  • Nowadays there are various smart devices and development with the development of smart phones and that can be attached to the human body wearable computing device has been in the spotlight. In this paper, we proceeded developing wearable devices in watch type which can detect user's movement and developing a system which connects the wearable devices to smart TVs, or smart phones so that users can save and manage their physical information in those devices. Health care wearable devices already existing save information by connecting their systems to smart phones. And, smart TV health applications usually include motion detecting systems using cameras. However, there is a limit when connecting smart phone systems to different devices from various companies. Also, in case of smart TV, because some devices may not have cameras, there can be a limit for users who wants to connect their devices to smart TVs. Wearable device and user information collected by using the smart phone and when it is possible to exercise and manage anywhere. This information can also be confirmed by the smart TV applications. By using this system will be able to take advantage of the study of the behavior of the future work of the user more accurately be measured in recognition technology and other devices.

  • In recent years, many wearable devices and mobile apps related to life care have been developed, and a service for measuring the movement during walking and showing the amount of exercise has been provided. However, they do not measure walking in detail, so there may be errors in the total calorie consumption. If the user's behavior is measured by a multi-axis sensor and learned by a machine learning algorithm to recognize the kind of behavior, the detailed operation of walking can be autonomously distinguished and the total calorie consumption can be calculated more than the conventional method. In order to verify this, we measured activities and created a model using a machine learning algorithm. As a result of the comparison experiment, it was confirmed that the average accuracy was 12.5% or more higher than that of the conventional method. Also, in the measurement of the momentum, the calorie consumption accuracy is more than 49.53% than that of the conventional method. If the activity recognition is performed using the wearable device and the machine learning algorithm, the accuracy can be improved and the energy consumption calculation accuracy can be improved.

  • The purpose of this study is to explain users' wearable healthcare device adoption using performance expectancy, effort expectancy, facilitating condition, hedonic motivation and price value of UTAUT2, and to identify the causal relationship between intention to use wearable healthcare device and innovativeness. The research model proposed in this study is based on UTAUT2(Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology). In specific, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, facilitating condition, hedonic motivation and price value of UTAUT2 and innovativeness are adopted in our research model. To validate the research model, we carry out the analysis of the survey data using Smart PLS 3.0 to test the hypotheses. According to the empirical analysis results, this study confirms that Innovativeness have significant effects on the performance expectancy, effort expectancy, Facilitating condition, Hedonic motivation, and price Value of wearable healthcare devices. It also finds that the performance expectancy, effort expectancy, Facilitating condition, hedonic motivation, and price value affects the intention to use wearable healthcare devices.

  • We investigated the wearable dynamics of diamond spherical abrasive during the substrate surface polishing under the pad compression via classical molecular dynamics modeling. We performed three-dimensional molecular dynamics simulations using the Morse potential functions for the copper substrate and the Tersoff potential function for the diamond abrasive. The pad hardness had a big impact on the wearable dynamics of the abrasive. The moving speed of the abrasive decreased with increasing hardness of the pad. As the hardness decreased, the abrasive was indented into the pad and then the sliding motion of the abrasive was increased. So the pad hardness was greatly influenced on the slide-to-roll ratio as well as the wearable rate.

  • Elastomers based on the thermoplastics are widely used in rubber industries. Thermoplastic elastomers have the advantages of an easy shaping process and elimination of recycling problems. Thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPE) is used for making rubber bands in wearable devices and its applications are increasing. In this study, five wrist bands were designed and their mechanical behaviors were examined by computer simulation, using hyper elastic models, Mooney-Rivlin and Ogden models, and a linear elastic model. Simulation results were compared and discussed in terms of band design and material model.

  • Allowing on-site workers to access information of the construction process can enable task control, data integration, material and resource control. However, in the current practice of the construction industry, the existing methods and scope is quite limited, leading to inefficient management during the construction process. In this research, by adopting cutting edge technologies such as Augmented Reality(AR), digital twins, deep learning and computer vision with wearable AR devices, the authors proposed an AR visualization framework made of virtual components to help on-site workers to obtain information of the construction process with ease of use. Also, this paper investigates wearable AR devices and object detection algorithms, which are critical factors in the proposed framework, to test their suitability.
