천연옥수수전분과 hydroxypropyl화 옥수수전분의 RVA특성과 필름 물성의 관계 (Relationship between RVA Properties and Film Physical Properties of Native Corn Starch and Hydroxypropylated Corn Starch)

  • 본 연구는 천연전분과 hydroxypropyl화 전분에 가소제를 0, 16, 33, 50, 66% 비율로 첨가하여 RVA점도를 측정하고 필름을 제조한 후 물성을 측정하여 두 물성 사이의 상관관계를 알아보고자 행하였다. 필름의 인장강도는 가소제의 함량이 높아질수록 감소하였고 신장율과 수증기투과도는 증가하였으며 glycerol이 sorbitol보다 큰 변화를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. Hydroxypropyl화 전분이 천연전분에 비해 강도는 떨어지나 신장율은 높아지는 것으로 나타났고 수증기투과도는 2배 큰 것으로 나타났다. 가소제를 혼합하여 필름의 물성을 측정한 결과 sorbitol은 유연성보다는 필름의 강도를 유지하는 역할을 그리고 glycerol은 필름의 신장율을 증가시키는 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. RVA물성과 필름 물성의 관계에서 가장 연관성이 높은 것은 peak viscosity, 인장강도, 수증기투과도인 것으로 판명되었고 peak viscosity와 인장강도, peak viscosity와 수증기투과도의 관계는 각각 직선적인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 RVA 물성 중 peak viscosity를 활용하여 필름의 인장강도, 수증기투과도를 예측할 수 있다고 판단되었다.

Properties of Biodegradable Films Produced from Rice Bran and Roasted Sesame Meal through Chemical Modifications

  • Biodegradable films were prepared from roasted sesame meal and rice bran. Acetic anhydride, succinic anhydride, and formaldehyde were added to the film-forming solutions, and their effects on tensile strength, percent elongation, water vapor permeability, and water solubility of the films were studied. Roasted sesame meal did not form film without acylation or addition of formaldehyde. Acylated roasted sesame films had higher tensile strength and water-solubility, and lower % elongation than rice bran films. Acylation with acetic and succinic anhydrides increased tensile strength, percent elongation, and water solubility of rice bran films, but decreased water vapor permeability. Treatment with formaldehyde increased tensile strength of roasted sesame and rice bran films and % elongation of rice bran films, while reducing water-solubility of roasted sesame and rice bran films and water vapor permeability of rice bran films.

Preparation and Properties of Waterborne Polyurethane-Urea/Poly(vinyl alcohol) Blends for High Water Vapor Permeable Coating Materials

  • High water vapor permeable coating materials were prepared by blending aqueous poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) solution with waterborne polyurethane-urea (WBPU) dispersions synthesized by prepolymer mixing process. Stable WBPU/PVA dispersions were achieved at PVA content below 30 wt%. As the water soluble polymer PVA content increased, the number and density of total micro-pores (tunnel-like/isolated micro-pores) formed after the dissolution of PVA in water increased, and the water vapor permeability of coated Nylon fabric also increased significantly. Using WBPU/water soluble polymer PVA blends as a coating material and then dissolving PVA in water was confirmed to be an effective method to obtain prominent breathable fabrics.

  • PHB/chitosan 필름의 수분 투과도는 PHB 필름께서 280.25 g/m$^2$ㆍ24 hr로 가장 높았고 chitosan의 함량이 증파할수록 수분 투과도는 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. PEG가 첨가된 PHB/chitosan 필름에서도 PHB-P 필름의 수분 투과도가 294.5 g/m$^2$ㆍ24 hr로 가장 높았고, chitosan의 함량이 증가할수록 수분 투과도는 낮아졌다. 산소 투과도의 경우 PHB 필름이 0.026${\times}$$10^{-10}$$cm^3$(STP) cm/$cm^2$ㆍsecㆍcmHg로 가장 높았으며 chitosan의 첨가 비율이 증가할수록 산소 투과도는 낮아졌다. 또한 가소제인 PEG가 첨가되지 않은 필름이 PEG가 첨가된 필름보다 산소 투과도가 더 낮았다. 유지 투과도에서는 PHB와 PHB-P를 제외한 필름들이 24시간동안 유지론 통과시키지 않아 유지 차단성이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 필름의 생분해도 측정시 필름을 첨가하지 않은 대조군에 비해 필름이 첨가된 실험군의 산소 소모량이 높아 필름이 생분해되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며 필름의 PHB의 비율이 높을수록 분해도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

카라기난 필름의 투습 특성 (Water-Vapor Transfer Characteristics of Carrageenan-Based Edible Film)

  • 카라기난을 사용하여 제조한 생분해성 필름의 분말식품에 대한 응용성을 조사하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 3종의 두께(0.05, 0.08, 0.11 mm)로 제작된 카라기난 필름을 사용하여 5가지의 온도(20, 25, 30, 35, $4^{\circ}C$)와 3가지의 상대습도(50, 70, 90%RH) 조건에서 수증기투과율을 측정하여 카라기난 필름의 투습 특성을 조사하였다. 카라기난 필름의 수증기투과율은 PE 필름보다 2.3배 정도 높았으며, 투습계수는 PE 필름보다 45-230배 정도 높아 수증기투과도가 높음을 알 수 있었다. 카라기난 필름의 투습계수는 다른 친수성의 가식성 필름과 마찬가지로 필름의 두께가 증가할수록 직선적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 카라기난 필름의 투습계수는 온도에 대한 의존성을 나타내지 않았으나, 수증기투과율은 온도에 대한 의존성을 나타냈다. 카라기난 필름의 수증기투과율의 활성화 에너지는 필름의 두께에 따라 7.898-12.872 kj/mol의 값을 보였다. 카라기난 필름의 수증기투과율은 활성화 에너지 값이 커짐에 따라 지수앞인자의 값도 증가하는 kinetic compensation 현상을 나타냈다.

Preparation and Properties of Waterborne Polyurethanes Based on Ttiblock Glycol $(CL)_{4.5}$-PTMG-$(CL)_{4.5}$ for Water Vapor Permeable Coatings: Effect of Soft Segment Content

  • A series of waterborne polyurethanes (WBPU) were prepared from 4,4-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate ($H_{12}$MDI),2,2-bis(hydroxylmethyl) propionic acid (DMPA), othylenediarnine (EDA), triethylamine (TEA), and triblock glycol [TBG, ($\varepsilon$-caprolactone)$_{4.5}$-poly(tetramethylene ether) glycol (MW= 2000)-($\varepsilon$-caprolactone)$_{4.5}$: $(CL)_{4.5}$-PTMG-$(CL)_{4.5}$, MW=3000] as a soft segment. Two melting peaks of TBG at about 14$^{\circ}C$ and 38$^{\circ}C$ were observed indicating the presence of two different crystalline domains composed of CL and PTMG dominant component. The effect of soft segment content (60-75 wt%) on the colloidal properties of dispersion, and thermal and mechanical properties of WBPU films, the water vapor permeability (WVP) and water resistance (WR) of WBPU-coated Nylon fabrics, and the adhesive strength of WBPU- coated layer and Nylon fabrics was investigated. As soft segment contents increased, the water vapor permeability of WBPU- coated Nylon fabrics increased from 3615 to 4502 g/$m^2$day, however, the water resistances decreased from 1300 to 500 mm$H_2$O.O.

투습성에 따른 단열재의 단열성능평가 및 고찰 (The estimation on the insulation performance of thermal insulation materials according to water vapor permeance)

  • In this study, the insulation performance of thermal insulation materials such as glass wool, polyetylene and flexible lastomeric foam according to water vapor permeance was estimated by using experimental correlation equation. The results showed the conductivity increment of flexible lastomeric foam which has very low-permeability (${\le}0.15[ng/{\cdot}s{\cdot}Pa]\;or\;{\mu}{\ge}1,000$) is about 50% lower than that of glass wool with the lapse of ten years. The conclusion is that moisture inevitably accumulated in permeable Insulations reduces insulation performance and also accelerates surface condensation in the case of cold water system.

콜라겐을 첨가한 폴리우레탄 코팅직물의 물성 (Physical properties of PU coated fabric with collagen)

  • The demand for PU coated synthetic leather is increasing as a high fashion material. But it has some faults of water vapor permeability surface tacky property and static electricity. Therefore the purpose of this study was the produce of PU coated fabric added collagen with hydrophilic property and soft touch. In the PU coated fabric water vapor permeability water vaper absorption and frictional electronic voltage were investigated surface bending and compression properties were also examined by the use of KES-FB System. The followings were the results of this study. 1. There was no Cr in the collagen so that Cr was not treated in the collagen. 2. The surface and cross sectional layer of PU coated fabric with collagen were highly developed by micro porous structure. 3. The water vapor permeability of PU coated fabric was increased as collagen concentration increased. 4. The water vapor absorption of PU coated fabric was increased as collagen concentration increased. 5. The frictional electronic voltage of PU coated fabric was decreased in accordance with the increase of collagen concentration. Especially it effectively decreased by the use of only 5% collagen concentration. 6,. The bending and compression properties of PU coated fabric were increased in accordance with the increase of collagen concentration so that it became stiff. 7. The Value of MIU, SMD was decreased in accordance with the increase of collagen concentration so that the PU coated fabric became smooth.

  • The effects of paper properties such as density, air permeability, water vapor transmission rate on the thermal performance of plate-type enthalpy exchanger were experimentally investigated. Three enthalpy exchanger samples having different properties were made, and were tested according to the standard test procedure (KS B 6879). Effective efficiencies were defined, which accounted for the air leakage between supply and exhaust streams. Results showed that paper density affected the sensible heat transfer of the samples. Sensible heat transfer increased with density of the paper. It was also shown that water vapor transmission rate alone was not a proper indicator for the efficiency of latent heat transfer. Air permeability should also be considered for adequate evaluation of the latent heat transfer. Best performance was obtained for the sample having highest paper density and moderate water vapor transmission ratio.
