  • For smart structure technologies, the interests in wireless sensor networks for structural health monitoring are growing. The wireless sensor networks reduce the installation of the wire embedded in the whole structure and save the costs. But the wireless sensor networks have lots of limits and there are lots of researches and developments of wireless sensor and the network for data process. Most of the researches of wireless sensor network is applying to the civil engineering structure and the researches for the highrise building are required. And strain-based SHM gives the local damage information of the structures which acceleration-based SHM can not. In this paper, concept of wireless sensor network for structural health monitoring of highrise building is suggested. And verifying the feasibility of the strain-based SHM a strain sensor board has developed and tested by experiments.

  • Dosan Sedans was built in 1560, when Toege I Whang(1500-1571) was 60, as a place in which to study and teach disciples. The building was built to a humble 3-kan system which was a popular form of sodang in the 16th century, There found an enlargement of space by attaching outer walls around three sides which was designed by Toege himself. Minimum in space, moderation in form, conrol of embellishment, hermit scholar's aethetics became basic concept of the architecture of Dosan Sodang. After completion of sodang, Toege wrote many poems about pond, walls, flower bed and natural surroundings like sheer cliff, winding river and even rural daily life of villagers around the building. It could be sud that ,for Toege, architecture was cogniged as a whole complex of building and its surrounding natural, artificial and human circumstances.

  • Artificial lighting accounts for a significant portion of the energy use in office buildings. Therefore, daylighting is considered one of the fundamental design features of energy-efficient buildings. However, complex daylighting simulation tools are not suitable for most designers to help in the decision-making process. This paper provides the results of a simulation analysis to determine the potential energy savings of daylighting effects reducing electrical energy consumption for office building. A whole building simulation tool is used to determine the effects of daylighting on lighting electricity use as well as total electricity use for typical office buildings. It was determined that daylighting does not provide significant additional lighting energy savings when glass transmittance is increased over 0.7 A simplified method is developed based on the analysis results to estimate the annual electrical energy savings attributed to daylighting.

  • The end of the 20th century, on the ecological world-view which looks the whole things as systematic and admits the incessant change, human is considered to function with the environment mutually and to evolve in harmony with it. Because of the living style of the modern people whose most time spent inside of the buildings, eco-office elements are introduced in the inteior places where many general publics are gathered. We gather up the all information about Eco-office, introduction of green building certification system, Eco-office System Technics and provide source to how to design interact with eco-office.

  • Structures consisting of concrete and steel parts, which are irregular in damping ratios are investigated. This investigation is a code-based seismic design of such structures. Several practical difficulties encountered, due to inherent differences in the nature of dynamic response of each part, and the different damping ratios of the two parts. These structures are irregular in damping ratios and have complex modes of vibration so that their analysis cannot be handled with the readily available commercial software. Therefore, this work aims to provide simple yet sufficiently accurate constant values of equivalent damping ratios applied to the whole structure for handling the damping irregularity of such structures. The results show that the equivalent damping ratio changes with the height of the building and the kind of the structural system, but it is constant for all accelerations values. Thus, available software SAP2000 applied for seismic analysis, design and the provisions of existing seismic codes. Finally, evaluation of different kinds of structural system used in this research to find the most energy dissipating one found by finding the best value of quality coefficient.

  • Nowadays BIM(Building Information System) is applied to the public construction delivery system. BIM can help communications between project applicants through the extraction of the exact and prompt information. It also increases the efficiency of planning, construction, economic feasibility and maintenance in the whole project. Due to increasing demands of BIM, project evaluation and its process on the final deliverables have been in major interests. Thus, through the analysis of the current BIM project, characteristics, types and applications have been researched. We have discussed completeness, relationship and planning of BIM data, which are the standards of evaluation.

A small architectural scene safety management is a necessity for basic research as a whole and of 67.20% died in the disaster, which killed the disaster scene in a small building. Small construction site for a reflections of the prevailing security situation, the existing literature and statistical data to determine what the issue, for the purpose of the proposal and come up with improvement measures.

  • Identification of damage of structures has recently received considerable attention in the light of maintenance and safety assessment. In this respect, the vibration characteristics of buildings have been applied steadily to obtain a damage index of the whole building, but it cannot be established as a practical method until now. A practical method for the estimation of structural damage using the first natural frequency and mode shape of building is proposed in this paper. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by numerical and experimental tests. From the results, it is observed that severity and location of damage can be estimated with a relatively small error by using modal properties of building.

  • The construction drawing is a collection of knowledge that has accumulated knowledge and experience of designers and is highly valuable for recycling in the future. BIM is a process and technology that acquires and manages the information needed for the whole life cycle of a building. In order to recycle digitalized 2D drawings in BIM Tool, it is required to use 3D information based on the drawing information to save and reuse them, but there is little research on related methods or system development. In this study, 3D elements are created based on 2D drawing information, and libraries are constructed, and BIM Tool is used to improve the recyclability of drawing information.

  • Leaking of fuel gas in a building creates flammable atmosphere and gives rise to explosion. Observations from accidents suggest that some explosions are caused by quantity of gas significantly less than the lower explosion limit amount required to fill the whole confined space, which might be attributed to inhomogeneous mixing of the leaked gas. The minimum amount of leaked gas for explosion is highly dependent on the degree of mixing in the building. This paper proposes a method for estimating minimum amount of flammable gas for explosion assuming Gaussian distribution of flammable gas.
