A STUDY ON BIM-BASED 5D SIMULATION IN WEB ENVIRONMENT

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an effective decision-making platform that helps to save project cost and enhance quality of construction. By generating and linking a wide variety of objects data, BIM can be effectively utilized, and it should be ensured that object properties maintain consistency throughout the project period of design, estimates, construction, maintenance and repair. This study examined how to utilize BIM data in a construction project, by linking cost and schedule data in web environment, to better utilize the information and maintain consistency of the BIM information. To do so, the model integrated WBS data and CBS data, linked them with BIM model to realize 5D simulation in web environment. As a result, cost and schedule data could be simultaneously acquired, and object properties-cost, schedule, location-as well. These are expected to contribute to developing a BIM-based automatic data-processing system in web environment.

  • In South Korea, Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) has been enforced since 2004 to restore and manage water quality in the watersheds. However, the appraisal of TMDL in South Korea has lots of weaknesses to establish the plan for recovery of water quality because it just evaluates the target water quality during the particular flow duration interval. In the United States, Load Duration Curve (LDC) method bas been widely used in the TMDL to evaluate the water quality and pollutant loads considering variation of stream flow. In a recent study, web-based Load Duration Curve system was developed to create the LDC automatically and provide the convenience of use. In this study, web-based Load Duration Curve system was applied in the Gapyeongcheon watershed using the daily flow and 8-day interval water quality data, and Q-L Rating Curve was used to evaluate the water quality and pollutant load in the watershed, also. As a result of study, water quality and pollutant load in Gapyeongcheon watershed were met with water quality standard and allocated load in the all flow durations. Web-based Load Duration Curve system could be applied to the appraisal of South Korean TMDL because it can be used to judge the impaired flow duration and build up the plan of load reduction, and it could enhance the publicity. But, web-based Load Duration Curve system should be enhanced through addition of load assessment tools such as Q-L rating curve to evaluate water quality and pollutant load objectively.

  • 웹 기반 토론 학습은 학습자들을 능동적이고 적극적으로 학습에 참여시킬 수 있으며, 학습자 중심의 활발한 상호작용과 학습 환경을 제공한다. 그러나 기존의 웹 기반 토론 학습을 살펴보면 게시판이나 자료실을 이용한 의사 교환 기능 위주의 학습 환경 조성과 토론 학습의 실태 조사 및 활성화 방안 중심의 연구가 많고, 동적인 토론 과정을 체계적으로 지원하는 시스템은 적은 편이다. 그리고 다양한 웹 기반 수업에서 토론은 부분적으로 혹은 전면적으로 학습자의 활동으로 등장하기는 하지만, 특정한 토론 수업 모형은 개발되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 대인간 상호작용을 활성화시키고, 토론 수업 모형의 단계와 구성 요소를 구체화한 체계적인 웹 기반 토론 학습 시스템을 개발할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구는 동적인 토론 학습 활동이 이루어질 수 있도록 지원하고, 토론의 단계를 구체적으로 제시한 Hill의 일반적인 토론 학습 모형을 적용하여 체계적인 웹 기반 토론 학습 시스템을 개발하고자 한다.

On the Design of Logo-based Educational Microworld Environment

  • We study to design educational Logo-based microworld environment equipped with 3D construction capability, 3D manipulation, and web-based communication. Extending the turtle metaphor of 2D Logo, we design simple and intuitive symbolic representation system that can create several turtle objects and operations. We also present various mathematization activities applying the turtle objects and suggest the way to make good use of them in mathematics education. In our microworld environment, the symbolic representations constructing the turtle objects can be used for web-based collaborative learning, communication, and assessments.

웹 기반 해운 선사 운영시스템 보안 요구사항 연구 (Study on security requirements for the web based operation system of a shipping company)

  • 해운 선사의 운영시스템은 주전산기를 이용한 단말기 접속 환경 또는 클라이언트/서버 구조의 환경을 유지하고 있는 경우가 아직 많으며, 웹서버 및 웹 애플리케이션 서버를 이용한 웹 기반 환경으로의 전환을 고려하는 해운 선사가 증가하고 있다. 그런데 전환 과정에서, 기존 구성 방식과 지식을 바탕으로 웹 기반 환경의 특성 및 해운 업무의 특성을 고려하지 않고 설계를 진행하는 경우, 다양한 보안상 취약점이 실제 시스템 운영 단계에서 드러나게 되고, 이는 시스템 유지보수 비용의 증가를 초래하게 된다. 그러므로 웹 기반 환경으로의 전환 시에는, 시스템 안전성 확보 및 보안 관련 유지보수 비용 절감을 위해 설계 단계에서부터 반드시 보안을 고려한 설계가 진행되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 위협 모델링 기법의 특성을 살펴보고, 해운 선사 운영시스템에 적합한 모델링 기법을 선정한 후, 데이터 흐름도와 STRIDE 위협 모델링 기법을 해운 선사 업무에 적용하여, 데이터 흐름도의 각 구성 요소에서 발생 가능한 보안 위협을 공격자 관점에서 도출하고, 공격 라이브러리 항목과의 매핑을 통해 도출된 위협의 타당성을 입증한다. 그리고, 이를 이용하여 공격자가 최종목표 달성을 위해 시도할 수 있는 다양한 공격 시나리오를 공격 트리로 나타내고, 보안 점검 사항과 관련 위협 및 보안 요구사항을 체크리스트로 구성한 후, 최종적으로 도출된 위협에 대응할 수 있는 23개의 보안 요구사항을 제시한다. 기존의 일반적인 보안 요구사항과는 달리, 본 논문에서 제시하는 보안 요구사항은 해운 선사의 실제 업무를 분석한 후, 여기에 위협 모델링 기법을 적용하여 도출된 해운 업무 특성을 반영한 보안 요구사항이므로, 추후 웹 기반 환경으로의 전환을 추진하는 해운 선사들의 보안 설계에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 생각한다.

Performance Evaluation of Node.js for Web Service Gateway in IoT Remote Monitoring Applications

  • The growth of mobile devices in Internet of Things (IoT) leads to a number of remote and controlling system related IoT applications. For instance, home automation controlling system uses client system such web apps on smartphone or web service to access the home server by sending control commands. The home server receives the command, then controls for instance the light system. The web service gateway responsible for handling clients' requests attests an internet latency when an increasing number of end users requests submit toward it. Therefore, this web service gateway fails to detect several commands, slows down predefined actions which should be performed without human intervention. In this paper, we investigate the performance of a web server-side platgorm based event-driven, non-blocking approach called Node.js against traditional thread-based server side approach to handle a large number of client requests simultaneously for remote and controlling system in IoT remote monitoring applications. The Node.JS is 40% faster than the traditional web server side features thread-based approach. The use of Node.js server-side handles a large number of clients' requests, then therefore, reduces delay in performing predefined actions automatically in IoT environment.

안전정보와 보전관리정보를 연계한 Web 기반 지식베이스 진단시스템 구현 (A Study on the Development of a Web Based Knowledge-Based Diagnosis System through a Combination of SIS and MMIS)

  • To keep enterprise's competitiveness on condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only production and maintenance but also related industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys for the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of Industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for prevention of industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, this study studied the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique by using of the knowledge-based system under the internet environment. This web based knowledge-based diagnosis system can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robot, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility on everywhere, everytime. Therefore, when we use this system, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety.

Automatic Alignment System for Group Schedule of Event-based Real-time Response Web Processing using Node.js

  • A web application running on the Internet is causing many difficulties for a program developer, and it requires to process multiple sessions at the same time due to the occurrence of excessive traffic. Web applications should be able to process concurrent requests efficiently and in real time. Node.js is a single-threaded server-side JavaScript environment implemented in C and C ++ as one of the latest frameworks to implement event models across the entire stack. Nodes implement JavaScript quickly and robust to achieve the best performance using a JavaScript V8 engine developed by Google. In this paper, it will be explained the operation principle of Node.js, which is a lightweight real-time web server that can be implemented in JavaScript for real-time responsive web applications. In addition, this application was practically implemented through automatic alignment system for group scheduling to demonstrate event-based real-time response web processing.

  • There are already many researches providing u-Healthcare service, but they have left problems to be improved. First of all, the transmission range between sensor nodes and the gateway are restricted. Hence, patients feel uncomfortable because of they need to possess or locate closed to a gateway all the time when they aggregates their medical data. Also, the existing systems have not considered life environment that is important to analyze patient's diseases. Moreover, a guardian need to located close to patient or possess a mobile device that monitors a patients' status in real time when they are in outdoor. In this research, we present multi-hop packet transfer algorithm and compilation of life environment which help improve the problem of the existing researches. Likewise, we designed and implemented a medical information database and a real-time web monitoring system that manage patients' personal history and monitor a patients' status in real time. In this paper, we design and implement the u-Healthcare system based on mobile environment and we present a result when we tested our u-Healthcare system in scenario environment.
