Increasing interest in computer-mediated learning technologies has prompted educators to incorporate them into many learning environments ; however, there is still little evaluative evidence to support their effectiveness. This report describes the development and evaluation of a web-based instructional program on basic nursing science for nursing students. Researcher-designed questionnaires were used to assess the characteristics of our students, and to solicit their ratings of the instructional program on ease of use, accuracy of content, clarity of content, interest, and convenience of the program, using 5-point Likert scales. The respondents indicated that the package was easy and convenient to use, with high technical quality, and of a level challenging to some but not all of the students. On-line quizzes were most highly rated. Also it was confirmed that frequent users of electronic bulletin board showed much higher achievement score than that of nonfrequent users. It was also found that the effect of cyber education was dependent on the active participation of the students. These data suggest that the use of web-based instructional program as a distance education strategy can be an effective method for nursing students and nurses.

Recently, Internet web services including bulletin board of companies, public intuitions, or governments became the main ways of personal information leakage. However, it is hard to succeed to detect personal information and protect it from leakage manually by system administrators, because the number of web boards and attached files is so huge. Therefore, automatic scanning and filtering methods are needed to protect personal information like resident registration numbers from unexpected exposure. To do this, we developed a novel and advanced web security system for automatic personal information scanning and filtering.

Due to the development of technology even in learning and education area, many studies have begun to make a new attempts to research by using SNS, breaking away from traditional learning methods. However, the limitations of these studies are restricted only to the use of wireless Internet and writing on Web sites. This study aims to conduct a research on English learning activities that utilize various technologies such as Bigdata, Facebook, Social Network Services (SNS) and English applications. In addition, this study looks into how these modern technologies can be integrated in the classrooms and which activities can be applied in the English classroom. This research is to suggest effective English learning methods through a thorough investigation on the effectivity of various technologies based on the Web 2.0 such as Flickr, blogs, MySpace, and online discussion board within the context of the English learning. To verify the effect of the study, the subjects are divided into experimental and control group. The experiment is proceeded with pre- and post-test. The experimental group is designed to verify the effects using SNS tools such as Facebook, Bigdata, and Online Massive Learning. A survey is conducted to determine the preference of utilizing social networking sites and to analyze the effects in class. The result is that the average scores for experimental group have improved more than the average of control group. The comparison of pre and post-test of the experimental group shows that the significance of the higher and median group was statistically significant at the p<0.01.

This study presents the design and implementation of a web-based remote laboratory for a multi-mode single-leg power converter, which is a topic in advanced power electronics course. The proposed laboratory includes an experimental test rig with a multi-mode single-leg power converter and its driver circuits, a measurement board, a control platform, and a LabVIEW-based user interface program that is operated in the server computer. Given that the proposed web-based remote laboratory is based on client/server architecture, the experimental test rig can be controlled by a client computer with Internet connection and a standard web browser. Although the multi-mode single-leg power converter can work at four different modes (main boost, buck-boost, boost-boost, and battery boost modes), only the buck-boost mode is used in the experiment because of page limit. Users can choose the control structure, control parameters, and reference values, as well as obtain graphical results from the user interface software. Consequently, the feedbacks received from students who conducted remote laboratory studies indicate that the proposed laboratory is a useful tool for both remote and traditional education.

Since faults often occur on power system, relay protection has become an important part to protect the equipments of power system efficiently and safely. Database can store the data about the relay protection efficiently, and these data must be shown to users through the web. Proset2000(an overall program system to protect power system) can realize this function in some measure, but it needs to be developed. This paper is about the further development of Proset2000. In this paper, web of Proset2000 is made by ASP programming technology, and users can browse and search the useful data through the web. There are some new functions, such as the summary of setting values, the message board and the management of administrator.

The importance of the composition of the editorial board member is increasing as one of the measures to improve the quality of journals and to increase its international use. In this study, the composition of the Editorial Board Member (EBM) was analyzed for the journals listed in WoS and SCOPUS among domestic journals published in the field of social sciences to derive considerations to promote the internationalization of academic journals. As a result, for the internationalization of academic journals in the social science field, the composition of EBM that can promote the convergence of theory and practice, consideration of the regional aspect for the efficiency of EBM work, the composition of the EBM considering the efficiency of English-based academic communication, participation of researchers in EBM who can connect academics and the field should be considered.

In this study, a smart motor control and monitoring system is developed with an embedded board where Intel PXA255B CPU is mounted. Linux is ported into the embedded board as RTOS(Real Time Operating System), and the environment which communicate with a motor driver through serial protocol and is capable of controlling and monitoring the motor in real time is built in the system. A user friendly GUI is developed for the convenient operation of the system. Also, the environment which is able to control and monitor the motor driver remotely is built in the system using TCP/IP protocol.

Compact Camera Module(CCM) is widely used in PDA, Celluar phone and PC web camera. With the greatly increasing use for mobile applications, there has been a considerable demands for high speed production of CCM. The major burden of production of CCM is assembly of lens module onto CCD or CMOS packaged circuit board. After module is assembled, the CCM is inspected. In this paper, we developed the image capture board for CCM and the imaging processing algorithm to inspect the defects in captured image of assembled CCMs. The performances of the developed inspection system and its algorithm are tested on samples of 10000 CCMs. Experimental results reveal that the proposed system can focus the lens of CCM within 5s and we can recognize various types of defect of CCM modules with good accuracy and high speed.

In this paper, we have designed a remote controlable HDR System using all embedded linux board. The system is composed of three parts - a HDR System, a PC client program for remote control and a Nameserver for registering and aquisition of the IP address. The system is built in an embedded board using a linux kernel. With the Linux the system can support networking and file system for a hard disk management In addition, the system embeds a web-server and a ftp-server for remote manipulation and file transfer. And the hardwares of the system are controlled by the linux device driver mechanism. MPEG1/2 technique is used to compress TV tuner signal and external analog video/audio signal. And compressed data is stored in a hard disk. The data stored in the system is accesable through lan or internet. And RTP protocol is used to enable the system to service live stream of instant video/audio input.

In this paper, we describe an arrival time guidance system of circular vehicles using GPS, CDMA and TCP/IP technology. The on-board equipment consists of a GPS receiver and a PDA phone. The on-board equipment sends the current position data of the vehicle to the positioning server via CDMA and Internet. The server predicts the arrival time to the next bus-stop. Any user can lookup the current position and the predicted arrival time of the vehicle utilizing his mobile phone, PDA phone, or Web.
