  • Wireless Mesh Network(WMN) is wireless backbone networks technique which has ease of network configuration and cost of advantage. Recently, WNM released a new product, but most of existing research and technology analysis the performance through the simulation. This paper build the wireless mesh network testbed for actual situation. Testbed supports multi-channel multi-interface using bridge, the Wireless Distribution System and dynamic location-based routing protocol. This routing protocol strongly design against wireless interference using metric for link channel change and real distance. Then, the address of mesh clients assigned by the centralized address management server. Mesh clients is designed and implemented to manage network through Simple Network Management Protocol.

  • This study introduces a novel approach for locating damage in a structure using wireless sensor system with local level computational capability to alleviate data traffic load on the centralized computation. Smart wireless sensor systems, capable of iterative damage-searching, mimic an optimization process in a decentralized way. The proposed algorithm tries to detect damage in a structure by monitoring abnormal increases in strain measurements from a group of wireless sensors. Initially, this clustering technique provides a reasonably effective sensor placement within a structure. Sensor clustering also assigns a certain number of master sensors in each cluster so that they can constantly monitor the structural health of a structure. By adopting a voting system, a group of wireless sensors iteratively forages for a damage location as they can be activated as needed. Since all of the damage searching process occurs within a small group of wireless sensors, no global control or data traffic to a central system is required. Numerical simulation demonstrates that the newly developed searching algorithm implemented on wireless sensors successfully localizes stiffness damage in a plate through the local level reconfigurable function of smart sensors.

  • Limitation of fossil energy from one side and the efficiency of the electrical engine from another side motivate the industrials to encourage people for utilizing electric vehicles (EVs). To decrease the cost of EVs, the size of battery should be reduced which causes an inconvenient frequent recharging. Wireless charging is a solution for charging of electric vehicles on the move, but frequent charging causes to disclose users' location information. In this paper, we first propose an infrastructure for wireless charging of electric vehicles, and then we explain security issues that can be stated in this condition.

  • In this paper, we propose a group key management scheme for very high confidential information in tactical wireless networks. For the proposed scheme, we consider the tactical networks that has a hierarchical topology and the nature of high confidential information. The leader node, which may have higher probability of good channel state than others, provides some data to all the network member in order to generate a geographical group key and it transmits the encrypted information with minimum transmission power level to others. By this scheme, the security and reliability for sharing confidential information is ensured. The performance of the proposed scheme is validated by mathematical analysis. It shows that the proposed scheme makes nodes to share a high confidential information securely if the proper parameters for network design are selected.

  • A considerable literature has recently grown up on the theme of ship wireless communications. However, much of the research up to now has been descriptive in the offshore area. There has been little quantitative analysis of wireless communication in inland waterways, which has received considerable attention lately. Until now, only the effects on inland river environment are examined. What is less clear is the nature of channel change caused by the antenna movement. Here we explore the moving ship-to-fixed-ship fading characteristics at 5.9 GHz for an inland waterway in the city center of China. The ship motion trajectory is designed in order to determine the effect of changes in the antenna position. We evaluate the channel fading characteristics of inland waterway, which are highly correlated with the distance between transmitter and receiver. We demonstrate that the line-of-sight component, as well as the components from multipath with obstruction reflections, contributes largely to the mean power gap. Our findings reveal critical ship-to-ship characteristics in inland waterway, which definitely contribute to the field of ship wireless communications.

  • One of the fundamental problems in wireless sensor networks is the efficient deployment of sensor nodes. The Fuzzy C-Means(FCM) clustering algorithm is proposed to determine the optimum location and minimum number of sensor nodes for the specific application space. We performed a simulation and a experiment using two rectangular and one L shape area. We found the minimum number of sensor nodes for the complete coverage of modeled area, and discovered the optimum location of each nodes. The real deploy experiment using sensor nodes shows the 94.6%, 92.2% and 95.7% error free communication rate respectively.

  • Accurate and low-cost sensor localization is a critical requirement for the deployment of wireless sensor networks in a wide variety of application. Sensor position is used for its data to be meaningful and for energy efficient data routing algorithm especially geographic routing. The previous works for sensor localization utilize global positioning system(GPS) or estimate unknown-location nodes position with help of some small reference nodes which know their position previously. However, the traditional localization techniques are not well suited in the senor network for the cost of sensors is too high. In this paper, we propose the sensor localization method with a mobile robot, which knows its position, moves through the sensing field along pre-scheduled path and gives position information to the unknown-location nodes through wireless channel to estimate their position. We suggest using the sensor position estimation method and an efficient mobility path model. To validate our method, we carried out a computer simulation, and observed that our technique achieved sensor localization more accurately and efficiently than the conventional one.

  • In this paper, we proposed the multimedia call admission control algorithm with the bandwidth reservation based on the prediction of wireless terminal's location to guarantee quality of service for multimedia applications in cellular networks. This algorithm aims at minimizing possible errors In predicting the moving direction of terminals using a mobility prediction scheme. This prediction reduces the size of bandwidth reserved redundantly. In order to evaluate the performance of the algorithm, the blocking rate of new calls and the forced termination rate of hand-off calls are measured and compared the results with those of existing schemes. The results of the experiment revealed that the algorithm presented in this paper achieved better performance with lower call blocking rates and forced-termination rates than those of other methods.

  • Maintaining efficient energy consumption and elongating network lifetime are the key issues in wireless sensor networks. Existing routing protocols usually select the cluster heads based on the proximity to the sensor nodes. In this case the cluster heads can be placed farther to the base station, than the distance between the sensor nodes and the base station, which yields inefficient energy consumption. In this work we propose a novel algorithm that select the nodes in a cluster and the cluster heads based on the locations of related nodes. We verify that the proposed algorithm gives better performance in terms of network life time than existing solutions.

  • SPWPM traditional software development is surveyed and essential problems are investigated on the basis of system wireless link considerations. This paper presents the current state software planning tools for wireless LAN link optimization. The software directory is based on combination of MatLab and MapInfo software and measurement which gives the best grouping parameters to build up the software development. Among the requirements assumed, the WLAN site selections must be Line-of-sight (LOS) or near line of sight (NLOS) field strength prediction for either point to point or point to multi points. The results obtainable the out put of the program include two-dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) plots for creating the link; design parameters through GUI representing the height and location for each antenna is depending on K-factor of the area and transmit antenna location.
