Government R&D Project Management in Korea has had considerable difficulties because of the lack of project monitoring systems and insufficient communication. The National Program for Tera-level Nanodevices (TND Program) is a ten-year R&D program for commercialization in the area of nano technology. Collaboration and communication among the various participants such as business companies, universities, and government R&D institutes are key success factors in this R&D program. TND Program office has developed a Web-based project management system. This system consists of mostly four sub-management functions: (1) Milestones management of all R&D projects; (2) DR (Design Review) management as the mechanism for checking the performance against milestones; (3) Project activity management using the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure); (4) Budget management. Additionally, it also has many R&D supporting functions such as technology information bulletin board, community management, and visual summary of project progress and performance. This system is effective for monitoring research project as well as measuring project performance of the overall research program. This Web-based system has become the useful tool of R&D moving target mechanism and effective communication and collaboration tool. System features and adoption process of the system are also suggested.

Currently, web-based online games is becoming popular in supporting learning process due to their effective and efficient tool. However, online games have lack of security aspect, in particular due to increase in the number of personal information leakage. Since the data are transmitted over insecure channel, it will be vulnerable of being intercepted by attackers who want to exploit user's identity. This paper aims to propose an online web-based educational game, Vidyanusa which allows the students to register their personal information using a unique code, a user name and a password. It manages the users according to their schools, subject teachers and class levels. In addition, by adopting a unique code, the confidentiality of the user identity can be kept away from attackers. Moreover, in order to provide a secure data communication between client and server, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol is adopted. The performance of the system after implementing SSL protocol is examined by loading a number of requests for various users. From the experiment result, it can be concluded that the SSL protocol can be applied to web-based educational system in order to offer security services and reliable connection.

Personalized reminder systems have to identify the user's current needs dynamically and proactively based on the user's current context. However, need identification methodologies and their feasible architectures for personalized reminder systems have been so far rare. Hence, this paper aims to propose a proactive need awaring mechanism by applying agent, semantic web technologies and RFID-based context subsystem for a personalized reminder system, which is one of the supporting systems for a robust ubiquitous service support environment. Rescorla-Wagner model is adopted as an underlying need awaring theory. We have created a prototype system. called NAMA(Need Aware Muiti-Agent)-RFID. to demonstrate the feasibility of the methodology and of the mobile settings framework that we propose in this paper Moreover, to test if the proposed system works in terms of scalability, a simulation was performed and the results are described.

LBS(Location Based Service)와 GIS(Geographic Information System)는 사용자의 위치 정보를 이용하여 지리정보를 제공하는 시스템으로서 점차 다양한 플랫폼에서 서비스 가능하게 되었다. 그러나 PDA와 같은 이동 컴퓨팅 환경은 일반적인 컴퓨팅 환경에 비해 기능적인 측면에서 심각한 제약사항이 존재하기 때문에 다양한 정보를 제공하기 위한 GIS 시스템을 개발하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이동 환경에 적합하도록 수치지도 경량화 기법과 웹 연동이 가능한 수치지도 포맷을 제안한다. 제안된 수치지도 생성결과 지도의 용량은 기존 지도보다 약 $99.34\%$ 축약되었다.

An integrated water environment management system is necessary in improving water quality, properly allocating water resources, and supporting socio-economic development. Specifically, water quality management system using web map can be an efficient approach to accomplish this system. This paper aims to construct a dynamic water quality management system to reflect a water environment management system which includes three sub-models with consideration of their interrelationships (a socio-economic model based on dynamic Input-Output model, a water resources cycle model, and a water pollutants flow model). Based on simulation, the model can precisely estimate trends of water utilization, water quality, and economic development under certain management targets, and propose an optimal plan. This study utilized the model to analyze the potential of using reclaimed water to accomplish local water environment management and sustainable development plan while exploring the applicable approaches. This study indicates that the constructed water environment management system can be effective and easily adopted to assess water resources and environment while improving the trade-off between economic and environment development, as well as formulate regional development plan.

Information systems development entails planning, analysis, design and construction phases. The analysis phase identifying user requirements is the most important of these phases. Since unidentified defects in the early phase causes increased work and costs as development proceeds, the quality of analysis results affects the quality of the resultant system. Major tasks in the analysis phase are data modeling and process modeling. Research on building a knowledge-based system for data modeling have been conducted much, however, not sufficiently for process modeling. As a system environment with high user interaction increases, research on process modeling methods and knowledge- based systems considering such environment are required. In this research, a process modeling framework for information systems with high user interaction is suggested and a knowledge-based system for supporting the suggested framework is implemented. A proposed model consists of the following tasks: event analysis, process analysis, and event/process interaction analysis. Event analysis identifies business events and their responses. Process analysis break down the processes of an enterprise into progressively increasing details. Decomposition begins at the function level and ends when the elementary process level is reached. Event/process interaction analysis verifies the results of process analysis and event analysis. A knowledge-based system for supporting a proposed process modeling framework is implemented in a web-based environment.

E-business가 상용화됨에 따라 많은 기업들이 인터넷을 통해 B2B, B2C 등의 상거래를 하고 있다. 이러한 웹 기반 전자상거래를 지원하려면 그 회사의 이미지를 고객에게 홍보할 수 있는 홈페이지나 쇼핑몰을 구축해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 전자상거래 관련 홈페이지 및 쇼핑몰 구축시에 공통으로 사용되는 컴포넌트들을 기능에 따라 분류하고, 이 컴포넌트들의 정보, 검색, 편집 둥의 환경을 지원하는 관리 시스템을 설계하였다. 그리고 적용사례로서 상품의 구매과정을 도메인 분석하여 필요한 컴포넌트들을 추출하여 보았다. 설계된 프로토타입은 웹 기반 컴포넌트 관리 시스템 개발에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

To ensure competitiveness in the modern automotive market, process planning should be performed concurrently with new car developments. In automotive general assembly shops, thus, new business workflows and supporting environments are inevitable to reduce the manufacturing preparation time in developing a new car in the manner of concurrent and collaborative engineering. Since complete process planning for a whole general assembly system is a huge and complex job, several process planners should execute their planning jobs and share information. Therefore, each planner should provide others with his/her results with continuous on-line communication and cooperation. In this research, a web-based system for concurrent and collaborative process planning for automotive general assembly is developed. By using this system, savings in time and cost of assembly process planning are possible, and the reliability of the planning result is improved.

건설공사의 계약문서에는 설계도면, 공사시방서 등이 포함되나, 국제적인 수준의 계약문서로서 다소 미흡하게 작성되었던 것이 사실이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 '98년 1월부터는 설계도서 작성시 공사시방서를 작성하도록 하였다. 그러나 제도의 도입초기이므로 참고할 만한 자료도 충분하지 않으며, 작성경험 및 능력도 부족한 실정이다. 이러한 점을 보완하기 위하여 개발된 기존 시스템은 네트워크를 고려하지 않아 시스템 활용과 유지관리 및 갱신에 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 시스템을 개선하여, 전문시방서, 설계기준, 하위기술기준 둥 건설공사기준 DB를 구축하고, Web을 통해 구축된 DB를 검색·활용하여 공사시방서를 실시간으로 작성하는 시스템 개발 방안을 제시하였다. 이러한 시스템은 공사시방서 작성시, 표준시방서, 전문시방서 등 다양한 정보를 조회하여 수준높은 공사시방서를 작성하는데 일조할 것으로 기대된다.

This study proposes web-based authoring system for the lecturers who published textbooks by inserting external open resource. When lecturer publishes textbooks, the system makes it easier to utilize external resources by providing an open resource pool that the lecturer can search not only his own resources but external resources. In addition, we designed an open resource pool based on Original Contents Tracing Model to check whether the scrapped resource is changed or not in the future. Open Resource Pool allows inserting text, images and videos by searching multimedia, and stores metadata for the follow-up management. We made the system to determine the change of the resource using the metadata stored in the tracking system. Through this research, we confirmed that it is possible to publish textbooks by utilizing a variety of open resources on the web and revise the book by tracing the scrapped resources.
