  • In this paper, we proposed a multi-agent based healthcare system (MAHS) which is the combination of medical sensor module and wireless communication technology. This MAHS provides wide services to mobile telemedicine, patient monitoring, emergency management, doctor's diagnosis and prescription, patients and doctors, information exchange between hospital workers in a long distance. Also, MAHS is connected to Body Area Network (BAN) and a doctor and hospital workers. In addition, we designed and implemented extended JADE based MAHS that reduces hospital server's burden. Agents gather, integrate, and deliver the collected patient's information from sensor, and provide presentation in healthcare environment. Proposed MAHS has advantage that can handle urgent situation in the far away area from hospital like Islands through PDA and mobile device. In addition, by monitoring condition of patient (old man) in a real time base, it shortens time and expense and supports medical service efficiently.

  • Recently, More and more consumer enjoy the finance service such as settling, account transferring, stocks investment, and so via mobile device. In the mobile environment, data transferring between the devices is formatted as XML. However, the common XML file is exposed to the attack such as hacking and malignity code, to satisfy security of mobile environment is very difficult. The problem is more seriously at the open platform such as WIPI that is developed by our country. So there is enough reason to propose one system to protect the import data. In this paper, we development the system to digital signature and signature the XML document in order to protect data, and the system is observing the recommendation of the XML Signature Syntax and Processing by W3C. When designing and composition the system, we use the digital signature algorithm RSA, DSA, KCDSA, and HMAC, etc. we test the system at the open WIPI platform.

  • In case of implementing a complicated application like WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) in a mobile terminal with the characteristics of bare machine and versatile kernel aspects of which are control, interrupt and IPC(Inter Process Communication), a special methodology should be needed. If not, it will cause more cost and human resources, even delayed product into launching for the time-to-market. This paper suggests AKL, (Abstract Kernel Layer) for the design and implementation of WAP on basis of multi-platform. AKL is running on the various kernel including REX, MS-DOS, MS-Window, UNIX and LINUX. For the purpose of it, AKL makes machine-dependant features be minimized and supports a consistent interface on API (Application Program Interface) point of view. Therefore, it makes poring times of a device be shorten and makes easy of maintenance. We validated our suggestion as a consequent of porting WAP into PlamV PDA and mobile phone with AKL.

  • An image recognition for surrounding conditions is very important in image transmission. In recently rears, as the information infrastructure is more general, the user-centered demands in which they want to identify by object's states image using wire or wireless environment have increased. However, existing mobile solution could be hard to expect high quality mage, because limitation of software processing according as network based on mobile terminal which has low band width supports software codec. To solve this weak point, this paper describes on hardware codec design based on MPEG-4 which is international video compression standard. Implemented system contains the embedded CPU for optimized design and it works high quality service as transmission speed and resolution in mobile circumstance.

  • Mobile content adaptation is a technology of effectively representing the contents originally built for the desktop PC on wireless mobile devices. Previous approaches for Web content adaptation are mostly device-dependent. Also, the content transformation to suit to a smaller device is done manually. Furthermore, the same contents are provided to different users regardless of their individual preferences. As a result, the user has difficulty in selecting relevant information from a heavy volume of contents since the context information related to the content is not provided. To resolve these problems, this paper proposes an enhanced method of Web content adaptation for mobile devices. In our system, the process of Web content adaptation consists of 4 stages including block filtering, block title extraction, block content summarization, and personalization through learning. Learning is initiated when the user selects the full content menu from the content summary page. As a result of learning, personalization is realized by showing the information for the relevant block at the top of the content list. A series of experiments are performed to evaluate the content adaptation for a number of Web sites including online newspapers. The results of evaluation are satisfactory, both in block filtering accuracy and in user satisfaction by personalization.

  • This paper is a first-hand summary on our comprehensive live trial of cellular-assisted device-to-device (D2D) communications currently being ratified by the standards community for next-generation mobile broadband networks. In our test implementation, we employ a full-featured 3GPP LTE network deployment and augment it with all necessary support to provide realtime D2D connectivity over emerging Wi-Fi-Direct (WFD) technology. As a result, our LTE-assisted WFD D2D system enjoys the required flexibility while meeting the existing standards in every feasible detail. Further, this paper provides an account on the extensive measurement campaign conducted with our implementation. The resulting real-world measurements from this campaign quantify the numerical effects of D2D functionality on the resultant system performance. Consequently, they shed light on the general applicability of LTE-assisted WFD solutions and associated operational ranges.

  • In this paper, we propose to develop a Bluetooth Health Device Profile (HDP)-based smartphone system to utilize it for early detection of urinary tracts diseases that occur a lot in cats. Therefore, based on Bluetooth HDP, we developed a device and mobile application system (Mycatner®) that can monitor cat activity, toilet usage, urinary disease, and health status, and evaluated its availability to monitor cat health status. The specific feature of this system is that it can measure the number of cat urination frequencies to identify abnormal conditions suspected of urinary tract diseases early, and second, it can be tested with urine test paper and shared with animal hospitals, reducing time and cost. As a result, it is evaluated that the developed device capable of wireless monitoring the urinary system health status of cats is the first in our knowledge.

  • Performance of TCP can be severely degraded in WLP-based Mobile IP wireless networks where packet loss not related to network congestion occurs frequently during WLP-based inter-subnetwork handoff by user mobility. To resolve such a problem in the networks using WLP-based Mobile IP, the packet buffering method recovering seamlessly the packets dropped due to user mobility has been proposed. The packet buffering method at a bridge station recovers those packets dropped during handoff by forwarding buffered packets at the old bridge station to the WLP device. But, when the WLP device moves to a congested bridge station in a new WLP foreign subnetwork, those buffered packets forwarded by the old bridge station are dropped and TCP transmission performance of a WLP device in the congested bridge station degrades due to increased congestion by those forwarded burst packets. In this paper, a PBM(Packet Bridge Marker) is proposed for preventing buffered out-of-profile(OUT) packets from reducing the throughput of in-profile(IN) packets of an Assured Service WLP device. From this operation, the packet losses of buffered OUT packets are avoided and the throughput of IN and Total packets of an AS WLP device are increased.

  • With the development of water internet technology, data communication between objects is expanding. Research related to data communication technology between vehicles that incorporates related technologies into vehicles has been actively conducted. For data communication between mobile terminals, data stability, reliability, and real-time performance must be guaranteed. The 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, which is advantageous in bandwidth, communications speed, and wireless saturation of the wireless network, was selected as the data communications network between vehicles. This study analyzes how to design and implement a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network in a vehicle network. Considering the characteristics of the mobile communication terminal device, a continuous variable communications structure is proposed to enable high-speed data switching. We simplify the access point access procedure to reduce the latency between wireless terminals. By limiting the Transmission Control Protocol Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)-based Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server function and implementing it in a broadcast transmission protocol method, communication delay between terminal devices is improved. Compared to the general commercial Wi-Fi communication method, the connection operation and response speed have been improved by five seconds or more. Utilizing this method can be applied to various types of event data communication between vehicles. It can also be extended to wireless data-based intelligent road networks and systems for autonomous driving.
