yield prediction in Taiwan, including the genetic algorithm and support vector regression model. The dataset of this study includes the meteorological data from the Central Weather Bureau and rice yield of Taiwan from 2003 to 2019. The experimental results show the performance of the proposed model is nearly 30% better than MARS, RF, ANN, and SVR models. The most important climate factors affecting the rice yield are the total sunshine hours, the number of rainfall days, and the temperature.The proposed model also offers three advantages: (a) the proposed model can be used in different geographical regions with high prediction accuracies; (b) the proposed model has a high explanatory ability because it could select the important climate factors which affect rice yield; (c) the proposed model is more suitable for predicting rice yield because it provides higher reliability and stability for predicting. The proposed model can assist the government in making sustainable agricultural policies.

간척지 토양에서 바이오에탄올용 단수수 유전자원의 생육특성 (Characteristics of Sweet Sorghum Germplasm for Bioethanol Production in Reclaimed Soil)

  • 농업유전자원센터 및 국외에서 수집한 단수수 유전자원 140품종을 대상으로 주요 형질변이를 탐색하여 우리나라 간척지 토양에 알맞는 품종을 선정하고 아울러 단수수 품종 육성에 필요한 기초 자료를 얻고자 수행한 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 간척지 토양에서 단수수의 작물학적 생육특성은 간장 175 cm, 수장 26 cm, 절수 9개, 경태 11.6 mm, 생경중 12.1 톤/ha, 출수소요일수 96일이었다. 2. 바이오에탄올 생산에 크게 영향하는 당도 범위는 5.7~23.5 Brix였고, 평균 14.1 Brix였으며, 20 Brix를 초과하는 고 당도 품종은 Sugar Drip Cane Seed(23.5 Brix), Indiana Amber(21.4 Brix), Dwarf Blackhull Kafir(21.7)이었으며, 고 당도 품종육성에 유망한 유전자원이었다. 3. 생경중의 범위는 20~50 톤/ha이었고, 평균 12.1 톤/ha이었으며, 생경중 30톤/ha 이상으로 높은 품종은 Honey (50.3 톤/ha), IS8012(36.6 톤/ha), Dwarf Blackhull Kafir(35.3 톤/ha) 등 이었다. 4. 주요 형질간의 상관관계는 간장과 수장, 절수, 경태, 생경중, 출수소요일수 간에, 절수와 경태, 생경중 간에 고도로 유의한 정의 상관을 나타내었다. 5. 생경중은 간장, 절수, 경태, 출수소요일수와 고도로 유의한 정의 상관을 나타내었다.

Seven Days of Consecutive Shade during the Kernel Filling Stages Caused Irreparable Yield Reduction in Corn (Zea mays L.)

  • In monsoon climates, persistent shade is a troublesome weather condition with an impact on the growth and yield of corn (Zea mays L.). We imposed 7, 14, 21, and 28 days of consecutive shade (CS) on Gwangpyeongok and P3394 corn hybrids at the beginning of the kernel filling stages. Shade had little impact on leaf area and dry matter accumulation in the stem and leaves. However, dry matter accumulation in the ear was severely reduced by approximately 28% and 53% after 14 and 28 days of CS, respectively. For the components of grain yield, 7 and 14 days of shade did irreparable damage to the number of filled kernels, the kernel number per ear row, and the percent of filled kernels, but did little damage or reversible damage after removal of the shade to the 100-grain weight and the row number per ear. Shade significantly reduced the relative growth rate (RGR) due to a decrease in the net assimilation rate (NAR). These results suggest that source activity limitation by shade during the kernel filling stages leads to the inhibition of sink activity and size. The yield of biomass, ear, and grain logistically declined as the length of CS increased. Probit analysis revealed that the number of days of CS needed to cause 25% and 50% reductions in grain yield were 3.7 and 23.1, respectively. These results suggest that the plant yield loss induced by shade at the beginning of the kernel filling stages is mainly achieved within the first 7 days of consecutive shade.
