LabVIEW를 이용한 TIG 용접 자동 전압 제어 장치 개발 (Development of Automatic Voltage Control Equipment using LabVIEW Software)

  • The arc, generated by Tungsten Inert Gas(TIG) welding, is stable and provides excellent quality of the weld. Since automation is difficult, a lot of work is performed by hand. In addition, to obtain the uniform weld quality is difficult when using a base metal having a nonuniform welding line, or when welding inside a pipe. Generally, TIG welding power has the characteristic of constant-current. The welding voltage is changed in proportion to the arc length. Hence, the automatic voltage control equipment should be applied at the TIG welding system. The automatic voltage control equipment has been designed using LabVIEW software. It consists of a manufactured voltage divider circuit, and jig for moving the torch. The voltage measurements and driving of the motor were performed through the algorithm implementation in LabVIEW. Welding was conducted while increasing the arc length. In this process, it was confirmed that the automatic voltage control equipment kept the arc length constant.

  • In order to improve productivity of large container ship construction, large heat input and/or high productive welding technologies are necessary. This can be achieved by the joint research and cooperation among steel maker, welding consumable company, welding equipment company and ship yards. Two electrodes SAW process is effective the plate butt welding and partial joint welding, while FGB welding process is for the connection of block to block joint. The higher strength and thicker steel is developed, the more reliable welding procedure such as two electrodes EGW including light weight welding equipment should be developed.

  • Seam seal welding on the semi-conductor package is a process for sealing the packages of semiconductors, crystal parts, saw filters, oscillators with lid plate by seam welding. This paper present the development process of automatic seam seal welding system. In this process, the process algorithm, high precision welding current control, design of welding head, high speed and high precision feeding mechanism, user interface process control program technologies are included.

  • Automatic welding has been used frequently on pipeline projects. The productivity and reliability are most essential features of the automatic welding system. The mechanized GMAW process is the most widely used welding process and the carriage and band system is most effective welding system for pipeline laying. This application-oriented paper introduces new automatic welding equipment for pipeline construction. It is based on cutting-edge design and practical welding physics to minimize downtime. This paper also describes the control system which was designed and implemented for new automatic welding equipment. The system has the self diagnostic function which facilitates maintenance and repairs, and also has the network function via which the welding task data can be transmitted and the welding process data can be monitored. The laser vision sensor was designed for narrow welding groove in order to implement higher accuracy of seam tracking and fully automatic operation.

  • The bracket tilt among automobile parts is weld parts which construct the column assembly bracket tilt of equipments and accurate dimension after welding is more essential than weldment strength. By the way, it is insufficient that systematic study about this parts which have an importance on welding deformation. The reason is that welding deformation is complex problem with shape, size, material of parts and welding sequence, conditions etc. For reduction and removal of welding deformation, therefore, it is necessary that the security of welding deformation data and systematic examination about equipment, costs, work environment, manufacturing process etc. It is all the better that the prediction of welding deformation using simulation of welding process by FEA is supplemented. In this study, the countermeasure for this welding deformation of bracket tilt is brought up through experimental inspection before the choice of the optimum welding conditions with minimum welding deformation by simulation of welding process.

  • GMA welding process is a production process to improve productivity for the provision of higher welding quality of material. These includes numerous process variables that could affect welding quality, productivity and cost savings. Recently, the welding part of construction equipment had frequent failure of major components in the welding part of each subsidiary material due to shock which is very poor according to the welding part. Therefore, the implementation of sound welding procedure is the most decisive factor for the reliability of construction machinery. The data generated through experiments conducted in this study has validated its effectiveness for the optimization of bead geometry and process variables is presented. The criteria to control the process parameters, to achieve a good bead geometry. This study has developed mathematical models and algorithms to predict or control the bead geometry in GMA fillet welding process.

  • Welding technology plays an important role in the fabrication of structure, and this has led to an increasing attention in the use of high quality advanced welding technology such as power beam welding, friction stir welding, and laser-arc hybrid welding, etc. At the same time, welding can influence various factors in the performance of plant and equipment, and corrosion behaviour of weldment has been one of the major issues for both welding and corrosion research engineers. The aim of this paper is to give a short survey of the recent technical trends of welding and corrosion behaviours including the electrochemical corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion fatigue in connection with the welding materials, welding process, and welding fabrication.

  • The cases of welders illness by welding fume generated during arc welding are recently reported, which makes the legal regulation in the welding work place. Also, this situation makes the employers and welders be concerned about the welding fume seriously. At this point of time it is necessary that a standard testing method is developed as a fundamental tool for the evaluation of Fume Generation Rate(FGR) required for making progress in the development of low fume electrodes and welding process technology and also constructing the ventilation system in welding area. However, the current standard(KS D 0062) is only applicable to the manual covered electrode arc welding. In this study the evaluation procedure for the FGR is established by developing the fume collection chamber which can be applicable to semiautomatic and automatic arc welding as well as manual arc welding. This evaluation system and procedure can be used as a tool not only to develop the low fume welding electrode and welding process technology but also to construct the equipment controlling the welding workshop atmosphere.

용접법의 우선순위 결정 방법 (Decision-Making Method of Priority Welding Process)

  • Nowadays, several welding processes are generally used to join parts together, and the materials are generally steel, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and other difficult-to-weld materials. If a proper welding process is chosen, it is helpful for welding parts. However, there is no desirable technique for appropriately deciding on the welding process in the industry. Therefore, an appropriate method of selecting a welding process is needed for the novice worker in the industry. In this sense, a new analytic network process (ANP) technique is used for effective decision making in welding. By considering several criteria in ANP, a selection method is suggested to decide on the proper welding process. In the study, several criteria were considered for the proper welding of parts. By considering a matrix of prior interdependence effects among various welding processes, a decision-making method based on an ANP is accomplished using a weighting matrix, which is supposed to select an appropriate welding process. In addition, for appropriate decision criteria of the welding process, several factors, such as material, shape, precision, economics, and equipment, are used to accomplish the ANP algorithm. Moreover, the final weighting matrix is calculated following its ANP strategy. Furthermore, this decision-making technique is applied to both stainless razor spot joining and thick steel pipe joining. The results show its reliability and practicality, and the novice engineer and manager can use this technique to determine the best welding process.
