  • In this paper, we propose a web-based content syndication system in which users can easily choose Internet protocol television (IPTV) contents. This system generates personalized content guide to provide a list of IPTV contents with respect to users' interests and statistics information of their online social community. For this, IPTV contents and relevant metadata are collected from various sources and transformed. Then, the service and content metadata are processed by user metadata including audience measurement and community metadata. The metadata flows are separated from content flows of transport network. The implementation of IPTV content syndication system demonstrates how to arrange IPTV contents efficiently from content providers to the end user's screen. We also show that the user metadata including online community information are important for the system's performance and the user's satisfaction.

  • Various technologies for resource monitoring such as network traffic, IP resource usages have been developed. PING protocol message is one of the most simple, powerful way to monitor the network resources. In this paper we describe the efficient way to serves a real-time traffic information reports such as IP usage statistics by using saved database information. And we serve web-based traffic information services, so it can monitor a traffics more efficiently.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the oral health behavior in adolescents between multicultural and ordinary Korean families. Methods: The subjects were 66,797 adolescents who were derived from the web-based survey of the National 2014 Korean Youth Risk Behavior of Korean Center for Disease Control. A self-reported web-based questionnaire survey was carried out from June 1 to 30, 2013. A multicultural family is defined as the immigrant mother and child in the study. The variable included demographic, socioeconomic, and oral health related behavior. The demographic characteristics included sex, age, residence area, subjective academic achievement, type of family, education of parents, subjective economic status, and nationality before marriage. Data were analyzed by PASW statistics 18.0. Results: Tooth brushing frequency was closely related to family type, age, residence area, academic achievement, residential type, education level of the parents, and economic status. Conclusions: It is necessary to support oral health services and oral health promotion programs for the adolescents in the multicultural family.

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between health behavior and oral symptoms in Korean adolescents. Methods: The subjects were 72,060 adolescents who were selected from the web-based survey of the 10th (2014) Korean Youth Risk Behavior of Korean Center for Disease Control. Data were analyzed by PASW statistics 18.0. A web-based self-reported questionnaire was completed by 74,167 middle and high school students. The subjects consisted of 36,470 boy students (52.2%) and 35,590 girl students (47.8%) from 400 middle schools and 400 high schools. Results: Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that experience of oral symptoms were related with sex, age, academic achievement, economic status, alcohol drinking, moderate physical activity, muscular strength exercises, walking, fruit consumption, milk consumption, fast food consumption, snack consumption, daily tooth brushing frequency, use of fluoride toothpaste, school based oral health education, dental sealant and dental scaling. Conclusions: There were close relationship between heath behavior, oral health behavior, and experience of oral symptoms. To improve the health promotion for the adolescents, oral health program development and primary prevention strategy must be established.

  • Purpose: The research purposes analyzed the study participation and lecture evaluation of applicants in the cyber hospice specialist education course to find problems of nurse education application on the web. Method: Study participants were 125 nurses for participation and 68nurses for lecture evaluation. The data was analysed by descriptive statistics. Result: The results obtained from this study were as follows 1) The residence distribution of study participants was spread out across the nation. Equal distribution of education was accomplished without a difference among provinces. 2) The average study duration in the study participation was about one hour and a quarter minutes a week, and number of access to lecture notes was 65.8 times. But in a discussion room and a cooperative room, the system using rate was very low, so we considered the idea to come up with a more effective application way. 3) The participant's lecture evaluation of cyber education were generally satisfied about the quality of lecture, time, contents etc. Conclusion: This study shows the possible implication for nursing fields using a web-based learning program for reeducation in a variety of fields, so nursing cyber application can be considered to come up with this more effective method.

  • Purpose: This study was to compare the health behaviors and factors influencing on suicidal ideation according to the gender among adolescents with asthma and to examine the relationship between them. Methods: The data was obtained from the 2014 youth's risk behavior web-based study in South Korea. The data were analyzed with the SPSS/Win 21.0 program, using descriptive statistics, $x^2$ test and multiple logistic regression. Results: As the result of multiple logistic regression, the factors of health behaviors and risk related to suicidal ideation were subjective happiness, stress, depression, drug use, treatment experience due to violence in both male and female. In female, physical activity and alcohol drinking were factors related to suicidal ideation. Conclusion: Therefore, we have to develop suicide prevention program, to decrease the suicidal ideation of adolescents considering such differences by gender differences.

  • This study was conducted to explore socio-demographic influences on eating behaviors among adolescents in Korea. Data were obtained from the Eleventh Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (2015 KYRBS), a nationwide representative sample of 3,532,149 middle and high school students. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, and logistic regression based on complex sample design using SPSS 20.0 statistics. The results showed that intake frequency of soda, fast food, and instant noodles was higher in male than female students (P<0.001). Additionally, the frequency of eating breakfast, fruits, vegetables, and milk was higher among high school students than middle school students (P<0.001). Higher levels of economic status were associated with less skipping breakfast. Adolescents with mothers that had higher levels of education were more likely to be frequent consumers of fruits, vegetables, and milk, and to eat breakfast.

  • Next generation sequencing (NGS), a high-throughput DNA sequencing technology, is widely used for molecular biological studies. In NGS, RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq), which is a short-read massively parallel sequencing, is a major quantitative transcriptome tool for different transcriptome studies. To utilize the RNA-Seq data, various quantification and analysis methods have been developed to solve specific research goals, including identification of differentially expressed genes and detection of novel transcripts. Because of the accumulation of RNA-Seq data in the public databases, there is a demand for integrative analysis. However, the available RNA-Seq data are stored in different formats such as read count, transcripts per million, and fragments per kilobase million. This hinders the integrative analysis of the RNA-Seq data. To solve this problem, we have developed a web-based application using Shiny, COEX-seq (Convert a Variety of Measurements of Gene Expression in RNA-Seq) that easily converts data in a variety of measurement formats of gene expression used in most bioinformatic tools for RNA-Seq. It provides a workflow that includes loading data set, selecting measurement formats of gene expression, and identifying gene names. COEX-seq is freely available for academic purposes and can be run on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux operating systems. Source code, sample data sets, and supplementary documentation are available as well.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of loneliness on habitual drug use in Korean adolescents. Methods: The study was designed as a cross-sectional study. Using statistics from the 16th (2020) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey, multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted. A total 54,948 adolescents were included in the analysis. Results: Adolescents were more likely to engage in habitual drug use when they were lonely than when they were not (OR: 1.55, 95% CI: 1.20~2.02). As for sociodemographic characteristics, gender, academic achievement, and living with family were factors influencing habitual drug use. As for health behavior characteristics, perceived stress, depression, current drinking, violence, sexual intercourse, and perceived health were identified as factors affecting habitual drug use. Conclusion: Provision of education that includes loneliness as a factor, which was not previously considered important in school education for preventing habitual drug use of adolescents, should be considered.
